Yip, this bird just doesn't do it ! It looks all wrong ! Some aircraft are just Beautiful , like the Boeings or TriStars , or Burt Rutans Long-Eze's .... This aircraft , built from different parts of the EU (with their different temperaments!) just doesn't hack it.
I don't care how big this thing is, it is ugly. Yeah, I know it's a technological wonder and all that, but it will always be a bloated fat-assed turkey to me. If this is the result of what it takes to be the biggest airliner of all-time, then Airbus can have the title. I'll sacrifice a few feet of length, width and height with the 747-8, and enjoy the sleek, sexy lines. The A380 may be the King of the sky, but nothing compares to the Queen...and nothing will.
I dont see the point , the plane is alllowed to accelerate well under 30 secs, and then at 30 secs brakes are applied,.... the test doesnt seem to be realistic
I guess the rejection would have been from V1 (decision speed), well short of normal takeoff speed. Also it looks like they didn't use reverse thrust to stop (brakes only).
@mikehore They don't use reverse because RTO may be in case of engine failure, so o reverse available… it's the worst case scenario : max speed (V1), max load and no reverse…

I think they are afraid it will not compare to the Boeing 747-800. This was a weak rejected takeoff...

@mikehore
It was just one RTO is also on the distance and the size of the aircraft. When you see the A319 but rather the speed.
