Question for thinking people... How can "Christ" be the Passover sacrifice and sacrifice for sin, when the PASSOVER LAMB SACRIFICE had NOTHNG TO DO WITH SIN. It was to remind the Israelites that instead of their 1stborn dying in Egypt, a lamb was put in its place. The death angel passed over. But it had NOTHING to do with a sacrifice for sin. Read Exodus, read what they were to tell their children about WHY they did this.That was the day of atonement. Where did HE SAY he was the Passover Lamb?
@WONDAWOMAN 1st Corinthians 5:7 "Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:" Passover has a different meaning for Christians. You are mistakenly thinking of Jews. By arguments of biblical excegesis, the Exodus passover is seen as essentially a phophetical nod toward Christ's sacrifice (He was crucified during the passover, you see), as antetypes.
@drhoobad I don't care what PAUL or whoever penned Corinthians wrote.. I am not mistaking ANYTHING.. Passover was given to YSRAEL under COVENANT BY YHWH. I am aware of the myriad of incorrect delusional meanings that Christians attempt to assign to HOLY THINGS given to Ysrael by YHWH under COVENANT.. Christian delusions and fictional mythology cannot change what YHWH ordained.. an ADULT HUMAN MALE cannot be ANYONE'S passover lamb or sacrifice for sin ACCORDING TO YHWH HIMSELF.
@drhoobad I have read EXODUS, I do READ IT before celebrating Pesach & Unleavened bread.. IT IS GIVEN TO YSRAEL and is FOR YSRAEL, not Gentiles, not Christians, not the Uncircumcised. Exodus is NOT prophetic and has NOTHING to do with the fables of the so-called New Testament. IT WAS HISTORICAL and Passover is an ETERNAL memorial instituted by YHWH & given to YSRAEL not the WORLD to be kept throughout ALL Their generations as a MEMORIAL.
@drhoobad Only those who buy into the adutleration of the eternal covenant and the hack job of the Romans who wrote the New Testament attempt to take the SAME CRUCIFIED SAVIOR MYTHOLOGY and destroy the ETERNAL covenant given to Ysrael and replace Ysrael with a GENTILE CHURCH. LOL.. Recommended reading" THE WORLD'S SIXTEEN CRUCIFIED SAVIORS. Same old pagan story with a poor attempt to give it an Ysraelite face lift. Human sacrifice??!! @WONDAWOMAN Well, I guess the only thing left to remind you is that you are a Jew: we are not arguing over fact, but over doctrine, and this will prove extremely tedious and pointless, since Christians and Jews have different doctrines, you know.
@WONDAWOMAN I will look at the book (but I will be very wary of the boldface warning against "trusting anything in this book"). And I recommend to you James Frazer's Folklore in the Old Testament. He doesn't set out to prove anything, just show where the Old Testament stands in relation to numerous tribal legends.
If Christians want to avoid deceptive doctrine- one way is to understand the origins of our Jewish roots in christianity - this is a good example - this adds wisdom to the objectives of Gods love for us- Praise Him
