This Brings back the memories before shipudden, when saskue wasn't a rouge ninja, when naruto still had only the rasengan, and when sakura could do nothing. I miss the old naruto :( but the thing that saffens me most is that they never cleared up the old series, basically, saskue left and they couldn't get him back. This is my favorite TV song. (i miss the old naruto)

During the first main plot arc, when Sasuke had died before their eyes; you realize that these twelve-year-olds are not learning self defense; they were preparing to be soldiers. At that moment any notion that a glorious shinobi life was dispelled - while still children, they had willingly entered an adult life of killing and death. Sadness and sorrow.

@rm2kmidi dude the show still has meaning just because allot of people have bloated the series, if you watch it now its still as good its just continuing the story, the only problem is filler if anything this shippuden series is more dramatic and action packed as the original

@platinumkaabii Then why don't I feel the same way? Why doesn't Naruto feel as meaningful anymore. I would say it's the fact that they've flooded the plot with filler and stretched certain themes beyond any reasonable suspension of disbelief. The characters now seem like hollow caricatures of themselves. Except perhaps in the major scenes, Naruto is forced to revert to this 12-year old class clown. Don't get me wrong, I still watch it, but simply raising the stakes doesn't make it more dramatic.

@rm2kmidi I agree, however, it also brings to mind in Shippuden, where Naruto finally confronts Sasuke for the last time before the War. How him and Sasuke read each other's hearts, and Naruto says he will take all Sasuke's hate....and die with him. And in the next life, they won't be enemies, the Kyuubi, or the Uchiha...instead, they'll just be friends.

Naruto always saw Sasuke as who he was, as his comrade, and his friend. Shippuden has more depth then people give it credit for :)

Naruto is awesome! i ordered an ocarina and this is the first one i want to learn to play. the series is... everything.. fun, exciting, emotional and as sad as it sounds, relates to some things in life =] it's by far the best anime out there in my opinion. just a shame the original consisted of about 200 fillers but hey, its awesome in shippuden! =D
