Wrong, as always. Yes, the gravity between the Sun and the Earth would increase, but the surface gravity on Earth would be exactly the same. His idiocy amazes me.
actually both VFX and yourself are entirely wrong ; in reality less distance between the earth and the sun would yield a higher gravitational pull on the earth-side turned away from the sun, however less gravitational pull on the side facing the sun, and the same gravitational pull on the 'rim' area, with a sidewards pull towards the sun-facing side. its called relativity, it has numbers that can be crunched easily with a calculator ;)
I am aware that during the winter season we are in fact closer to the Sun, if that's what you're talking about. Gravity between two objects gets stronger when they are closer. If some other force is at play as explained by relativity, could you link me to a source? I'm always up for learning new things.
The Earth's surface gravity wouldn't change if the gravitation pull between it and the Sun changes. Surface g is defined only by the Earth's mass and it's diameter, as long as they're constant.
I will give you a brief description on Copyright, Its the exclusive right to make copies, license, and otherwise exploit a literary, musical, or artistic work, whether printed, audio, video, etc.: works granted such right by law on or after January 1, 1978, are protected for the lifetime of the author or creator and for a period of 50 years after his or her death.
funny how they use the theory of gravity to promote their religion and are against the theory of evolution and use arguments such as: it's a theory and so it can't be true.
He admits to using Hovind's arguments at the beginning (I'd note, however, that copying Hovind verbatum is not a very good basis for claiming "expertise" in the topics of science and religion). For the rest of the video he is copying a different source, pretty much verbatum... not Hovind.
The point: If the explanation for using Hovind is that Hovind encourages copying his materials, how does that explain verbatum usage, including copied clips, of Illustra Media's productions?
"This video is only relevant if Illustra Media has a problem with VenomFangX using their material."
This would be akin to saying that shoplifting is not a crime as long as you are really hungry, because store owners would understand. Well, maybe they would, if you ask them first, but if you DIDN'T ask, then you can assume whatever you want - your conduct is still immoral.
When a for-profit enterprise produces something and copyrights it, I personally would assume they don't want other people reproducing it, especially without proper accreditation.
As for reporting VFX to Illustra, I will leave it to Illustra to be vigilant for their own product. The purpose of my vids isn't to get anyone in trouble, but to provide myself with a forum to respond publicly to VFX when I would otherwise be silenced.
In regard to that probability crap: "improbable" does not mean "impossible". It is IMPROBABLE that you will win the Lottery. Does it mean you never will? No. It is IMPROBABLE that if you flip a coin 500 times, you will get heads 500 times. Is it impossible? No. It is IMPROBABLE that you could live through being stabbed in the brain. Possible? Yes. Even if the chance for something is as small as one in ten trillion, it could still happen.
I wondered where they got this probability bullshit from. But in any case, it's irrelevant.
Even if it were true, it's just another variant on the anthropic principle, hiding the presumption that the world was created for us in order to "conclude" it.
And they don't understand they tell us they're idiots.
IIRC, that list of factors was worded during the fifties or sixties by those scientists that were willing to look at the possibility of extra-terrestrial life.
As research progressed and numbers and factors were generated and refined, p(life) grew. Last i saw, p was 0.8 or so.
Well-since there are actually trillions of stars out there-it seems reasonable that maybe 1 out of 10 star systems have intelligent life...not to mention the fact that life on other planets could have developed under silicone (or something else) instead of carbon and have a higher tolerance for heat or cold...that is one of the beauties of life! It will always find a way...
How in the world did you possibly arrive at the conclusion that this video proves the biblical god exists? With any life in any environment, life would be altered if the environment were altered. All this video establishes is that we wouldnt be here if our environment didnt exist. It lends itself to evolution more than theology. And even if it did prove god existed, which it doesnt, by what stretch of the imagination did you conclude it would be the biblical god as opposed to any other?
The remarkable thing about Young Earth Creationists is how unaware they are of the flimsiness of their "proofs."
I think his point was trying to say that if I'm criticising VFX (which is the same as criticizing God), then I'm obviously Satanic, trying to turn them into atheists and destroy Christianity. Unrealvariety just wanted me to know that my unrelenting persecution of "Christianity" will only harden his resolve to remain "Christian."
When he does come up with his own stuff, it is contradictory and pathetic. There is a video on his channel called "refuting naturalistic claims 2" where he basically admits that creationism is not science. He states that the scientific method cannot be applied. Therefore, no atheist or naturalist can claim that he doesn't exist since he is outside our universe and our worldy logic doesn't apply.
I guess I see why he doesn't allow intelligent people to comment on his channel. He would never be able to refute any criticism or opposing arguements because he doesn't know what he is talking about. He's just repeating the BS he finds on creationist websites. In alot of his clips he appears to be reading off of his computer - he is probably looking at "answers in genesis" website.
no its much easyer to explain. im just a goddamn lucky son of a bitch . thats all. makes me wanna buy a lotery ticket . now you told me how lucky i was once before. lol thnx great video VenomFangX and stop the bull. we both know you dont believe in gods . you asshole
Do you guys notice how VFX video comments all praise him and say how great he is? Not on negative post. That right off the bat made me think somthing was up about that guy.
It's because he has "approve comments" on. He simply doesn't approve any comments except the ones that make him look good.
This is especially amusing because he often brags about how his comments pages are full of praise for him, whereas atheist videos are full of anger and vitriol. He's just a cowardly little worm.
Indeed it is! It's the Kefka theme. I also use it as the theme song for the TOTALLY FICTIONAL character, PoisonClawZ, in my animated series, The Fundies.
