At some point it becomes obvious that politicians are out of money to buy votes to stay in office, resulting in serious financial "corrections".

That is why the downgrade happened, Not because someone tried to actually cut spending. stop trying to blame others and pass the buck. Maybe in '12 we'll hold those responsible for fighting a balanced budget, and just wanted a auto debt limit raise.

That idiotic DC stopped the push for real cuts is a reason for the downgrade. Not the tea party.
