  • what kind of performance gains did you get?

  • My v6 sits at about alitte over the 160 mark

  • What a awesome sound, I just bought a 96 with the 3800 for the gas savings but your car brings back of memories of when I had my 86 Iroc, just might have to play with the engine.

  • umm your car is running a bit hot

  • @sylveskyl dunno why you would say that, its setting a little less than half way.

  • umm your car is running a bit hot

  • i have a car just like yours, mines stock tho, :/ im a member on camarov6.com and have been wondering what cam do u have. ? i was thinking a vS cam or a gt cam?

  • @medrano4321 I am a member on there, but dont frequent it much, I am mainly on v6f-body.com

As for the gam, this one was with the Abbott N/A cam, though I had a GT2 in it before this setup.

  • @lilchubby11 what cam did u like the best and what, were u mods?

  • what is the estamite charge to install a cam?

  • @picklz69 You are tipically looking at 300-500 for pure labor on a cam install. It really depends on your area.

  • dam that sounds beast

  • @martinez7470 Thanks man, i really miss that sound. Was awesome for a V6.

  • I herd Breaking Benjamin... plus the cammed Camaro, love it.

and yet i was just listening to that song...

  • @Curt705900 Breaking Benjamin, plus a lopy cam...............CANT BEAT IT

  • Have you ever taken it to the track or dyno?

  • @Naturalhit

Unfortuently I never got to after getting this setup going. From some of the races i had on the "track" I would have put it in the high 13's(13.8-13.9) in the quater. I have since sold it though.

  • Could you Please Give me the Full setup and What all that might cost me? Please reply,

    Thanks

  • hi, what kind of hood is set up in you camaro, cz looks good on it, what model is the hood sunnoco or what kind ans how many inche tal?l,,, let me konw please, thanks you..........., have ah nice day'

  • Wanna know more

  • I do wanna know me but I'm not sure what a pm is sorry

  • actually i want the gt2 cam you have in your other vid but does this cam make more hp or torque? what was your reason for changing cams?

  • @sweetv6camaroguy

Sorry to take so long to get back to you. I acutally just got rid of this car, but am more than happy to give details. Never got dyno numbers. The cams were almost idenical, though the gt2 was easier to tune for. They say the abbott makes a bit more power, but they felt the same to me. I only switched cause i was doing a whole new motor and wanted to compare the two. If you wanna know more feel free to shoot me a pm.

  • how much horsepower are you making with this setup? exact cam i want to do to my 98 camaro

  • sickly v6 camaro...best one i have seen...ls1 or otherwise

  • fucking sick. did u install the cam yourself ? i know the cam kit is like 800 bucks total. plus u still have to get someone to install it

  • thanks man you jus gave me blue balls..... should of REVVVED IT!!!! BRO hahaha

  • Aww man I want my firebird to sound this way, totally jealous.

What do you mean by custom 3" catback? What's going on back there? :D Assuming there actually IS a cat in there, since you say catback. I've got Pacesetter headers, just trying to get the rest so I can attempt to match the sound :)

  • @Torenhire

Sorry that was some bad wording there , was just in a rush to get the video up. My exact setup was...pacesetter headers, No cat, a custom mandrel bent 3" pipe from the Pacesetter Y-pipe back, to a maganflow muffler

  • @lilchubby11 Thanks, sorry for the late reply. The Pacesetters I've got have 2.5" out, did you get a 3" set, or did you do the same 2.5" and just have them up it to 3" off the Y-pipe? Gonna get the exhaust work done hopefully in a week or two, then it's off to engine-mod heaven. Thanks again for the reply!

  • @Torenhire 3 inch would be kinda big wouldnt it for a v6

  • @pewpscoop Not necessarily. For an N/A setup, 3" is kind of overkill, but if you're going FI, then you should really bump up to 3", or at the least 2.75"

  • Whats the camaro v6 forum? I have one and love it.

  • @Pauly2k12

you have a pm, youtube wont let me post it in the comments

  • @lilchubby11 Whats a PM??

  • @Pauly2k12

private message. you should be able to see it by going to your youtbe profile and looking in your inbopx.

  • sickest v6 camaro i've seen

  • @washburnelectric

Thanks, sadly I just sold it. Hopefully the new owner keeps it going.

  • Where did you find the cowl hood at?

  • @Revolutionstudios88

I acutally found it for sale on a forum, however its made by glasstek

  • You still have the TSP Rumbler on that?

  • where did u get that grill

  • @Elvisnewyork

I actually bought a standard billet grill, painted it black, then bought a chevy emblem from the chevy s10 xtreme edition that goes on the there front grill and attached it.

