  • We love our '02 LE pathfinder. It's been our favorite car and after 115k it still runs great. Plenty of power, nice size and not too bad on gas. I'll stay away from reinforced concert walls.

  • Got in a pretty bad accident in one on an expressway. Thank god no airbags but I was doing maybe 50, 55... That car was mangled. The brakes and axle and fenders and hood were demolished, the engine died and it leaked everything. And I was fine. Not a scratch, and thats the point... it was a 2001 though, this was a 1997 it

  • i own a custom 1999 pathfinder and it run perfect im about change the tirs later today because i keep the car brand new

  • currently driving a 2000 pathy with 115k miles, runs like a champ

  • @AnimalCrossingCool4 maybe the depowered airbag would have helped it had they tested a 98

  • @2004NissanSentra If you want a safe car, you'd be better off with a 96 4runner.

  • i love my 01 p-finder

  • I'm totally ignoring this and buying one next month lol

  • Ehh, that'll buff out.

  • my fathers car : /

  • My Mom drives an '02 2 accidents she got rear ended first one bya a dodge dakota and second by a honda pilot."Pat" was pretty messed up from both the accidents but my mom walked away without a scratch. Proud to own one of these.

  • I will point out that the Pathfinder has always been one of the highest rated SUV's for safety, regardless of this test.

  • In all these tests, cars are being driven into pretty much an immovable object. In real world driving you're going to encounter smaller cars as well as larger cars so it all depends. Cars these days have crumple zones, that test "block" that the IHS uses does not crumple nor does it give an inch. It would be better if they tested the car against various sized vehicles.

  • @FH415 They do use a deformable aluminum barrier. It's the NHTSA which use a concrete wall.

  • fuck, i drive one

  • @jdmatt hahahahahahaah LOL

  • @jdmatt I drive one too :/

  • Toatled my 98 pathfinder yesterdayrigbt into a pole Me and my buddy got out not even a scratch on us

  • Good to hear, bro....pathfinders are replaceable, people aren't!

  • I love my Pathy. I wouldnt trade it in for world!

  • Newer pathfinders(2005 and later) get good crash test results

  • @mchlfgn17 They also look terrible compared to the R50.

  • ive got an 01 with 128k, that thing drives beautifully. you cant beat a nissan

  • Do not consider the ratings to be evenly weighed.

  • we had a 98 QX4 and we were driving 70-80 mph and totaled ours when we were driving and someone decided all the sudden to get off the ramp and cut across the white lines and get back on the interstate. the damage was no where near this bad. It was totaled because it was almost 10 years old, and it would be more to fix than it was worth.

  • i got an 01 with 107 k and i always feel safe in it

  • I've got an '01 and it's the best vehicle ever. 84,000 miles and still runs like new!

  • I have a 1996, I feel much safer now...not! I still love my truck though.

  • pretty typical for 1997

  • Heh, I was about to upload this video around 2 days before it was posted, but since it was taken, oh well, LOL.

  • yea but it was the same till 2005 when they made the new one :(

  • acually, i think it was the 2002 model (but im not 100% sure) pathfinder that got 4 stars too, theres a video of it and it did much better than this pathfinder

  • Hmm I'm not aware of that, maybe they just added more metal to the problem areas because i knwo they didn't change the vehicle. I'll definitely look into it though so I'm not ignorant on this.
