  • We used to do the same kind of stuff like in that video, but it was on people's front lawns during a rainy night using rear-wheel drive cars. We don't like destroying our tires on pavement, so it was more fun to do it on a wet lawn seeing rooster tails shoot all over the place. I love my X3 and the sedan-like handling. The vehicle is an absolute joy to drive. I'm so happy that we bought it.

  • Hi nSimarkbotak. Nice idea to rent. That way you can try out all types of vehicles. Wish I'd done that. You're right about the handling, although I find mine very bumpy even on a smooth road. Anyway, I must thank god that I have an X3. Think of how many people would really like one, so, perhaps I shouldn't grumble too much eh?

  • That's the spirit.. You are right, the ride is quite stiff, but I found a fter driving through germany for 8,5 hours in this thing, that it didn't really bother me, and handling feels really sedanlike with sport suspension..

  • Very good. Now try taking it up a hill in the snow. I had to abandon mine! I'll never off road in mine ever again. Worst car purchase I've ever made. In just over three years I've lost £13K. Then again, its my fault for being an idiot for buying it in the first place.

  • I did try and stick it into some thick snow and almost got stuck.. You are right in saying that it isn't really meant for offroad driving, and also that the loss in value is huge. I must say that it handles very nice on flat surfaces though.. Then again, it was a rental, so I'm not stuck with owning one and don't consider the loss in value.. LOL

  • every vehicle depreciates in value. Statistically, BMWs are the slowest depreciating cars in their individual classes. Cool vid though. Just bought and '07 w/ sport, cant wait 'til the winter to try that out.

  • apples to oranges my friend. They are entirely different classes of vehicles and comparing them doesnt make any sense. Its like comparing a MB E class to a BMW 3 series. The Fx and Touareg are in class w/ the X5, not 3 (both are much bigger and heavier than the X3). Its way more accurate to compare it to the Acura RDX and Infiniti Ex, they are actual market competitors. Then we'll talk.

  • And my MB C class handles better than my X3, so what? none of those cars are in the same marketing class as the X3. Its stupid to make comparisons like that.
