I saw the exact same one june 2011 in Wigan England. I was so In shock I didn't think to capture it on my mobile. No wings, no sound, no windows no trail and certainly no balloon. Don't worry about sceptics. They are only peeved cos they have not seen one.

I saw something very similar to this on Staten Island in New York City in 1997...made a helluvan impression on me...it was only at about 500 feet, made no noise, moved in a straight line and seemed to be traveling at about 100 mph...only real difference is the one I saw didn't have a dark band around it...left me amazed with a zillion questions...anybody have any idea what this is?

After 2 years of viewing this footage and doing research I have finally identified this strange object. What you are seeing is actually an external shell containing the true craft. Looks like Tomahawk cruise missile or similar. I think those "shiny cigars" are just some military meteorological drones. At the corner of Ukraine, Hungary and Slovakia they're not rare after summer storms, and no one care about it, even if they're accompanied by military airplanes.

@dklr1959 We are in Memphis, TN and beginning about 2 months ago, we began seeing these objects glide thru the sky with no sound whatsoever, one after another, spaced a few minutes apart, usually right before sunset (at that time, it was about 7:45pm we began seeing them). Now, we still see these, but we are seeing HUGE triangular and diamond shaped objects past dark, getting REALLY busy in the sky around midnight. Keep looking! There's more! There must be something huge going on...

I once saw a cigar shaped UFO at night, but it was more a tube of Smoke.... moved very slowly horizontally and then a purple flash at the front before shooting off at an incredible speed into the horizon. Was shocking. No one believes me and certainly no one has ever had an explanation for it.

I too think its a jet, but one important question is- where's the comtrail?

I've been seeing these things around me too recently. 5 in two days. No comtrail, no noise, slow moving on a rigid course. THey dont move like blimps, and theyre are next to impossible to see without a polarized lens. I have no idea what they are. Something military I suspect.

Dustergirl, i've seen the same object from a plane in germany, it IS DEFENITELY NOT A ZEPPELLIN, despite some may believe !!! As i was watching it, it really DISAPEARED in a blink of an eye !! A few months later ( now that i've seen one of those, i look alot to the skyes ), iv'e seen 2 of the them from a train( that was in france..).

This only can be :

1: A Ufo

(I'm a believer) but in this case i think the camera is out of focus and that the dark section could be the wing, it could also be a zeppelin, a zeppelin is a cigar shaped balloon, it has no wings or whatsoever. or it is really a UFO.. we cant tell due to the lack of quality of the video.

Yes I know it was hard to catch it at the distance it was and zoomed in. It looked like that with the naked eye is the reason I filmed it. I have seen planes that wings disappear in the sun, but you see them at times. I didn't know about a zeppelin until now. Thanks for your comment.
