Hello Markkunkel--You sound great on that instrument. I was looking at an octave cittern with a mahogany body or maybe an octave guitar conversion. Do you have to make up your own string sets for the Nyberg?

Markkunkel, do you still play the Cittern in the video? Would you recommend one with a mahogany body? Also, are the string sets custom or can you buy them pre-packaged?

I have had my Nyberg short scale cittern since 2003 (with a lute rose, the one on his website and the Cittern page of Wikipedia) and it is still my favourite instrument (five others in active use). That Nyberg sound stands out a mile.

Yikes, Jonathan, missed this one. So sorry. I think the strings are D'Addario, phosphor bronze, with the following gauges as recommended by Lawrence Nyberg 52/45/32/22/11, all double-course. Hope that helps.
