  • I figured out what your suppost to do at 2:41

  • nothing against you or anything but i thought you were a girl.

but seriously you're amazing, you're the kiershar of SMB to me

  • Anyways, this is not a glitch because, the bonus areas (The Slide... Thing.) are just a different area of Delfino Plaza (I think, Lol). (Like the Airstrip.)

  • Simply logging the value against the high score then resetting the value would fix this. It's an oversight kind of glitch - these kinds of bugs are fairly low in severity, slightly higher than spelling errors and typos.

  • Zomg I keep finding your vids no matter WHAT I search. XD

  • A good way for lives? A good way is to do the level "Pianta's in need." in Pianta Village. After saving all the villagers, talk to them and you get blue coins. After getting blue coins and completing it, go back to the level and do it all again. But this time, instead of blue coins, you get free lives! You can get 7 free lives from each try on the level. (only 7 because kids are suckish and dont give you free lives or blue coins)

  • Keep in mind that this method is doable essentially first thing in the game. You'd have to get quite far into the game before the Pianta Village method can be used.

  • ulillillia

But you can use the trick to get to Pianta Village before Bionco Hills.

    (Did someone already mention this?)

  • It's not stupid at all. You not only get extra lives with little effort, but it adds to the impression, seeing "999" for the score column.

  • Wow.

  • another way 2 get 999 coins is go 2 the airstrip, get all coins, exit area , get all coins in delphino plaza, go back 2 airstrip, and keep doin' that!

  • Pinna Park is another case - I have a video showing it as well.

  • Shouldn't mario be covered in sewage?

  • There is no sewage in this area at all (unless you consider the wavy stuff called water as sewage).

  • oh ok, but how do you use the tv tuner? Do you buy it?

  • A TV tuner is a computer hardware device that converts a video signal from an analog source (i.e. antenna, VCR, video game consoles, etc.) into a digital format the computer can use. With that, recording video becomes possible. I've written the details about TV tuners so you can find the one that suits your needs - PM me for the details if you want to buy them.

  • hey cool trick! How do you record gamecube or wii games and put it on youtube? Please reply!

  • I use a TV tuner for not just the Gamecube, but any console system. I never use emulators and I don't have any of the current generation systems (too few games are of interest to justify the very high price).

  • i dont call it a glitch

  • I do consider it a glitch because, by entering any other level then exiting, the coins count resets to zero but it doesn't here, an inconsistency.

  • ulillillia, you should be king of the internet :D

  • There's actually an easier way... you just have to go to delfino airstrip, and get all the coins there, then come back to the plaza, and go back to the airstrip again and get all the coins. Just repeat, and you get like 120 coins each time around.

  • ... but that method is not available until you've essentially completed the game's story. The method in this video works first thing. For a bit, you won't get as many coins in a round, but it's a cheap way to get extra lives.

  • True, but is anyone who hasn't opened corona mountain going to be trying to get 100-999 coins?

  • Quite a few would... at least to 100. The reason for that is because you get a shine sprite. For those that feel that this game is difficult, there's nothing better than a few cheap extra lives, of which this method allows.

  • im wearing earphones and i think its an awesum idea that you put the game audio in the right ear and your voice in the left!

  • When I look at the waveform for the audio of the game, I see that, although its stereo, the two waveforms are exactly identical. This gives me the opportunity to remove one of the two channels and replace it with my voice. My right speaker is closer to me and since I like the game's sound track better, I put the game's sound track on the right speaker.

  • I wonder if this can be possibly done in any other areas? Probably not, since everything (coins and life) resets when you exit levels.

  • AH HAH!

  • You can do this much, much faster by repeatedly going to the airstrip. Only takes a couple minutes or so. ;)

  • Oh, yeah, aren't there about 100 coins there anyway? I guess the fact that you spend 10 coins to get there in the first place might turn people off though, but it is much faster. It reminds me of that minigame in Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, where you break the pots. The Zora gives you 90 rupees because he needs 10 to replace the jars (though if he has 100 rupees to give away multiple times, why can't he just pay those instead of taking it out of your prize, the jerk.).

  • Yeah, I agree! I haven't that game in so long (and don't even own it), I just borrowed it once. Maybe I should go out and buy it?

  • Hm...yeah, the game is great to play and it's a good challenge to get all 120 Shine Sprites. If you wish to, you should go ahead. There's so much to do to get all the Shine Sprites, so aside from a few tough missions, and some blue coins, it's a fun experience.

  • I was talking about Majora's Mask, BTW. Sorry for the misinterpretation. XD

  • Ah, that's fine. That's definetly a recommendation in my book though. Majora's Mask has many side quests, so while the game may seem short (only four temples, which isn't a bad thing in this game's case because of the side quests). Yeah, the game is a lot of fun.