I love the FF3 (6 in Japan) soundtracks you used in this great video. However, you are kind of making me rethink how awesome Kefka was...for I will forever associate him with VFX. :(
This confirms what I have long suspected about creationists: 99.9999% of them have never had an original thought. They just repeat each other endlessly, like a pet shop full of parrots cussing on a row of perches without really knowing what they are saying. This explains why they all use the same arguments.
h t h h t... the chances that, this particular result of coin flips occured is 1 in 2^100 which is insane and is way smaller than the probabilitys in the video. so what was I doing for the last 15min because its virtualy impossible that I flipped that sequence. am i god now.
His whole argument is "If things were different, things would be different." If the earth were 5% closer to the sun, it is possible we might not exist, but that does NOT mean that NO life will exist either.
The whole probability portion is just wrong. If I dealt out 5 hands of cards (any cards) what are the odds that I ever deal out that same set of 5 hands with the same cards in the same order? Almost zero, just like VFXs probability of life equation.
ya he steals it he mgiht as well say. Glad to see someone who shows that he stole it all. I still feel bad about voting the first video of this because I thought it was another video made by a venomfangx fan who would try to show him bein right. I wish he owuld not steal everythign and use science to dispel science.
I am a fan boi? Or you are a fan boi, or someone else is a fan boi and poor little neo has to listen to him? I'm sure it made sense in your head when you wrote it. I get the condescension here, but beyond that, your comment could use a little more coherence. Even insults must carry the burden of explaining themselves, or they just kind of fall flat and leave the commentator appearing inarticulate.
Whoa there, young buck! One insult at a time! You have to finish your first one. Given that your little burst of hostility was in response to my video criticism of VFX, it just didn't make much sense that your big insult was to call me a VFX fan boi.
Now, all you have to do is make some connection, no matter how remote, that would attach me to the "fan boi" label, and your insult will be complete! Granted, it's likely to be a poorly crafted insult. Maybe stick to the more obvious, "You fat."
lol, I'm sorry if I insulted you. I went to far, my bad. As for a connection, do I really need to make one? its written on your channel, in this videos description, and it motivates the majority of your videos.
I saw only the intent to insult, but couldn't quite piece together exactly what the insult was. I guess I thought a "fanboi" was someone who vigorously promotes and defends a person or thing. The bit about "attempting" to look intelligent was a bit more direct, but I wasn't really concerned about it.
And yes, I have fixated on, not so much VFX, but what I consider the VFX "phenomenon." I address the apparent fact that many, many people practically worship someone who is not at all deserving.
Yes but I would go even further and say that all religion is the cause of most of the problems we see everyday-he just happens to be stupid as well as delusional.
hmm I could agree with you but its more like religion is nothing more than a car, you can either drive it and have it to your and other's benefit or you can drive it over people and be a sociopath.
Thats a very good way of looking at it but sadly I feel you are in the minority amongst those who profess to be reigious.I may be wrong and I hope I'm wrong.Maybe it's because the nutters are the loudest and we hear them more but there does seem to be a lot of people out there using religion as an excuse to behave appallingly.
Haha, he states obvious facts in his videos. Why doesn't he just express his easily-defeated views instead of repeating those who are smarter than him, and know FAR more than him on anything? Ah, but now I can't take him more, because he's also a fan of Venom (grrrr).
I agree with your views on this guy. Unlike other Christians on youtube VFX is actually doing real damage. Imagine a 10yr old child watching his videos, imagine the hate and resentment he'd instill in children. He has the characteristics to qualify as a sociopath so it's not suprising he's popular and has a massive cult following (remember Ted Bundy?). Be thankful this isn't the 13th century and he isn't our future king.
but neoprometheus where you a christian before? i think i heard it in one of your vids. if so why did you change your mind?? not many christians become atheist.
Hey cyclotane. Thanks for the comment. I seem to remember you raising a question like this to me somewhere before, but if so, it has been a while and I'm not sure if I responded. The answer could be quite involved, but I would suggest you see my video "Why I am Agnostic" (/watch?v=X4XWZLG31GE), for a general explanation and use that as a starting point for more questions.
also note how VFX slightly alters the science numbers or message:
From science program, water sustainable zone -5% to +20%
From VFX video -5% to +"a FEW percent"
Another funny tidbit: VFX did not give the ACTUAL outcome of the formula, they just stated the "negative side" and didn't compare it to actual number of solar systems.
ALSO this is the formula for OUR kind of LIFEFORMS.
Note that we ARE adapted to suit THIS kind of environment.
The creationist are trying to make it seem like this solarsystem (or even this universe) has been made FOR US, "fine tuned for us."
That BS nonsense is just like placing the earth at the center of this universe and everything else revolves around our pityful flat circular object with four corners (isn't that what the bible says?).
I'm friggin happy we are stuck to this planet. I would not have creationism spread to other places
The fact that thinking matter exists in this random universe on this particular planet is amazing. Also,we happy few are self aware, and we can explain the organization of atoms using true science which is real, objective, knowable. We lucky atomic permutations have memories-a sense of past,present,future-making true science repeatable. We try to persuade other bits of matter our bit is really on to the ultimate truest true bit...atheism is very closed-minded:)
I would agree insofar that any position which takes such speculations about ultimately unverifiable conclusions, and elevates those speculations to the status of "Ultimate Truth," to the summary exclusion of all other possibilities, in disregard of all evidence to the contrary, is indeed closed-minded.
Well that was once again scary and amusing at the same time. The scary part being that there are actually people who take this at face value without a single doubt entering their mind.
Maybe you should reupload some of these vote botted vids.

