  • Now I really want to upgrade to ssd lol.

  • As much as I love the performance boost I can't swallow the ~ $300 dollar difference between 250GB 5400rpm and 256GB SSD. Ouch!

  • fucking virgins

  • I just used this video last night to install an SSD in an older macbook pro 13". Thanks!

  • @adonn78 to have two drives you have to remove the optical drive(no more disk reading capabilities unless you get an external one)

  • Perfect review, that is exactly the kind of test I was looking for ! No Seriously, it is complete, accurate, objective, etc.

Continue like this, I'm following you now ! :)

  • Good vid. I have the exact same model, was thinking about swapping for an SSD. Question: do you have to reinstall OSX and all the applications onto the new drive?

  • It this your first video! ? awewome review btw.

  • You cannot afford macbook? Check out giveaway at macbook7 . com Go and get yours

    I like it

  • excellent video.

  • excellent video.

  • How much you paid for the ssd?

  • Nice:)

    Clumsy Technichian though.

    And Where is the ESD-Protection?

  • Dude, do a sound check!!! Make sure the volume is the same throughout!!

  • Love it and will do the same, where did they get the cool mouse pointer with the ring around it, anyone?

  • I know what I'm doing to mine Macbook Pro when the HD starts to go. Already have the 4Gb RAM.

  • Hi, thanks for the video!

Just a quick question, does anyone know if you install higher speed memory (E.G. 1667MHz memory instead of the standard 1066MHz), will the MacBook run any faster? Or will the setup not automatically take advantage of that (I.E. Run the new 1667MHz RAM at 1066MHz)? If so, can the settings be changed to take advantage of the upgrade?

  • Hmmm.... I wonder which one is better.

  • Wow, my 2010 MB Pro has the 4Gb of RAM and this has me going shopping for a solid state drive.

  • you forgot to mention about disconnecting the internal, ri-t battery

  • That's a hell of an upgrade!

  • Nice video! But may I ask about what impact an SSD has on battery? Is there any improvement from 7hours?

  • I am in the process of installing a Intel X-25 V ssd in my 13" MBP but I have a feeling if I update to the 1.7 firmware that I am going to run into problems with the MBP detecting my new drive. When I installed my current wd scorpio 320gb I had to rollback the firmware as the stock drive was the only drive my MBP would recognize.. My fingers are definitely crossed as the performance boost from a SSD is sooo sweet.

  • @LiquidSwrdz wu tang clan commin AT YA WACH YA STEPPPPPPPP KIIIIDDDDD :D

  • If I upgraded the RAM would I see better speeds like in the video?

  • Yes.

  • I prefer my iMac (Late 2009 Model) with 4GB Ram, 1TB Hard Disk and (21.5") LED Screen.

  • @rodrigoloko77 I prefer the faster.

  • ....and very expensive upgrade ;0)

  • to compare accurately u shouldn't change the memory unless u change it for both machines !

  • JOHNMONK66: Dude either you have no idea what your on about or staking a guess. A ssd is alot faster due to no moving parts and not having a disk to search constantly the advantages of ssd over hardrive are multiple from lower running temps quieter operation and no parts to go wrong ssd work faster and boot faster depending on there write speed and make drives such as intel are twice as fast . You are talking crap because you have no facts to back your ridiculous claim It isn't a myth.

  • Whats the model name of these crucial ram?

  • Nice video, but please level off the sound. The intro music is about 30 decibels louder than all the narrative.

  • i recently bought a 4gb 2x2 800mhz ram from kingston . bought it for 59 dollars.

i dont really notice an improvement over my old 2gb 1x1 samsung ram.

for the price i paid, could it be that i just bought a pirated kingston ram?

or 59 dollar is normal price

  • awesome side by sides.

  • Thank you we are adding boot times to our tests...

  • 32s vs 74s ! Wow. Thank you, you convinced me to now go & invest for SSD for my MBP

  • Hi can I ask a couple quick questions?

Are there two separate screw drivers needed? one for opening the back cover and one for removing the HD?

Can you tell me the specific models for each screwdriver?

    thanks!

  • We will be posting a complete how to with everything you need to know buy this weekend,, thank you for viewing

  • Have you installed the new EFI 1.7 update?
