I you seem to be in the minority in preferring it darker. I'm not sure which one I prefer myself, I generally like things to be quite dark, for the sake of the ambiance, but it does make details harder to see.
@Chilledoutredhead Thanks. I found it's actually quite easy to increase the brightness, I just added the strip of images to itself, doubling the brightness.
This is a great looking project.
However having just looked at the original as well I think I prefer that version.
