this is such a set up, these people are paid comedians. They "found" these guys through their talent agents. Jeremy, Kevin and Jessica didnt need a ride they need a show, lets give them a 3s company sort of backward spoof, and hell the driver can be the upstairs nosy landlord.

They began a spin-off called "Cash Cab: After Dark" a couple days ago. Same deal with the daytime show, but the values are doubled (First 4 are $50 each, next 4 are $100 each, all questions after are worth $200 each; Red Light Challenge still is worth $250)
