  • dtv is going to be awesome.

  • Okay don't you think its kinda wierd... They are taking away your bloody "rabbit ears!" doesn't that kinda bring project bluebeam into the picture? I don't know but I suggest every american come move up here to canada! We will always welcome you into our Country because in the end we are all the same.. :)

Please just be aware of all that goes on behind closed doors..

  • THIS SUCKS

In my area cable is VERY expensive (3 times what it cost in the city I used to live for basic service).

I live in an apartment, so I can't put an antenna or satellite dish on the roof.

So I spent the money, and I bought a converter box.

But I can only receive 1 - ONE! station digitally. And it doesn't even come in all the time!!!

After the analogue shutoff my TV will no longer work at all.

Well, at least I'll still be able to watch DVDs on it. :(

  • Im only guessing, but if there are 200 million regular televisions in America to be converted into HD, then that $40 in government subsidy per TV × 200,000,000 = $8 billion.

Why is the government so anxious to spend 8 billion dollars on her citizens to improve the clarity of a TV picture? Or is the recently touted additional bandwidth cover story that supposedly is to be gained with the HD technology the only and genuine reason for spending so much taxpayer dollars on HD conversion?

  • idiot, it's DTV not HD! HD is a premium.

  • Television is not a right, it is a service driven by technology. So to take part, at some point you have to invest in it. I think this is simply for the sake of convenience and cost effectiveness. If a station can broadcast 100 times more of their "product" in a similar manner they'll always do it. Satellite radio is another example.

  • I want my analog! I feel that we need to have a choice!

I do not think having digital should be the only choice, we need choices not to be forced into digital.

I do not want to pay for the services, I feel that it is actually a scam, I wonder how many government officials have had donations for their campaigns. I wonder how many gifts and vacations they got before they decided what is "best" for "everyone". Their has to be someone out there who wants to still be a analog customer like me!

  • the truth is ....our government...is..TOTALITARIAN & FACIST.

  • everyone is so lazy we are going to get in this crap that we can avoid..they are going to send signals through tv and do sum crazy crap that will assit mind control...so sad

  • DTV may indeed have a direct connection to various government conspiracies, such as; Project Blue Beam, RFID citizen and consumer tracking. Total control over the reception of media communications- and a totalitarian corporate monopoly. Not to mention, the rate at which the mysterious color gamuts found deep it high-def, screws with your receptors. Pretty screwed up stuff. Always question. We will resist.

  • yeah- our fucking government is violating more of our rights.

oh well- the apocalypse is almost here anyways.

  • eff that, I'm not buying a new tv just to get my privacy invaded. I know they put v-chips are in the tvs made from '07. The DTV brocasting is just MORE security supposedly and makes it easier to contact the police dept., fire dept. and emergency rescue.

  • Yeah, they will have v-chips in the new tv definately. This is another attack to our freedom by the government to get us ready.

  • lolz I tell ya, I think the government is up to something. They are probably making it a law to condition us for the RFID mark of the beast bullcrap. I read stuff on DTV, it says that it will be easier to get in contact with the police, fire department and emergency rescue. It will have improved sound quality, etc.

  • lol lol, its not necessarily going to be all hdtv, its just going to be digital.

  • If you have cable and an SDTV you're ok.

  • it sould be the brodcasters choice to convert not the gov i like anolog and figital but for tv and music its anolog all way

  • What about all the people on satalite? They'll have to pay an extra 200-300 bucks for new receivers. oh, and don't forget the warnties, cables, install, and s&h on all these hdtvs too.

  • idk why there doing this shit, it seems kinda dumb, but I guess they government cares about the quality of tv that people watch, or do they ?

  • sorry buddy, you are incorrect. The government is making tv stations broadcast in digital, not high definition. You dont need a hd tv, you need a digital tv,or a converter box. If you have cable of satelite then you have it all ready. Most tv purchased after 2000 are already capable.

  • No, after March 2007 all sets has been produced at regardless size must have digital-tuner.
