  • @MrXAVIERDB They went for about $1000 3 years ago, now I believe they're in and around the same price. I'm actually selling mine right now for $800, same inlay on the neck though it's black burst. Sadly it's barely been played. Comes with the hard case and I JUST had it setup and restrung. Hit me back if you're interested.

  • nicely done :D

  • sehr gut {GER)

  • Wrong neck

  • Right chord....just wrong fret....hehehe.....great version, love this song

  • soo great...

  • Can't believe I hadn't seen this before. One of the best versions on youtube for sure!

  • Friggin SWEET man!! Love the guitar!! The necks have a cool pearly design. Jimmy would like it.

  • Soooo niiiiice dude !

  • Nice Job!

  • this video has officially made me want to get a dot on shaft over the gibson doubleneck. WELL DONE!!!! one of the best covers on youtube by far!

  • Excellent. The 12 string side was especially spot on!

  • Like a pro, No like jimmy!

    Great double neck demo man!

    Just like Led Zepellin

  • DAMNNNNNNNNNNNNNN DUDE

    AWESOMENESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSs

you captured the feeling of this one for sure!!

    also Killer guitar!!!

  • :| Why is it taking so long to load? Is youtube trying to deprive me of beauty? :'(

  • that song is my favorite to jam on an acoustic. that has to be the most beautiful song ever written

  • I love how people who can't play a radio criticize you. I am a music snob, this is one of my favorite tunes and I thought this was excellent.

  • absolutley perfect...loved it!

  • very nice my friend lovely sound

  • Wow, excellent. You are the best my friend. Sounds great and one of the finest video clips on YouTube. Keep up the good work !!

  • You should've played the song remains the same on the 12 and tuned the 6 for the rain song :)

  • beautiful

  • A beautiful song, beautifully done. Thank you!

  • it put me in a trance for 4:03 .. well done.

  • A little stiff but good

  • beautiful playing man, my dad buys his guitars from dot on shaft in barrie. definately getting my next acoustic or electric from there, they make beautiful guitars there...great playing

  • Hey that's great! Yea they have some great guitars and always coming out with new models.

I love the double neck. It's an eye catcher.

Probably my favorite guitar in the studio is the Ivory Tower, a semi hollowbody from dot on shaft. I run it through a JC120 amp and the producer told me it's one of the best sounding guitars he's worked with.

    Happy playing! Cheers!

  • @s0undch4s3r I'm trying to work with the custom shop to see if they could make me one in left handed. I guess it would be considered a signature model...

  • incredible

  • brilliantly played. . .

  • Seriously, that was excellent!!!!!!! I don't think I have ever in my life applauded a video!

  • very clever with the split video

  • Wow, great job! Good idea to do the 12 and 6 string at once! Sounds great.

  • beautiful in all ways

    5 stars

  • I appreciate your nice comment but I wouldn't

go comparing my video to led zepagain's video. They play a great rendition of The Rain Song much like the way Led Zeppelin played it many years ago. Cheers!!

  • i was put to sleep by this...but in the good way

  • i had been looking to buy one of these guitars, but i couldn't shell out the money without playing one, but it looks and sounds awesome, and it seems to play well

  • Talk to Mike at dotonshaft about pricing. I'm sure he can arrange something with you on

    a fair price.

  • it was played perfect in my book. nice job and guitar. :D

but did jimmy play this on the 12 string? or was he using 6 string on the double neck cause it came after some remains the same?

    oh 5 stars. :D

  • thank you all for your kind words.

On "The Song Remains the same", Jimmy played

this on his Gibson double neck, playing the 6 string. The way he wrote this song is pure genius.

  • thank god. the first person on youtube to play the song the right way.

    cheers!

  • Thats a great job man. Who made the guitar?

  • I bought it from dotonshaft dot com.

they have some crazy guitars there.

  • I had never heard of them before but they look and sound very nice.

  • Very nice. Love the camera work. That guitar doesn't look cheap.

  • Nice, refined playing, one of my favorite Zep songs and you did it justice, keep on rockin' Sir!

  • MMmmm, just beautiful. Great playing and well done video.

  • I agree with you. That's the way Jimmy did it. I guess I didn't feel to comfortable playing it as a slide and decided to stick to the strum. Anyway...Cheers.

  • I love the tone of Electric 12 strings.Awesome.

  • Thank you. I'm using the "Acoustic" Patch setting on a BOSS GT6 effects processor on the 12 string.

  • Dude that is cool ....sounds good to me....

  • yes, you are right. It is a slide and not a strum. I made it a strum.

  • Im learning rthis song now can anyone tell me how I tune to a C?

  • Do a google search for:

    "guitar tab led-zeppelin 23615"

That's the same TAB I used. It will show you the

    proper tuning.

  • Oh don't sell yourself short. That was great! Just outta curiosity, how much did that guitar set you back? It had to be mondo expensive!

