  • Shot-on-video movies look like crap.

  • Creepy

  • this has the same feel like Michael Myers.

  • Who goes in the shower and has beforehand turned every other light in the house off?!

  • low budget but creative. worth 4 stars. ****

  • I don't think it a good sign when three minuts into a movie your like "kill her already!"

  • They changed the name of the bates motel to 'chi omega sorority'? Lol, sorry I couldn't help but notice the comparison. But, I have to commend you on your great camera work, and a believeable storyline, not to mention the tension that builds up before the hatchet work. Did I mention that the actress was good too? Thanks for the video.

  • @Grey9man

Um.... this isn't his movie (at least, I highly doubt he was involved) This is BLOOD CULT from 1985, which was one of the most successful direct to video movies of its day. It's on DVD now, but I believe the disc is out of print.

  • @demon91 Oh, I see, it was well done anyhow, to say the least. Reminded me of horror when it was still something that you could 'sink your teeth into' and not the tired old cliche's that are so often in our faces these days. Thanks for the reply and info.

  • @Grey9man - Are you serious? You don't find this cliched?

  • @deadbirdsings Well, if you didn't read between the lines, it would seem cliched'. However, it seems to use a fresher outlook on the older themes, and does have some comparison's to them, but opens up a much broader aspect of them, so, no, I do not find it cliched'. If you play a tired old theme in a loop, then it is cliched', this film expands on those themes and explores new areas previously untouched.

  • @Grey9man - Well, admittedly I didn't do more than skip through this 9 minute clip, so I may have missed the subtleties, but I'm not going to watch the whole thing because I can't get past the presentation. If something looks like a cheap, derivative, shot-on-video piece of crap, I usually assume that it is, and 99 times out of 100, that assumption would be correct. The slasher theme is so well worn that I doubt this no-budget gem brings anything new to the table.

  • @deadbirdsings I can understand you being jaded because it seemingly does have the tired old elements of those slasher films. I know a few author's who kind of helped me discern things about books, and films, and they take a Sherlock Holmes attitude of "Things are not always what they seem to be,Watson". So, using this perspective, there are many new venues that this film does explore, subtle as they are.

  • @deadbirdsings There have been several films that I viewed in the past, which had this strange background noise just about all the way through them. Recently, I had the opportunity to listen to what someone's heart sound like when they do a scan of it, ... There was the exact sound that was used in those movies. We can't hear our hearts that way with our ears, but, subconciousy, we have heard this sound all of our lives. It did provoke uneasy feelings. I would imagine this is in a lot of films.

  • did you get me the pizza? did you get the anchovies?

now THAT is just suspense-building dialog....

  • That was bad. Looked more like something from early 2000s, but the guy wears converse, so he can't be all that bad.

  • 6:00 so it was just unlocked the whole time?

  • I love this movie!

  • Reviews on IMDB saty that this was the first ever movie produced to go straight to VHS -shot on and intended for video release only. '85 seems a bit late for that to me but if so, we are in the presence of genre defining history here.

    Thanks for the upload

  • @philipharris

It wasn't. There were several before it (Sledgehammer, Twisted Illusions being a couple examples) What this was was the first SOV movie to be distributed nationally and probably had the largest marketing budget and made the most money.

  • @demon91

    Thanks for the info.

  • @philipharris

Not a problem. It actually had a 100 grand marketing budget, if you can believe that.

  • @demon91 - LOL. They probably spent more on marketing than they did on making the movie.

  • Looks like he was attacking a large jar of raspberry jam in the bathtube

  • she has very good hearing to hear someone downstairs creeping around when she is upstairs in shower

  • @dannyrose55 or really hungry ! xD
