so many of the "Big Three"north American cars are Japanese engineered now, so Japan has a stamp on just about everything.

GM cars are engineered in the US/Europe/Korea/Australia/Cana­da. Actually, many Japanese cars are partially American engineered. I hope you're not one of those morons who buys a car neither engineered nor built in Can/US (ie most KIA/Hyundai). And people wonder why the economy shrinks and jobs are lost.
