  • i never got my shot.

  • Imagine GPS with his voice

  • I wish I was an African-American homosexual.

  • @xxpeniskingxx are you trying to get the most random comment of the year?

  • As i see the flow of my life, I can say that i will never get my shot... cheers for the people who got it and who made it...

  • Morgan Freeman and Clint Eastwood together? I believe the world has found the cure for any disease known to man.

  • @dethman32 Watch Unforgiven. Eastwood and Morgan, 1992.

  • Freeman and Eastwood together already makes the film worth watching. The fact it was an amazing movie is icing on the cake.

  • I wish Morgan Freeman would just follow me around and narrate my life in real time

  • if i were sentenced to death, my last request would be to have Morgan Freeman read my death sentence aloud.

then, i could die smiling :)

  • Honestly i wouldn't have listened to this speech if it wasn't said by morgan freeman...

  • holy shit, morgan freeman and clint eastwood in the same room, how is the universe still intact?

  • How can you dislike Morgan Freeman?

  • A well deserved Oscar

  • if i ever decide to tell youtube to take away the dislike button, i'll use this video for support.

  • 2 of the most legendary people in this world talking.

    Epic.

  • 8 people didn't get their shot

  • Amazing Morgan Freeman voice. Damn.

  • People die everyday, and you know what their last thoughts are?, I never got my shot.

Becuese of you, maggie got her shot.

I think I could live that.

brings a tear to my eye.

  • clint and morgan are an epic duo, i just wish they were younger so that they could make more movies together, i mean unforgiven, you seen that? fucking awesome movie

  • Morgan Freeman & Clint Eastwood <- 2 of the best actors of all time

  • I did not do all right,,, and i do not think that i can rest with that ...

  • "I think I did alright." I can live with that as an epitaph.

  • Morgan freeman makes every thing sound so interesting. Did he make an audio speech for a book?

  • A very sad movie - Morgan Freeman is the king of inspirational speeches!

  • This scene was excellent, however from a boxers eyes, the best scene was when maggie went on the bus and then morgan freeman said, "boxing is a dream that nobody see but you" now THAT was the best scene in the movie!!!

  • thank you for sharing this (I'm the musician guy from fluther).

it's really touching & meaningful, and reminds me what I need to give the best shot in my life!

    beautiful,

and just favorited & subscribed it!

  • If she dies today, you know what her last thought will be? I think I did alright. I know I could rest with that.

  • I found you a fighter and you made her the best fighter she could be.

    I killed her.

Don't say that. Maggie walked through that door with nothing but guts. No chance in the world of being what she needed to be. A year and a half later, she's fighting for the championship of the world. You did that. People die every day Frankie. Mopping floors, washing dishes, and you know what their last thought is? I never got my shot. Because of you, Maggie got her shot.

  • @malush1412

    thanks

  • can anyone write here lyrics of that speech please?:)

  • try listening

  • i don't know if you can hear it, but i can't. so that's a bit difficult to do, you know.(; (i'm guessing that machon1989 has the same problem)

  • can anyone write here lyrics of that speech?

  • that was a remarkable performance by morgan freeman. it shows all the regrets of his character for missing his chance

  • Anyone got any strepsils?

  • damn, two old actors, both awesome as hell

  • great movie, better words.

    health and love

  • This movie had a great ending. I remember the controversy it caused. Of course fucking religious assholes think people should have to live paralyzed and no hope of a future with any chance of a good quality of life, instead of being allowed to die with dignity.

  • 'Fucking religious assholes' (me) were deeply conflicted respecting her pain in dealing with the users and abusers in her family. did she kill herself because of her own hopelessness or because she was not loved but only abused by those who should be the most trusted in a person's life. while understanding her decision, it was a lesson to me that in the right family and with the right friends her life could have impacted others even from bed with ability to communicate. Hawking? Helen Keller?

  • Did you watch this scene? She says herself that she wants to die because she doesn't want to be an invalid. She wants to leave this world the same way she came in: fighting. Being stuck in a bed the rest of your life and waiting to die is not "going out fighting."

  • I did watch the scene. Twice. And I remember it vividly and heart achingly. My comment was directed at her family. Sometimes when the going is beyond tough and terrible, the only thing that might bring you through is love and family and/or friends. Her only friends were Clint and Morgan who were much much older than she was. Being trapped and 'cared' for (right!?) by her immediate family was terrifying beyond belief. It makes me sick to my stomach just imagining it. Thanks!

  • wow. just wow. that was so powerful. funny to see a scene with the clint in it where hes not the one to shine.

  • probably, the best voice in cinema history.

    Morgan Freeman's that is.

    amazing amazing movie!!

  • LOVE THIS MOVIE!

  • morgan freeman has a true manly voice

  • clint is king!

    hah

  • lol

  • yeah lol

    i love his voice

  • @fredintr fuck that. a Mofo dictionary

  • @fredintr Your comment has 300 thumbs up. THIS. IS....Morgan Freeman.

  • @fredintr *Morgan Freeman narrates his autobiography on tape* "Ever since I was a little boy, people have enjoyed the sound of my voice..."

  • @fredintr man you got more likes than the clip :)

  • your life is the sum of the choices you make.

  • wow,did you read that from a self-help book?

  • haha like a big debate going on here.

    great video

  • I just like to listen to Morgan Freeman talk :D

  • I loved it when Morgan Freeman stood up for Jay Baruchel. Jay was so good at playing that character, you had to feel sorry for him. He was also amazing in this movie called Just Buried.

  • Truly meaningful speech

  • I loved this movie! I admit I cried so much at the end, but the movie is still so awesome.

  • my favorite dialouge of the movie.

