I love that signature laugh at the end of all of the skits. It has cracked me up for years. It really makes me miss the good ole days growing up in Cleveland
Man, I grew up on Houlihan and Big Chuck, and then later on Big Chuck and Lil John. Godzilla movies, B-grade sci-fi ... and those Boring British Cinemas!
But it wasn't the same for me after they moved from Friday to Saturday.
I wish they would put out a comprehensive DVD set with every one of the skits. I would stand in line to buy it.
Jay Lawrence is still on the radio in Phoenix (very elderly but still working) and he says they used his laugh for almost fifty years. We exchanged emails about a year ago.
Being from Michigan, but having cousins in Youngstown, I only saw Houlihan and Big chuck about three times. Nevertheless, I developed a great affection for local TV of this nature, and have always thought that local stations should loosen up and let local wiseacres have airtime, especially late at night on Friday and Saturday nights.
Easy on the jealousy man. We ohioan's know that we are better than the rest of you. You sound like one of those georgia boys. What, do we need to burn atalanta to the ground again, in order for you to remdember to respect your betters once again.
