could you imagine taking an astronomy course in Cornell University with Carl Sagan? must have been something to remember. i would have been satisfied with attending to at least a seminar or a conference... there is something about the way he narrates that makes this series addictive.
I agree. It's twenty years older than that silly "planets" thing the BBC did and it's still WAY better. Sagan mops the floor with Sam Neil. Sam Neil? He's not even a scientist! I wish somebody could come up with a worthy successor.
I love the moon Titan, oceans and rivers and lakes...full of liquid methane, liquid natural gases...volcanoees that spew forth ice...*sigh* A new home.
It is sad that he didn't get to see the Cassini mission, but a man as intelligent and forward-thinking as Sagan would have realized most of his wonderful dreams for the future of humanity would be achieved after he himself had died. His contributions in life, however, would be as important as those who would man the missions of the future, as he helped to inspire the next generation of scientist and layperson to continue exploring the Cosmos.
Thanks a lot for uploading these; i've ordered the complete series, but impatience brought me to youtube. Carl Sagan is definetly one of those I try to keep in mind when it comes to lecturing.
And that last part was pretty damn sad, that he never got to see the results from Cassini-Huygens. The Saturn eclipse photo still make me stare in wonder.
Not to sound cliché but if you like the video you should also get the book. If there was anyone I idolized in life Carl Sagan would be one of them. Nothing is more admirable than pursuit and presentation of the truth imho.

This is a series that inspired me to learn science. Thanks so much for uploading these episodes. I have a question though, will you upload the others as well? Just wondering. Once again, thanks dude :)

It's a shame he never got to see the images from Cassini. Especially the Eclipse of Saturn image.
