Can anyone identify the cause that you think it sounds "electronically" to you all who think that? It seems to me it's just a collection of virtual hardware that you have control over what it sounds like, I believe you can make any kind of sound or groove you want in it and the outcome is the result of exactly what you did, not what reason did to it (of course except for things like shuffle, arpegiator, etc, which does not sound mechanical to me tho..

im not a beatmaker and i suck whenever i try lol. but if you take an MPC or a TRITON or maybe some of the software programs, i can usually guess what was used to make it, im not always right though. dont get me wrong i know alot of great reason beats that iv heard that are better than some of the other platforms i previously mentioned. maybe i heard alot of electronically reason stuff. lol.

Regarding hip-hop - I can't off hand. I have friends who produce electronic music (name a genre, there are so many!) professionally. Some use Logic, some use Reason, some use Reason and Ableton Live together. I'm not necessarily talking about top 10 chart hit pop stars, but professional musicians. It's not the equipment/software you use, but how you use it. If you like house music (proper house music now!), google "educution". You'll find his myspace, and he uses Reason and makes crazy grooves.
