  • I haven't seen the DVDs but after wading through countless fake reviews, including supposedly independent comparisons with competing products, I did find a bunch of truly independent reviews on harmonycentral. The consensus is that it's a good course for ABSOLUTE beginners and that it stops by the time things get interesting. For more advanced stuff, check out Truefire. A great free beginners site is justinguitar. I work in marketing by the way. I'm not again promotions, just sleazy ones!

  • Sincerely this video looks very SALESY at the first look and that would turn down the visitors in the first few seconds... sad ... :)

  • Guys, may be he's getting a commission out of this, but I personally have a copy of Gibson's learn and master guitar, and I am guitarist with over 12 years of playing experience, and I recommend Learn and Master Guitar course for all the beginners who wish to learn guitar seriously. Dear Peter, have u personally seen the lessons of Steve? If you have seen, you would never say this.

  • @deepakeapen78 I believe you. My beef is not with the course but with the unethical way it's promoted. On harmonycentral the founder of spytunes, a competing product, complains of how LMG disses his product on the internet in supposedly independent reviews. One thing I agree on: to learn guitar, don't get sidetracked watching a video here and there. A well-laid out progression is important. Spytunes and justinguitar, to name some offer that, mostly for free.

  • which course do you recommend after completing this program?

  • I would not buy this if only because of the way they astroturf the internet with promotions, including this one (be assured that the above reviewer gets a commission). The internet is full of fake review sites where L&M guitar always happens to come out on top. Even if you google L&M guitar scam you'll arrive at fake review sites that again praise L&M guitar. I understand the need to promote one's product, but this is just too totalitarian for me.

  • @peterdemaeyer Hi... yeah, L&M is quite heavily promoted. I have personally looked through this course though, and I don't try to sugar coat anything. I don't think they're the greatest guitar course out there, but for certain people, looking for certain types of instruction, I think L&M does a good job.

Personally I think they focus a bit too heavily on reading music... I don't think that is a necessary thing for beginning guitar players who mostly want to play in their living room etc.

  • @peterdemaeyer There is no such thing as FREE LUNCH my dear friend. What's wrong in a person getting a commission, if he's doin a good job. come on man, the whole world revolves around on commission. If you buy anything, many people are benefited out of that, right. So live and let live mate.. why are u so allergic to commissions. But yes I do scorn fake reviews. But yes good reviews are really helpful for others, do not forget that. Would you do a review for nothing ??? come on man.

  • rhay777 - strictly speaking I agree with you - of course you CAN learn on your own with just a guitar, and free lessons online. However, I guarantee you that you'll learn faster and more thoroughly if you get instruction from somewhere else.... and I'm not talking about any particular course here. Personally I've taken private lessons for several years and continue to do so... I know for a fact I would not know what I do today about the guitar without having taken those lessons.

  • correction- you do not have to invest ANYTHING to learn to play guitar.... aside from the guitar. The best and only way to learn anything is to practice and pay your dues with putting in your TIME! you can get free lessons online. Once you know the chords and rhythms, the skies the limit. Thanks for the video review though. Nicely done.

  • Nice man very nice ill half to try that