  • I want to see the scene where Morgan Freeman kicks that one guys ass.

  • this guy is always starring in the best movies (shawshank redemption,..million dollar baby....wanted..............)

  • the bucket list.

  • if i could have any1's voice it would be morgan freemans lol

  • I bet Morgan Freeman could have been the first Black President had he ran!

  • Got to love Morgan Freeman. Voice of god!

  • Amazing film, but this clip is just relying on Freeman and vagueness.

  • Morgan Freeman has the most soothing voice.

  • Whos meet morgan freeman i have on my 10th birthaday im 12 now! :) happy new years to you all!

  • It's just true. Simple as that. Look at the movies of the last decade and try to find a Black character who is not either a victim, or is nobly overcoming adversity (usually racism). Look what color the bad guys are, notice the trend, compare with reality.

  • ok training day.....denzel and his "gang" were being tha bad guy and the WHITE GUY jake and a help of a couple of black guys help foil his plan

    DAYUM

and also hollywood likes to use black people as a good guy or a guy fighting for rights CAUSE THATS WHAT THEY DID IN THE 1900s

  • So you've posited one very poor counter example in which a Black criminal is tackled by Black and White good guys. Big deal! Black man equals, judge, surgeon, doctor, or noble victim, that's the Hollywood standard!

  • ok wat about american gangtser

    there another

and hollywood only uses black people at this standard because they have expirinced terrible things from whites

    thats why

watch glory road and listen to the old guy talk about black people. remeba that glory road is based in the 50s

  • Can you write in English please?

  • yes but is gaining a world title worth dying for?

Haven't the fighters been deluded into making the ultimate sacrifice by those manipulative bastards who are now laughing at them, dancing on their graves and making all the real money and power from their ultimate sacrifice?

Shouldn't people be allowed to have free thinking minds and actually live for something with meaning instead of dying for a load of bastards who will outlive them to draw even more victims into their ruthless web?

  • If you think pouring your heart and soul into something, giving all you've got to achieve a goal is any less meaningful because it involves physical fighting then you don't understand boxing at all. Dying in pursuit of your ultimate goal is an honorable way to die. That's what that speech was all about.

  • the point is that she wanted more than anything to fight. She had a love for boxing and fighting that was unparalleled by anything in her life, and when you love something that passionately you want it completely. In boxing that means getting a world title, fighting the best in the world and testing your own resolve against their worth.

Has nothing to do with money grubbing promoters, and sideliners that use a fighters determination and will power as a means to an end.

  • I appreciate your points but still in a universe of possibilities, it seems suspicious that the status quo maintians only one way for that person to exercise her heart.

My point is that her limited options are directly attributable to the controllers of the status quo who in effect channel her potential into what makes them the most money no matter the cost in opportunity to her.

Of course she will love boxing if she isn't given other options to explore.

Its like a town with only one shop.

  • Interesting comment - but it comes down to choices, don't you think. Life is made up of choices, some good and some bad. You try to stick with the good and learn from the bad. This clip highlights the fact that when "the end" of this life comes, we can all, hopefully, look back and say "I think I did alrite." My interpretation of this clip is to really try and be the best that you can be and try to do good in this world. Thanks

  • I'm saying her choices are limited by the establishment: As her choices are limited so is her final appraisal of how she 'lived her life':

In effect the establishment say, here is what you are allowed to excel at no matter your other talents and the measure of your success will be how much cash we make since if you excel at our tasks thats what happens.

Anyway, i'm really fed up of getting negative points just for expressing an opposite point of view: which ironically sort of proves my point

  • Does your boss, company or establishment (as you like to call it) not make money from the job or things your good at??? Just a thought... :-)

  • i am not objecting to the making of profit: i am objecting to the nature of the profit making entity.

It is the difference between making profit from promoting people's indivuduality and making profit from slavery.

In the former, profit passes everywhere in fair exchange, in the latter it is one sided.

  • So a person must have had their "individuality" promoted to make profit okay - is that what you are saying??? Maybe you should find a good job or better still look for another youtube video to watch and stop leaving pissedassed comments on MY video!!!

  • Apologies, i didn't realise i was doing that. I did enjoy the discussion and was having fun and i thought you were too, so I apologise for disturbing you and your video space. Good luck and all the best and thanks for indulging my views.

  • Never worry - thanks for that! :-)

  • great post.....may your last thoughts be you did alrite......peace

  • @intermender well handeled....if only I can spell though. :(

  • .. Also apologies to anyone else i may have offended. I hope i didn't spoil your fun, because afterall i agree that is why we come here.

  • if there is a god what a damne screw up it is.

  • pretty much yea. but then again we are all slaves of money.

  • I'm Not =3

  • love that man.. Hope he's alright..

Can't wait to watch the movie which he portrayed Nelson Mandela..

They're both great man in their own field..

  • "love that man.. Hope he's alright..

Can't wait to watch the movie which he portrayed Nelson Mandela..

They're both great man in their own field.."

Dont worry days after the incident he got out of the hospital OKAY.

  • Breaking news is that Morgan Freeman has been badly hurt in a car crash!

  • that isn't true at all, he is saying wat u gave maggie was a chance to be something, it reminds me of the quote everyone die, but does everyone truly live? he is saying that while maggie died u gave her a chance to truly live to be something, and that is wat counts

  • lol "Every man dies, not every man truly lives", thats from braveheart, good point though, i would rather die fighting without regrets then live a miserable life. Better to die as a lion than live as a lamb

  • Legend...

  • Love that quote!

  • Live every breath. And you'll do alright!

    Great speech by Morgan Freeman!

    5 stars!

  • Thank you so much for uploading this-it really sums of the moral of the movie-truly inspirational words:)

    Peace