  • @lilchubby11 thanks man it looks awsome keep up the good work ur car is great...thank u for the fast reply

  • @Elvisnewyork

No problem, if you have a v6 camaro/firebird yourself we have a forum just for that. Message me if you interested, and if not, thanks for checking out the car.

  • i have a 3.4, i did the comp 260 cam swap but it doesnt really lope very much... my car holds idle at 1k though so im wondering if i bring the idle down would it lope more at idle an if so does anyone know how i'd go about lowering the idle without getting a tune?

  • @quiksixx95

unfortunetly you will have to have a tune to mess with that. But yes, lowering you idle (between 600-800 would be best) will make the lope stand out more. We have a member on our forum that is big into the 3.4's. if you would like pm me and i can give you the details on the forum.

  • @jpowell1906

    Thanks alot man

  • @jpowell1906

yes it physically just slides right back in where you old one come out. Nothing special that has to be done there

  • @jpowell1906

You have to go to the 3800 section, and then on down the page you will see a couple of cams listed. You need the abbott n/a cam. You will need to add stiffer springs (comp 105's are good), hardened 7.00" pushrods, and steel moded retainers. All of this can be found on the GM 3800-V6 section on abbotracingheads

  • @jpowell1906

Yes there are certain specs that give it that pop (generally called lope). You can get a custom cam to give you the same effect, or you can buy the Gt2 or Abbott n/a cam. I can post links here but if you message me i can provide them for you.

  • @iiWISEii

I dont know how i missed this comment, but thanks, i 100% agree. As the saying goes, "to each his own"

  • thats things nice...what head lights are those

i have an rs im trying to work on some

  • @01BALLISTIC

Those are just some black halo style off of ebay. I have since replaced them with Sonar Projectors. I would look into those if i were you. The light output is better, and i like the overall style a little better as well.

  • wow dude.gorgeous camaro.this is like the exact paint/color combo i would have a 98-02 in.either that or blue or silver, but its just perfect man.ever run this beast?

  • @rockerdude29

Its weird you said that, because if not for the black/red, i would definetly do a blue/black thing. Thanks for the compliments though. The car was ran before it was cam'd, so it was only headers, intake, and a few other little free mods ,and in the 1/8th mile it went 9.6x. I think as it sits it has a sub 9sec 1/8th mile (or high 13 sec quater mile). Hopefully when it warms up i can get to the track. Just not found the time to go this year.

  • @lilchubby11 thats awesome man.you should definitely throw a turbo/supercharger on there.theres a twin turbo 3800 firebird that runs 8s on YouTube.Id imagine you could be in the 12s with a few more big mods.Always nice to see some 3800/F body love.honestly the 3800 is my favorite engine ever.hands down, but I do have an LT1 trans am,just for the sake of its already quick, and easier to get hp out of,but hey man the extra work and love in your 6 is what makes it really special.

  • nice maro bro were can i buy a new cam for mine?

  • @MrJpowell1906

your best options are from zzperformace (look under the cams section and the GT cams), or from abbott racing heads (abbott NA cam)

  • question not to be an ass.. But why do people put a ton of time effort and money into their v6 muscle cars?

  • @danmartin0015

Why question is why not? People mod what they have. Not everyone can get an ls1 (money reasons, insurance reasons, etc). You can have fun with, and mod any car. To some it not about being the fastest, its about being unique. I think a cam'd v6 camaro is pretty unique myself.

  • hey man what size camm is that? sounds real mean.

  • @russobro

Here are the specs, 216°/216° at .050"

Intake Lift .317" (.507" lift at 1.6:1 rocker ratio)

Exhaust Lift .317" (.507" lift at 1.6:1 rocker ratio)

    111 LSA

  • Should have gone with the 18inch rims!! Way better than 17's....

  • how much hp

  • What pushrods are you using with that setup? I just put an Abbott cam and 105# springs in my 3.8l for a turbo build, and it looks like the pushrods are flexing and hitting the head gasket.

  • @pipes12334

I am using the hardened 7.00", which is what's recommend. I am using the Abbott na can though, which isn't a good match for a turbo.

  • Hey, I have an 02 3.8L Pontiac Firebird. I love the way your cam sounds. I'm putting an SLP Loudmouth exhaust on my car along with 4:10 gears. I want to cam it but its expensive. I was wondering what you suggest. Is it worth doing the cam? If so where can I find the cam you have in your car I love the way it sounds!

  • @MajesticProductions1

It really comes down to whether you want to spend the money. For me the sound alone was worth it. If you have the know how to do it itself on would say do it for sure. If not ER rockers from zzp are a good cheap alternative. You can get my camera Abbott Racing. PM me for more specifics, I will be glad to help all I can only advise and tips.

