This was filmed over many hours. I watched it in its entirety and it just goes to show what formidable predators hyenas really are. They are natural born killers, will kill their own siblings. They live in a matriarchal society and quite often the oldest female baby will kill her younger female sibs so she can one day become queen. Sounds like Cleopatra a bit. The male lion did just what he is in the pride to do...protect.