  • I've got 39 blue coins remaining (which is where the 116 shine sprites comes from). I'm actually kind of wondering what happens if I do get all the shine sprites. The game says that the place gets brighter, but it's already quite bright.

  • I think you get an extra cutscene if you get all 120.

  • Actually, you don't get a cutscene...or much difference that's noticeable. The only difference is that at the very end of credits, it shows a picture of every character in the game on a stage, and Mario thanks you for playing his game (rather than Piantasmo staring at a Paintbrush). Also, a red shine sprite will be next to your file.

  • You could wear sunglasses when you got 50 shrine sprites; you can wear a top. It really doesn't do anything at all. You also get a little symbol by your save file.

Sorry if you had already found the answer to this question or have already had it answered by someone else.

  • I actually hadn't thought of using the airstrip. My method, as shown, is worth about 28 coins per minute on average. However, at least this method as I posted can be used first thing, before even dealing with the Bianco Hills.

  • that's too many coins.

  • Hello, there's a glitch that I think might be of interest to you -- on Gelato Beach, you can shoot Mario thousands of feet into the air.

While on Yoshi, spray the plant on the beach which causes the sand to descend into the shape of a foot. Then, time it just right so that you ground pound just as the foot takes form. Yoshi will shoot into the air -- hop off and you'll go much higher. Sometimes, you'll go so high you seem to never come down, but other times you will fall back onto the beach.

  • I never knew of such a bug. I don't recall Yoshi being present in Gelato Beach though....

  • Wow. I love your video games videos. The 50 spyro 2 oddities, the spyro 1 gnastys loot, the Sonic 3 and knux Ice Cap zone glitch... everything else... It's so cool. And I congratulate you for all your hard work.

    Thank you!

  • Oh, yeah. Yoshi is hard to find in Gelato Beach (that's my least favorite level in the game...in fact, almost overall in the 3-D Mario Series (64, Sunshine, and Galaxy)).

To find Yoshi, just do episode 6. That's the only one he's in (which is really annoying, as 8 is the best one for coins, and he's not there). The only levels he isn't in are Noki Bay (my second least favorite level overall), and Corona Mountain.

  • Serena Beach I hated the most, mostly because of that hotel (I don't like indoor levels that much). Noki Bay is actually one of my favorites - lots of height and decent music. Delfino Plaza is my top favorite (the coins/cheap lives glitch and the music). My second-least favorite is Corona Mountain. If the block levels were seperate, these make Serena Beach look like a favorite....

  • Yeah, to be fair, Serena Beach does have my least favorite mission in the trilogy (the Secret Casino one...ugh). I hardly considered Corona Mountain a level, as it's too short, but I don't like it much due to the boat part (hence why I don't consider it a level). Yeah, Noki bay is okay, but I just though the missions were a bit tedious (so much climbing), and finding the blue coins...ouch. My favorite block level though, is the one in Noki Bay, which is ironic.

  • The "find 8 red coins in 5 minutes in the hotel" mission was horrible - 2 hours and about 20 lives down the drain.

  • Yeah, I feel the same way about the Casino one, and what's worse, is that you have to do it twice (to get the red coin shine in the secret area). Those slots hate me enough (the automatic one, the other one is easy), but it get's worse. Those flip panels will flip even if I don't spray water. I think I've wasted just as much time on that mission once alone. and it's a waste because of the luck factor being so high and the secret is the hardest one in my opinion (the Pianta Village one is second)

  • I think he's only on episode 6, on a circular area of the beach right by where you start.

  • Actually, even if he doesn't seem to be coming down, after about five hours, he lands.

  • This video was great. I used to have a lot of difficulty obtaining enough coins in Delfino Plaza, but I certainly won't any more!

If you ever get the opportunity, I would strongly encourage you to play Super Mario 64 for the Nintendo 64. It's an awesome game, and it has plenty of fun glitches.

  • I've never even seen the Nintendo 64 system, or what it's games look like (I know they're cartridges, unlike the CD's used beforehand but that's about it).

  • Oh and i also hated them "secret" stages. Especially the certain stage in pianta village. You would be thrown from platform to platform by the guys with tree's on their heads. I lost many lives from that certain level. And yes the graphics are extremely detailed and colorful. Good game, i would give it an 8 1/2 or perhaps even a 9

  • Same thing and same level. It really gives you a sense as to just how dependent you become with fludd (if I recall that water cannon's name correctly). I use hover and rocket most often.

  • now this game i absolutely loved and a game of which why i hated to sell my gbc but oh well.

also you at 09:00 - 09:05 HAHAHAHAHAHAH your laugh was so mental!

  • Oh, so that how you do it. That requires a lot of patience. Pretty awesome, 19 lives every 999 coins!

Btw, i was waiting for about an hour for the video to process, but it took longer :/ Or maybe it just wasn't showing up on your activity list on your channel.

