"Cult" what a load of shit... I am not a member of AA nor an addict, but I have family members that are, and because of AA they have been clean and sober for many, many years.. If this is a "cult" then I have nothing but respect and love for it...
To zone65 , I'm Replying to your post two years late ... I hope that you've found soberiety you sound sincere about what you want , and where you are . Good luck
And the drink quit working... exact same thing happened to me. Read my sobriety story, also overcoming Hep C, Inteferon, and alcoholism on books4free dot c o m !
I'm so glad this was taped and is available now. It's comforting to hear Stevie's voice and to hear him speak about his situation. I'm just happy and grateful that he was able to live his last few years clean, sober and happy. He was a good man and I will always miss him.
not a disease. so cancer and down syndrom must be a sin then if alcoholism is a disease. silly brainwashed aa people, dont be fooled. you chose to be a drunk just like i did. run from aa. the 12 steps are a lie. and if your a Christian and are going to aa. stop. read 2 corin 6:14 and compair that to the traditions of aa. direct violation.
aa is not the only way. aa turns you into a mindless legalistic cult member that cant think for himself. Turn to Jesus, after all He made you, not aa.
@neilbubbachuck You need an education. It is a disease, and its inheritable. Cancer and down syndrone must be a sin then? What on earth are you babbling about, wheres the comparison? Oh and by the way, God isn't real. Have a nice day
@neilbubbachuck You can believe what you want about AA, but it has helped hundreds of thousands of people. Just because it didn't work for you doesn't mean it's not good for someone else Don't belittle something because you personally haven't gained anything from it! Science has proven time and again that it is a disease. If that isn't convincing enough, do you truly think tight-wad insurance companies would pay for anything that wasn't??
It seems to me that continuing to drink/use is like chasing a rainbow. I appreciate the opportunity to listen to this speech. It gives me hope. I wish my brother had found this peace before he died. I would love to type on and tell my story. I feel like I'm really close to surrendering. This year, I had 3 months sobriety, it was awesome, but I began drinking beer again . I want to be sober and content once again. It is the Rainbow. AA is a good program.
I can relate to the chasing the rainbow thing, but I can also say its like a warm blanket on a cold night or an old girlfriend you go back to back to who robs and steals from you over and over again but you keep going back... Its insane. Normies just dont know.

27 days after this was recorded, Stevie performed on MTV Unplugged.
Look it up on here, you can tell how clean, sober and happy he was... just by the way he was playing.

Thank you very much Brytar8! This is the most anyone who didn't know Stevie well personally will ever get a peak into the real Stevie!

His self discovery is so inquisitive and interesting. It really forces you to think about what he's saying.

@neilbubbachuck Why is it that religious freaks (well religious hypocrites) like you are so obsessed with bashing other religious idiots?
