  • Effortless cool. He is one of the coolest men in rock!

  • Just Brilliant

  • Shit...he makes it look so easy

  • Kev was...and is...one of the best guitarists in the world - Maybe not the fastest, by any means...but what band wouldn't beg for him to join them?

I heard his concentration derives from meditation before the gig...plus a little amphet-snifter to focus just that litle bit extra.... Nowt wrong wi that.

  • If you watch Geordie, I think he's in a state of meditation on stage or channelling something. Or maybe he's just stoned ha ha ha. But he does go somewhere else when he plays. A fucking cast iron genius.

  • Anyone know the tracks being played in this vid?

  • REhearsals except for the last track which is "Blame And Demand"

  • Hence the phrase "better than you".....

  • I've played for a hundred years, everything from space-punk freakouts to Disney records....this is the one guy whose guitar playing is still a mystery to me. I was always able to figure out Hendrix, Beck, Fripp, etc and i know he tunes down a whole step -- It's not what he plays, it's the fucking SOUND that comes outta that guitar. Nobody else gets it. Great post!

  • I understand geordie walker better than you. i have figured him out.

  • Do tell.

  • No, I'd rather keep it to myself, thanks.

  • Yeah, he's not all that technically accomplished like yer Steve Vais and yer Kirk Hammetts, but no one else can make that infernal bloody noise of his. Massive respect.

  • same thing i was thinking here.

  • The man is fucking legend!

  • one of the best guitarists ever

  • @junglesam THE greatest

  • What s the song he is playing at the end ? I can t recognize it ! Is it just a demo ? Awesome sound !Can anyone tell me ?Geordie is the King !

  • @semtex91 Blame and Demand by Damage Manual from their first album.

  • I agree one of the best guitar players ever! Paul Furguson is one of the best drummers ever combined with Jaz and Raven-Youth what a musically solid band!

    They amazing live also.

If you check out Geordie's myspace page the little green music player has 12 demo solo tracks from 2007 on there. I usually crank up the first track and put it on repeat. Great stuff!

  • God, I could listen to this all day! Awesome!!!! Many thanks for posting this.

  • He plays like no one else!

Unique sound, unique play, great guitarist and great band!!!!

  • one of the best guitarists that ever lived

  • don´t anyone know the last song he´s plaing?

  • That is the end of "Scissor Quickstep" from the Damage Manual CD "one".

A lot of great Geordie sounds and chords on this album. Due to involvement of others also some weaker songs.

  • the song is "blame and demand",not "scissor quickstep".

  • sorry, i'm not so into the DM titles. This track is very cool anyway.

  • No one can be compared to him as guitar player / music composer. His style is breathtaking.

Listen especially the Judas Goat and Walking With Gods from last album. I'm listening Killing Joke from 1989 but the last two albums are the best ones besides Revelations from 1983, for me. Thats unbelivable - they are much older now, but better and better. Very rare, especially besides musicians.

  • @mp3chudaci lol dude its great that you're a big killing joke fan like me, but get your years right lol. The Courtland Talks came out in 89, Outside the Gate came out in 88, and Revelations came out in 82. Fire Dances came out in 83 lol

  • @jmiester25 my only mistake is Revelations, I didn't mention nothing from 1989 (I just found Killing Joke music)

  • @PetrMatas my bad.

  • it seems so easy to play guitar when you see him !!

  • Has he had that guitar forever and ever or something . I've only ever seen him using the

    ES 295 .

  • I found a pic of him playing this Aria model once...

  • He played a Les Paul around Pandemonium time, you can find clips on the net. Whether tht's because his ES was in repair I dunno mate.

  • When he started with KJ in 1979 he used a Gibson SG. If you listen to the early albums you will see that he does not need an ES295 at all. There has never been a more cool guitarsound then the SG in "the hum" from "Revelations"!

  • Oh yeah I totally agree. However, I think Geordie's tone has always been cool. Even his newer stuff is thick, rich and creamy.

  • @Eric22 Absolutely agreed.

  • I met him in Munich after a gig in 2003 (?). He was talking to a guy who obviously had some problems playing the guitar. Geordie told him: "Create your own chords - I do it all the time". A very, very nice guy who took his time talking to me. I will never forget it - an immense experience. I can still see him caressing the guitar on stage and make it look so easy, while still making the sound of a rebellious chainsaw. Fantastic guy.

  • Agreed - the greatest most original every. Geordie is KING

  • I agree with the previous comments; NO ONE has his sound. What's amazing is that he isn't flashy, fast, and never solos. When he plays, his sound is huge, like a wah-wah tsunami. Thanks for the post Scornocopia!

  • Especially the "never solos" part pleases me the most.

  • and he is still better than most guitar players that do solo

  • He used to take the piss out of my hair, but he has almost lost all of his now ... Then again, so have I ! He is a ONE OFF and a FANTASTIC, UNIQUE, and ORIGINAL guitar player. Legend.

  • One of the best & most original guitar players ever! The Geordie sound frickin' rules. He should be in the hall of fame.

  • Thanks for this. Geordie kicks ass
