STOP complaining about the prince is a girl!!!!!! Is it that bad?! And NO they aren't gay either! The main persons are played by a famous pop group in Japan, named Morning Musume. And the language is Japanese, if you want to know. I'm happy you guys didn't say anything about their singing yet! And I just mean they really sing good and that anyone ever would say the singing is not good.
@ShugoxMelody thank you! our school is doing this and I wanted to be the prince but no one would even consider letting my even audition for it. too weird apparently
I think they have very pretty voices, but it it seems odd to me that they would choose a women to play the prince. don't get me wrong I'm not against homosexuality or anything. It's just weird because she's obviously a women, and no matter how deep her voice is, its still a women's voice. that being said, I absolutely love this musical, especially in my own little corner, so its nice to hear it in a different language.
@Nerdynessocity I do understand that they're women, as I stated that in my comment. I just think that it makes no sense. She's playing a prince, prince's are men. I'm sorry if that sounds offensive, but it seems like common sense to me. Roger's and Hammerstein designed the pieces to suit a male voice, and although I think her voice is beautiful, it seems out of place for the song that she is singing. that is all I meant, I'm not trying to offend, so I apologize if I have.
@sabriel18 It's a culture play thing. THEY ARE NOT GAY! It's called Kabuki. Where women play all parts male or female. The theater troop is a famous all girl group. Morning Musume was doing a collaboration with them.
@DarkKyoTrace oh, i see, now it makes sense, but I thought in kabuki men played all the parts, like when men played all the parts in Shakespeare's plays? I thought it was weird at first, its growing on me though. I mean I've seen an all male Shakespeare troupe, so now I don't thinks it soo out of place, and the girls sing really well.
@sabriel18 Yes Kabuki is also an all men production thing. But this is a type of kabuki. Called Female Kabuki where it's played by all girls. Glad you understand.
And...It's because it's MORNING MUSUME that make it all the more better XD they're one of the top music groups in Japan! <3
@sabriel18 Just throwing it out there, but in pantomimes which are basically fairy tales, like Cinderella, male leads are often played by women; the prince, robin hood, dick whittington, peter pan... they've all been played by women before and that's not seen as strange.
@lillybet1 I actually watched the Peter Pan played by a women and didn't think it was strange. I actually think it's kinda cool now. It must be really fun to play a male character and vice versa:)
I've never heard a Prince with a voice as rich and pure as Gaki-san's, as properly demonstrated @3:41, nor have I ever seen a Prince so charming and delicate.
This most certainly is one of the two or three most captivating things I've ever witnessed before in my life. I can't believe I'm a man and want to marry the Prince.
@AndiApple1996 Yes, that is. The group that performs in that theatre is an all female acting troupe. "Takarazuka Revue". Each person on stage is female, just like in every other play put on by the Takarazuka troupe.
@SxyChicDisney The group that performs in that theatre is an all female acting troupe. "Takarazuka Revue". Each person on stage is female, just like in every other play put on by the Takarazuka troupe.
it's weird because they don't start singing until about 3:40 lol and its annoying cuz its all in japanese - the only word i kno is like baka or something which is idiot... :)
i don't speak japanese, excluding the bits and pieces I learn from manga and anime, but art is universal. i love the way the performance was set up. it's aesthetically pleasing and the singing is quite beautiful, so much so that it almost wipes away my wish that the prince was played by a male. the actorsin all of this plays clips were great and i appreciate the all- female cast, as the majority of my acting cl
Yes, I would be willing to wear a big blue dress and gold crown too, if Prince Gaki-san would sing to me like that. And if only I could hold Prince Gaki-san's beautiful hands and dance with her like that, I'd be the happiest Cinderella ever!
BAKA! Morning Musume are an all girl pop group in Japan, who also do pantomine/acting on the side. They joined up with the Takarazuka, an all female acting troop, hence why they are all females. If you think they're lesbians and trannies, what about the Greeks? They onyl had MEN in acting youi absolute idiot, sam as Shakesperian times. I don't know how stupid you are, but it seems more stupid than most
@BernardProfitendieu Like me? Honey, you don't know me very well do you? In fact you don't know me at all. If you did, you'd know that I hardly ever say it. I only do when I actually mean it and feel that someone has done something incrediably stupid and/or insensitive.
Also, can you give me the correct definiton of ignoramus? Or did you just copy and paste my post to make yourself appear to be someone of equal or surprior intelligence?
@BernardProfitendieu That's quite a big assumption for someone who can't even see the person they're speaking to. Since you seem to know me so well, perhaps you'll tell me what's my middle name?
But so far, you're proving to me your intellect is that of emlodik.
However, no matter what I say you'll still hold on to the belief that I'm an idiot when I'm typing respectfully without chat speak and actually know what I'm talking about.
I really have to give it to Takitty and Gaki-San Chan here. Ai and Risa were fabulous. The chemistry and choreography was precise, and delightfully splendid.
I found the act and occasion to be most certainly, "second to none!"
Here, we witness one of the greatest Cinderella musicals in history, as performed by various Morning Musume members in Japan. The great, Prince Gaki-San was seen as somewhat perplexed, until she discovered her Princess Ai Chan all alone, adorned in an exquisite bold, blue dress and gold crown in front of their envious girlfriends. It was indeed, "love at first sight" for Prince Gaki-San and Princess Ai Chan, as the two sung lovely lullabies to one another during this very special occasion.