  • i have a 94 3.4 liter camaro, its all stock but after i get some money i hope to build it up

  • @94camaro92

its a good platform to start with. good luck with it.

  • love it my l36 sounds just like it

  • how much did it cost u to cam? i got a 3.8 96 camaro it sounds decent now

  • @arnoni11

well for the cam, push rods, valve springs, retainers, new timing chain (would recommend), fluids, etc i paid right about 700 bucks. where you really save money is on labor by doing it yourself. You will then also need a tune (depending on which cam you go with). Since your a 96, you would have to buy a 97 pcm first to be able to tune.

  • @lilchubby11 would that put value up on my car is it hard to a pcm in? what kind would i need to get??? i got the money just debating i got 157000 on my car but my trany has around 60k would that be worth it

  • @arnoni11

putting the pcm in itself it easy, just 1 bolt. You would need someone with HP tuners to tune it for you (unless you wanted to buy the software and do it yourself). As far as what kind you need, you just need to find a stock computer from a 97 camaro (to save time i would get one that had the same type of tranny, auto or manual). There is plenty of life left on that motor too, a cam would be fine with it.

  • @lilchubby11 ok thanks ill look into it where would it be located at? would it be on the motor

  • @arnoni11

it will be located in the very top left (passenger side) corner of the engine bay. it will have a huge wiring harness going into it. it kind of sits under the windshield cowl.

  • I have a 99 3.8 and looking at getting it cammed. Why did you change from the GT2 cam to the Abbott N/A? What is better about it?

  • @murdacm

My main reason for changing was that the Abbott usually makes a little more power (from experience with others dyno numbers). Really though they are pretty close to identical, so you can go wrong either way.

  • @lilchubby11

Oh ok. Thanks for explaining man. I had both your videos bookmarked for reference to what I want to do, and then I noticed they were both the same guy. Sounds nice as hell. What hood is that? Siiiiiick. So mean lookin'

  • @murdacm

Thanks man, I've put alot of work into it. The hood is a 4" cowl from glasstek. I'm tacking some suspension this weekend, lowering it and doing lca's and panhard bar. Hope to have new vids/pics up soon.

  • Beautiful Camaro... sounds great

  • @iBanditAllDay

Wouldnt say perfect, but i've spent a lot of time on it. Hoping to add a few upgrades very soon in the future.

  • dude what rims or those?

  • @DWELLER001

These are the y2k corvette wheels (17s in the front 18's out back). did the painting myself on them.

  • @Camaromandave98

    Thanks man

  • I'd like to see more vids of the Camaro. It sounds great, and looks the part.

  • @2001camaro11

anything is possible with time and money, but it would cost a lot. i think ive seen it done before, the lines dont flow well at all.

  • where did you get that grill from??? i need to know asap

  • @batmana2i

just a regular billet one off ebay. ran me like 40 bucks. i painted it solid black myself.

  • @lilchubby11 thanx man i really appreciate it..

  • wats the nu,bers on the camaro?

  • @joevon21

should have the anwser to that on the 23rd. planin on a dyno trip.

  • What kind of muffler are you running on the exhaust?

  • @Red2000FBody

    magnaflow

  • @2001camaro11

    v6f-body

  • @2001camaro11

No the motor doesnt have to come out. As a matter of fact you could get away with not pulling the radiator as well if you dont want. There is plenty of room up front once all the accessories have been pulled. If you want some more details just pm me, we also have a v6 camaro/firebird site that i moderate on that can help alot.

  • hey lilchubby great job! youve gotta get some 1/4 times or dyno runs for us fans! Did you find better gains with the gt2 cam or the abbot?

  • @countthunder

I definetly plan on it soon. Im waiting for a couple other v6 guys to hit the dyno with me and will do the track soon after. I believe there are going to be a bit better gains with the abbott, it also seems to not have the idle surge problem the gt2 had when coming to a stop. I will be sure to update as soon as i can.

  • that is by far the nicest 3.8 ive seen on youtube. hands down. nice job! how about some fly bys or take offs

  • @ATVRider6840 Thanks, i will try and get some soon. the motor was just broke so i havent been hard on it to much yet. Hopefully a dyno video is coming soon.

  • effin NICE!! wanne see (hear) more of your 3.8! post some revs please!!!

    :D

  • i will try and get some more when the car is broke in and tuned.

  • god damn that sounds good.

  • The major stuff is in the descrpition (cam, with supporting mods, bolt-ons etc). There is a whole list of apperance and such as well.

  • Very nice Camaro. What work did you do to the v6?
