Its probably an integer or spin off as Raiden got patched up at the end of 4, and his eyes have changed, as well as his body, which is more iron like. But maybe its his son John. Perhaps.
Never was a fan of Raiden, I might pass. Emo badass ninjas with swords have been done to death anyways. And you can only make so many prequels and interquels before you start having some serious plot-holes. Hideo should have ended it at MGS4 and started working on creating a new IP, imo at least. :)
@ImPacman Hey, at least the games will be avaliable for a wider audience then keeping it exclusive. The only reason they would keep it exclusive is if they take advantage of a particular console's hardware such as the PS3's Six-Axis Controller. So far, I haven't seen those two franchises you mention take advantage of one's input hardware.
@dessertmonkeyjk Reasons they want to keep a game exclusive to an console would be advantage of internal hardware (like the cell processor of the PS3) Shorter development times (no need to port it to an other console) and better optimisation (more time can be spend to access the full potentional of a system).

i want this game to have stealth action but i have a feeling it just gonna be straight up run slice fight jump flip and no crawling hidin freezin or any of that solid snake action..which may be the reason why its on xbox aswell these xbox gamers love their action games and exclude tactical stealth type games like splinter cell (flop on the xbox)

This is probably just a marketing scheme. i hav a theory, what if sony and kojima devised a plan? a plan that would help sell ps3's. ok so you buy the game, but while watching the cutscenes, you have no clue what they're talking about. so you go out and buy a ps3, and buy mgs4 and all other mgs titles. in the process u buy a psp for portable ops. that would mean all xbox owners who want to understand the storyline would buy atleast 1 playstation console if not both.

The solid series isn't over yet unless you mean as far as "Solid Snake" goes. We still have his Pops in Peace Walker. That's MGS5, I played the DEMO and it's worth getting a PSP/PSP GO.
I just see it as if solid snake isn't there then why should it be called metal gear solid? and then raiden? why raiden? he was already good in the end of metal gear 2, ready to start a family and go on, now we have to see him come back to the fight again, unless this story takes place on metal gear 4 before raiden met snake in his cyborg form.
well I know raiden isn't in MGS5, but I see what you mean since the "solid" series is based on "Solid" Snake. But you know they did MGS3 with his pops and not solid, so think of it as another part of the story to add. I'm pretty sure MGS:Rising has nothing to do with the actual story considering Hideo isn't working on that game directly. From what I read, A younger team under the name of "Koji Pro" is gonna do MGS:Rising. So don't expect much.

i want this game to have stealth action but i have a feeling it just gonna be straight up run slice fight jump flip and no crawling hidin freezin or any of that solid snake action..which may be the reason why its on xbox aswell these xbox gamers love their action games and exclude tactical stealth type games like splinter cell (flop on the xbox)

Secondly, Xbox has a panoply of Stealth-based games. And no, it doesn't really matter if they started on Playstation. Playstation is an older system. @6242102m The reason they are realesing this for Xbox is because of Sustance Raiden was on the Xbox. MGS 4 was on PS3 only because Xbox fans really dont know the MGS story AT ALL.

This is probably just a marketing scheme. i hav a theory, what if sony and kojima devised a plan? a plan that would help sell ps3's. ok so you buy the game, but while watching the cutscenes, you have no clue what they're talking about. so you go out and buy a ps3, and buy mgs4 and all other mgs titles. in the process u buy a psp for portable ops. that would mean all xbox owners who want to understand the storyline would buy atleast 1 playstation console if not both.

The solid series isn't over yet unless you mean as far as "Solid Snake" goes. We still have his Pops in Peace Walker. That's MGS5, I played the DEMO and it's worth getting a PSP/PSP GO.

I just see it as if solid snake isn't there then why should it be called metal gear solid? and then raiden? why raiden? he was already good in the end of metal gear 2, ready to start a family and go on, now we have to see him come back to the fight again, unless this story takes place on metal gear 4 before raiden met snake in his cyborg form.

well I know raiden isn't in MGS5, but I see what you mean since the "solid" series is based on "Solid" Snake. But you know they did MGS3 with his pops and not solid, so think of it as another part of the story to add. I'm pretty sure MGS:Rising has nothing to do with the actual story considering Hideo isn't working on that game directly. From what I read, A younger team under the name of "Koji Pro" is gonna do MGS:Rising. So don't expect much.

i already know what has happened with Raidan if u guys notice his eyes are brown (like Snakes) and he has Snakes bandana over his left eye (which is the eye that Snake is blind in). In order to keep them both alive somehow their DNA had to be fused or something like that. Sorry Hideo read u like a book. :)

What the fuck...ok, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots was perfect, because it was ONLY running on PS3. Now, Metal Gear Solid: Rising is on the 360, and PS3...it won't be as good as MGS4. It will most likely suck, since its now on 360, holding back the PS3 from it's full capabilities. Fucking Microsoft.
