Watching Michael Jordan play is real special to me. This is the year I was born, and 11 years later I was watching him still kick ass. My grandma loved watching him play, Michael Jordan and Larry Bird were her favorites. I missed the magic/bird era but thank God I caught the end of Jordans and didn't grow up around kobe/lebron and think that was real talent.

Kobe didn't start as a rookie, Jordan did. Jordan played more minutes and therefore scored more points. Because Kobe was on the bench, he didn't play as much, and didn't average as many points.

How MJ didn't make the All-Defense team during 86-87 has always been beyond me. To average 2.88 steals per game and 1.52 blocks per game (for a Guard?) and be left off is a joke. This would've made it an even 10 for his career.

But I'd just like to say when people point out how Kobe and Bron get their 50+ point games through FTs. Look at MJ's stat line 26-27 from the ft line. partially agreed. kobe's a great player and is exceptional at clutcj (with the exception of this year's finals for some reason), but lebrone is just a mediocre player who has nothing but athletism. he has an average jump shot and lacks in so many aspects of the game, including clutch.

He averaged over 7rpg and over 7apg is that lacking? He shot a higher fg% than Kobe and scored 30ppg in the season you're refering to (the 07-08 season). Then in the following season he essentially did the same thing only he scored 28.4ppg and his defensive stats were considerably better. Then in last year's playoffs he put up numbers not seen since Bird, Magic, and West. How is he mediocre again?

Nope. Lebron's game isn't ahead. He dominates through physicality and bulldozes his way in to get most of his points. But he still needs massive development when it comes to the midrange game, posting up, moving without the ball, using screens, shooting jumpers with consistency, etc. Lebron is far from being a complete player. But it sure is scary that despite that he is putting up monster performances.

I've seen this game in it's entirety. Jordan took himself out of the game with about 4 minutes left because they were blowing out the Nets. He didn't stay in the game to pad his stats on meaningless free throws like Kobe Bryant would have.

Watching Michael Jordan play is real special to me. This is the year I was born, and 11 years later I was watching him still kick ass. My grandma loved watching him play, Michael Jordan and Larry Bird were her favorites. I missed the magic/bird era but thank God I caught the end of Jordans and didn't grow up around kobe/lebron and think that was real talent.

Well, I know a lot of old timers are a little miffed at LeBron because he such a primitive, childish game. I remember watching Rick Barry pound his head against the table wondering why LeBron didn't know how to use a screen. This was after the 2007 finals. Bron Bron doesn't understand that what made Jordan CONSISTENT was his perfect fundamentals. It gave he easy shots and allowed him to do it over and over. The athleticism took him over the top. LeBron is 6'9" 260 and can't post up. Sad.