  • When you reach 999 coins, get another and you'll get an extra life. You can have more than 1000, it just won't show it (I hate this). And even then, you'd have 19 extra lives gained by the time you reach just the 400's - remember that 1up in that hidden sewer? You'd get 20 lives there by the time you have 880 coins (the coin count adds 17 more). Thus, if you do reach 999 and pass it, you'll have earned 43 lives in about 30 to 40 minutes - 23 from that 1up and 20 from the coins. How cheap!

  • That will make the game atleast 30% easier.

Now there will be no sign of a "game over" screen for years. Meh, the game was pretty easy anyway, not counting the the "Secret" stages.

  • 9:00 Yes! I was hoping you'd do that.

  • Man ulillillia you must have a lot of patience. I would get bored way too fast doing this. Still it's a cool way to get easy lives and it's good to know about, thanks for making the vid.

  • They often state of using "exit area" to prevent from losing lives and they've disabled this by making it impossible to pause while in mid-air (which is extremely annoying - they could just gray out or leave out "exit area" if they wanted to do that), but even then, this bug makes losing lives even less of a concern since they're even cheaper.... In Platform Masters, the game I'm making, instead of 99 lives as a maximum, it's into the billions - a century at getting an extra life every second!

  • the stuff ulillillia posts is interesting/cool so who cares shut up

  • shut up

  • Apparently you cared enough to post your comment.

  • I've wondered so much that it has kept me awake at night.

"UGHHH, HOW COULD HE HAVE GOT 999 COINS IN DELFINO PLAZA?! IT'S IMPOSSIBLE!"

  • This bug that I explain shows you how. Repeat the process for 30 minutes and there you have it. Try it yourself if you don't believe it!

  • yo ulillillia i wanna get high with you one time. you love getting high right? i can tell.

  • High in altitude (height) only. I'd like to climb a 1000-foot mountain once... but then again, I haven't seen real mountains outside photos and TV (these sources can be faked).

  • You seem quite fascinated with heights.

Look up Project Excelsior on Wikipedia, some history you might be interested in.

This Air Force Captain, Joseph Kittinger, at the turn of the end of the 1950s, performed a series of very high sky dives, his first being from 76,000 feet in the Earth's atmosphere, and his last jump being from about 102,000 ft in the outer borders of the Earth's stratosphere.

It's probably the next best thing to being in outer space itself.

  • those sources can totally be faked homie

  • hey, Ulillilia have you played mario galaxy? i have and completed it but i still like sunshine better because it kept me busy for ages. I just wondered which one yo prefered?

  • Unless Mario Galaxy is for the Gamecube, I'm unlikely to play it in the near future because the current systems are way too expensive. If it's for the Wii only, then it would have to work with the Gamecube controller or I'm not playing it at all.

  • The controls are actually excellent for the Wii. You use the nunchuck to move mario, so its just like any analog control scheme. You really shouldn't miss this gem.

By the way, with your internet popularity, how come you aren't making money somehow?

  • Ulillillia considers the Wii's control scheme unwieldy and imprecise, so he's not likely to be getting one. The lack of proper cheat devices for the system might also be a minus for him.

  • For Super Mario Galaxy, it's great.

  • The D-pad is much less precise than the joystick but I prefer the D-pad over either of these much more.

  • Actually in some cases I found the d-pad to be more precise. Every time you push a direction on the d-pad you go exactly in that direction, without fail. With a joystick there is always the chance you could be off a little.

  • You're referring to accuracy, not precision. Think of this: accuracy is to actual as precision is to prediction. The D-pad is accurate, but only has 4 stages, of which only 2 can be used at once (not up/down, left/right together). The joystick has more flexibility in not only direction, but also intensity. Joysticks often use a value from -127 to +127 for each direction (using a signed char, which is very accurate). I just don't like the design of the Wii's controller... and in many ways.

  • Ah, thanks for clearing things up.

  • Awesome game

  • My favorite Mario game, I need to start playing that again.

  • I really liked Mario Sunshine Ulillillia, even though I know other people don't like it. Another great video. Hit it out of the park.

  • Its water is the most realistic I've ever seen! The graphics are also very good too. It's those block levels when an episode title contains "secret" in it, and the lack of variety/themed worlds that kind of lowers this game's grade. Graphicswise, for the time the game was made, it's grade A. Game play is more grade B and level design is grade B-.

  • the block levels were the best part of the game, yo

  • first!! ulillilia i have seen all your videos!

  • You weren't quite the first, off by a few seconds. I replied to the above comment when it was the only one present then I saw that I had 2 comments, yours.

  • DAMMIT lol

  • I can barely hear your voice. Microphone trouble?

  • Same format and settings/conditions as before so I don't know. The right speaker should contain the game's audio and the left should contain my voice.

  • fine for me
