I really wish there was atleast a translation to what they were saying, since in the original phantasy stat there never really much character development or dialog between the 4 main characters, the only time they even spoke is to alis when they meet her for the first time, But it seems like in the remake they have alot more personality. If only we could hear whay they were saying.

Blame Sony of America. They've always had a stupidly strict no-2d game policy on the PS2. The only chance any 2d game could be released was if they're bundled into a collection.

Sega should at least port the two games on one of the handheld systems like the psp.

I really hope sega will one day find a way to bring these remake versions of phantasy star in english. I would gladly buy em! Heck I could see them being able to port em as DLC on PS3 or Xbox or make it to where you get all 4 remakes. It can be easly done. I really do hope Sega will release em some day.

They should be more than powerful enough to handle those remakes perfectly (unless there's space issues, which I highly doubt), since the 3DS graphics happens to be beyond PS2's graphics, & it's no doubt that the PSP 2 will have graphics above the PS2's level as well.

Totally agree. Its a damn crying shame they never made an english port of this. Phantasy Star started my love for RPG's. When i saw they remade it I was so excited and even played the game but I don't understand a word of Japanese. T_T I guess my only alternative is to learn Japanese.

I still remember back in the original game where only Lutz's magic and Odin's laser worked on Dark Falz. Alice and Miau's physical attacks didn't do any damage, so after Lutz ran out of mp, I was stuck getting in one attack with Odin's laser every turn. Very frustrating, indeed.

I just finished the original today it was a great game. I would have loved to have gotten these versions of them, it's too bad that they didn't meet Sony Americas quality standards. It's disappointing indeed. How powerful was your party ? I still had to heal alot but I was able to hand Lassic his head with all my party members doing decent damage physical or magical.

Admittedly, my party could have been a bit more powerful. I was okay with defeating Lassic, it was Dark Falz that gave me so much grief. I couldn't understand why I was expected to find all the best Laconian items for Alis, only for her not be able to damage Dark Falz in the slightest. Odin carried the weight of the battle after Lutz ran out of magic. But speaking of Lassic, did you ever play Phantasy Star 4? The game holds an interesting surprise regarding that character. :)

I played it a bit when I was a kid, I didn't get too far in it. I wasn't too into RPGs back then. Now that I've got all 4 games on Sonics Ultimate Genesis collection I plan to play all of them in order. I bet if I do that I'll get a lot more out of 4 when I play it. I know it's a great game

He still can't use magic; Odin is using a crystal, a new feature in the game. Crystals act like magic, however characters can only equip three at a time and the more powerful ones break after use. :)

Both Reipard & Scar are evil kings, they've been responsible for the death of one of the main character's loved ones(Simba's father, Mufasa in the Lion King & Alyssa's brother Nero in Phantasy Star), they both made life miserable, they both were corrupted & in the end the stories' heroes overthrown them to avenge their loved ones.

According to my knowledge, they have certain crystals, like the tandle crystal and heal crystal. If you combine 2 of the correct crystals in an option called "collaboration", then it has the power to do massive damage, and anyone can use the crystals as the same effect as magic.