  • beautifull, now i'm gonna learn it

  • okay so which model of dot on shaft is this one? twin tiger? ba-dasse? let me know because i'm thinking of picking one of these up!

  • The double neck I'm playing is the Ba-dasse.

I'm currently playing in a studio with it. It

has just the right sounds I want out of it and

    is very versatile.

  • great job, but i think the outro at the end should have been either just the 12 string or just the 6, together it kinda mudded it up. otherwise great job.

and hey, how long did it take to tune the 12 string to DGCGCD??? wow eh?

  • YEA...it took me quite a while to tune the 12 string. I agree that the end should be only 1 neck. It does sound a bit muddy. I'll have to redo it another day. Thanks.

  • no problem.

so were u playin that in DGCGCD or one step higher like jimmy does live?

  • I played it as DGCGCD.

  • COOL!!!

  • omg those are some beautiful inlays.

  • I was trying to sing along. I think I hurt something... WAY cool.

  • very fuckn good!

  • Lovely. Really

  • Perfect perfect perfect. Thumbs up.

  • That was very nice... Well played. Inspiring me to buy a little camera thing for my computer to download me playing it. I just might do that. I think i play it a little different though.

  • kept tiem very well

  • Page is definitely a genius.

  • Awesome and very relaxed & relaxing play. You make me feel like trying this tune.

  • this is great, nice choice using two guitars tracks, it sounds so much fuller. check mine out if you get a chance and let me know what you think. Oh by the way was the wrong chord at around 3:07?

  • 3:07....yup, that's the wrong chord. I'm glad my face isn't on the video or you'd see one nasty grimace on that chord...hahahaha

  • very cool. you are very close to jimmy's song he alsu uses several guitars in a song

  • where the fuck did u get that

  • nice job thats a beautiful guitar

  • Well done, you are very good at guitar.

Now, what tuning is this song in?

  • thanks.. i'm using D-G-C-G-C-D rather than E-A-D-G-B-E

  • thanks man. It's a "Dot on Shaft" guitar. They're made in Korea. PRS is also made in Korea.

  • hey man!! whats up??

well i uploaded a new version of my The rain song... the other one didnt satisfy me ahaha

    check it out :P

    :P

    take care

    bye

  • your great

  • Very enjoyable:)Well done Sir:)

  • Thank you for your kind words. BTW..YES is my favorite band. Wish I could play like Steve Howe.

  • ok now my video is available :S

    check it out

  • Are you using stanard tuning or something different?

  • i'm using D-G-C-G-C-D rather than E-A-D-G-B-E

You can find the tab for the song on Google.

Search for "led zeppelin rain song TAB" and you should

    be good to go.

  • Interesting two versions in one veiwing! whats the difference with those two versions on a double necker? (In case your'e wondering why I'm asking such question... Im Deaf and I do enjoy music myself! ;))

  • the difference is, the 12 string emulates the acoustic feel of the song. Jimmy page most definitely used an electric on the song aswell. If you look close, there are some parts on the 6 string that are different than the 12 string. it gives the song a fuller feel i suppose. thanks for your comment

  • Very nice job, are you in a band?

  • thank you. I'm not in a band at the moment. I'd like to join one someday.

  • 3:44??

    idk sounds good, i like.

my favorite and probably the best song i can play on guitar..

  • WOW! That was amazing! Page would be happy.

  • thank you sir. Page rules!

  • ok now i uploaded a new one :S the other one had technical dificulties :p take a look at it

  • the wrong chord is around 3:10 jhahaha nice job though... i love the sound... take a look at mine

  • does it bother u playing the six string neck???

  • after playing a bit and getting used to the neck position being low, it becomes easy to play.

  • Beautiful playing, hats off to you sir:)

  • Regardless the imperfections you mention, this was indeed a pleasure to hear (beautiful song, too - one of my top 2 Zep favorites.)

  • very beautiful playing! nice double neck! what brand is it?

  • Very Nice....!!!

    Thanks for sharing!

  • Hi Dot on Shaft friend, it's a cool video. Awesome.

  • Thanks Dude!!

  • nice job just a few comments:

    1. the "oops" chord you mentioned

    2. the outtro could be cleaner

    3. I don't like your transition from verse to chorus (if there is such a thing in this song)

    overall, very nice...

  • thanks man....yea the ending was screwed up...i didn't have time to go back and record the whole thing. Same with the "oops" chord. The transition?? hmmm...I'll give the real song a listen too and see what I'm missing.

  • On "the transition" , I mean the couple of notes that you play descending right at 1:08 and again at 2:39-40. Most people play them "ascending" and an octave higher out of the previous hand position around the 5th fret. I guess it's just a matter of taste. Not trying to criticize - very well done.

  • yea...i do play it a bit different. Thanks for pointing that out. I'll fix it. Thanks bro.
