If you are going to attempt an alliance, at least wait until one leg has been completed. You need to get a sense of who is who. If you make a blind alignment based on proxiity on the bus, you may have made it with the weakest teams.

You also may be sending the message that you lack confidence to make it in this game without ganging up on strong seeming teams.
