@AiaAziz LOL, thanks for the compliment and the concern. Yes, I'm a little less tired now than when I made the account. I just remember it being late, I had a hectic day and wanted to make the account primarily to put my daughter's band performances online, but also to share vacation videos and all, but I was "Extremely Tired" so that's where the name came from. It fit and got the job done!
One of our favorite pre-dinner places on the Westerdam was the Ocean Bar. The bartenders, Billy and Ding, are great guys! That's not to say any other bars or amenities were anything less than great, but we just found the Ocean Bar's two bartenders to be a cut above the rest.
I didn't see a place dedicated for teens, which is a pity. We had 4 teens with us & they didn't get bored, but there should be more for teens to do. There's stuff for younger kids & a really nice library/DVD rental area, but nothing just for teens. Our teens roamed the boat, sat in the hot tub, ordered room service (the only way to get REALLY GOOD chocolate cake!) & taking pix/videos. Much of our time was spent on adventures like ziplining & riding high-speed rafts out to volcanic islands.
That's the truth! If you like to eat then you have constant entertainment! Oh, and I LOVE to eat, but I didn't find out about the super-good chocolate cake that was only available from room service until after the trip. My silly daughter didn't think to tell me about it for the entire 8 days we were aboard and she knows one of my favorite things in the whole world is chocolate cake with cold milk! I'm gonna make her live outside! :o)
Okay, I just talked to my wife and she said there IS a teen lounge on the Westerdam! I'm sorry for telling you wrong, but since my teens don't speak to me much I was left out of the loop! There's "The Loft", a lounge hangout place, "The Oasis" which is outside and there's even culinary arts classes for teens. So I guess there's more to do than I realized. Sorry about the confusion.
@coralprincess25 We just got back from a Norwegian Cruise Lines trip and while the food and service were excellent (the food was actually a little better than on Holland America, if you can believe that) the rest was sub-par. They have what they call "Freestyle Cruising" which means when you go into the really nice restaurant all dressed up for dinner you might be sitting next to goobers in cut-off shorts and straw hats. Kinda puts a damper on the mood. Holland America is much better!
I just wanted to say that your usersname 'ExtremelyTiredDad' had me laughing loudly for about five minutes. I hope you are rested now...