Man, what an idiot.
Where to begin..
KurNorock 3 years ago 2
But no matter how improbable the odds of any set of five hands of cards, every time I deal a set of five hands, one of them WILL show up.
And by the way, the earth is NOT in a perfect circular orbit around the sun. We have known it is an elliptical (oval) orbit for some time now.
Also, adding the words "...and makes life impossible" to the end of a scientific statement does not make it true.
It is funny however that VFX will use and trust science when he can twist it around to suit him.
KurNorock 3 years ago
But he just simply refuses to even grasp the very basic ideas behind evolution, big bang, abiogenesis, and even geology.

Thats a very good way of looking at it but sadly I feel you are in the minority amongst those who profess to be reigious.I may be wrong and I hope I'm wrong.Maybe it's because the nutters are the loudest and we hear them more but there does seem to be a lot of people out there using religion as an excuse to behave appallingly.

hmm.. I at least believe that there is a silent majority out there. They just need to stop being silent.

Haha, he states obvious facts in his videos. Why doesn't he just express his easily-defeated views instead of repeating those who are smarter than him, and know FAR more than him on anything? Ah, but now I can't take him more, because he's also a fan of Venom (grrrr).
Mythosician06 4 years ago
I agree with your views on this guy. Unlike other Christians on youtube VFX is actually doing real damage. Imagine a 10yr old child watching his videos, imagine the hate and resentment he'd instill in children. He has the characteristics to qualify as a sociopath so it's not suprising he's popular and has a massive cult following (remember Ted Bundy?). Be thankful this isn't the 13th century and he isn't our future king.

hey i love ur vids!
but neoprometheus where you a christian before? i think i heard it in one of your vids. if so why did you change your mind?? not many christians become atheist.
cyclotane 4 years ago
Hey cyclotane. Thanks for the comment. I seem to remember you raising a question like this to me somewhere before, but if so, it has been a while and I'm not sure if I responded. The answer could be quite involved, but I would suggest you see my video "Why I am Agnostic" (/watch?v=X4XWZLG31GE), for a general explanation and use that as a starting point for more questions.

Great job. I don't know how you manage to watch more than a minute of VFX's videos without throwing your computer out the window.

too, funny. Saw you gave the video 5 stars,a true class act. As a mindless(er...brain-activity follower?) I give it 5/5 stars also.

also note how VFX slightly alters the science numbers or message:
From science program, water sustainable zone -5% to +20%
From VFX video -5% to +"a FEW percent"
Another funny tidbit: VFX did not give the ACTUAL outcome of the formula, they just stated the "negative side" and didn't compare it to actual number of solar systems.
ALSO this is the formula for OUR kind of LIFEFORMS.
Paxmax 4 years ago
Note that we ARE adapted to suit THIS kind of environment.
The creationist are trying to make it seem like this solarsystem (or even this universe) has been made FOR US, "fine tuned for us."
That BS nonsense is just like placing the earth at the center of this universe and everything else revolves around our pityful flat circular object with four corners (isn't that what the bible says?).
I'm friggin happy we are stuck to this planet. I would not have creationism spread to other places
Paxmax 4 years ago
The fact that thinking matter exists in this random universe on this particular planet is amazing. Also,we happy few are self aware, and we can explain the organization of atoms using true science which is real, objective, knowable. We lucky atomic permutations have memories-a sense of past,present,future-making true science repeatable. We try to persuade other bits of matter our bit is really on to the ultimate truest true bit...atheism is very closed-minded:)
PappyRoo 4 years ago
I would agree insofar that any position which takes such speculations about ultimately unverifiable conclusions, and elevates those speculations to the status of "Ultimate Truth," to the summary exclusion of all other possibilities, in disregard of all evidence to the contrary, is indeed closed-minded.

Well that was once again scary and amusing at the same time. The scary part being that there are actually people who take this at face value without a single doubt entering their mind.
