Dozens of movies with monsters or aliens have special features that show rejected designs, and this cloverfield monster looks like a rejected one to me. Like they tried to be too different and ended up making something entirely unrealistic. Maybe if they looked at strange animals and insects we have on this planet and built on that, they'd have a better design. This movie needed a better monster. I'd have enjoyed something like a Cthulhu movie a whole lot more than this disappointment.
