This guy is absolutely amazing, In my opinion the most humble and considerate contestant to ever come out of that shit show and the best Vocalist. I remember Mariah Carey singing that same night and she mimed her performance then Elliott came out and sang like that, just days after his Mum dying.

Among other things, the way he hugs Ryan is so telling of what a good soul Elliott is. It's a genuine hug; it's always that way with Elliott. With all of the bs people dish out on TV nowadays & all of the pathetic vying for attention, Elliott is a breath of fresh air. He's real every time he gets up on a stage, & he's a true talent.

singers hold a candle to Elliott's smoky, jazzy voice and vibrato. I had never been a fan of the cheesy American Idol until my sons begged me to turn it on that season because they knew Elliott from his former high school.

He blew me away.

Mariah had to pre-tape her song (in several takes) with the lighting and camera angles all set up for her approval. Elliott just strolled out there and did it all live. He's just amazing. If you haven't seen this guy i concert, don't miss him next time he comes around!!! (And to Cookie's credit, he did the writing-on-the-hand thing on IGB the previous week).
