Since then, the army has increased the standards of training, especially within the special forces who are trained like the US Navy Seals and British SAS. The Air Force was also purposefully kept weak by Israel and Syria, but efforts to modernize it and acquire new equipment ramped up around 2008 and the result of those efforts should be visible soon. The army is still developing after years of neglect, be patient.
