What the hell is wrong with you people, We all know of Brians issues, that he is trying to resolve. Why make it so personal. It's a song and a very good one. Iv'e never made a mistake . Right. Other than putting the ' in front e as apposed to the v. Loosen up enjoy the gift of music he gave and his Brother Carl.
@Fooblestheclown no,,,back then i think they meant to say "brian is fat" anyway that was all just spin to give cred to the band ,,(mike no-love.no talent)...its just tragic that he cant play anymore ..like whats going on there ??/in the doco from the mid 90's he could still play well ...then bang he cant . like you dont have to be Tony Banks to play 'love and mercy'.
@mugwamp4 Well there's always SOMEONE who has penis envy and has to criticize someone else's success. Thanks for letting us know it's you so we can ignore you from now on.
Fact: Brian DOES still play in concert. Maybe not on this clip.
Fact: HIS genius is in composing and arranging complex pieces of music that will last for generations to come. What have YOU done?
This is why Brian Wilson is known the world over and you are simply capable of putting down snide comments on Youtube, you wanker!
@BigChiefLtd1 i was simply stating the facts ya fucking moron,,and said its a pity he cant play to concert standard anymore !,,,I love Brian Wilson...he;s one of the great writers/pioneers of pop music .went to see him when he came to Oz @2005,(pet sounds tour) great show ,,but anyone other than the visually and or mentally impaired can clearly see he plays only rudimentary snippets of 2 or 3 songs ,,FACT!!,,now do I have to explain who Tony Banks is....IDIOT!!
@mugwamp4 Listen, you SHIT FOR BRAINS. I've BEEN ON STAGE with Brian when he's played. Frankly, I don't care if plays as much as he once did... that's why he's got the best support musicians in the world. But it still takes him to arrange and control what and how they play in order to produce the sound he gets from them. What the fuck: He still accomplishes more with his FARTS than you've ever done in your whole life. There's nothing you can explain to me or anyone so don't flatter yourself.
@mugwamp4 I did neither of those jobs. But even those jobs would require more intelligence, intellect and maturity than you've shown here. There are those who DO and then there are those like you who can do little more than sit in their mother's basement, masturbating in the dark and making negative comments about those who DO achieve a level of excellence in life just so you can feel good about your own pathetic existence. But there's a song written just for you by the Beatles: I'm A Loser.
@BigChiefLtd1 dissappointing that you are first of all so fractious and highly strung (probably anxiety issues borne out of sexual inadequacy)that you reacted in such an hysterical manner to my original considered (and true!!)statement ...and secondly your inability to refute my statement (in fact you simply verified what i wrote)with anything other than the most puerile of retorts .and you're way wrong ,the Beatles wrote some songs for you too ,Fool on the Hill, Help, and Nowhere Man.
Great song from Brian and he has such a good voice and is so gifted and talented too. Too bad he could not tour like he wanted to with the band due to his illness and hope he is doing better today. I have a mental illness and Brian proves you can do anything no matter what you have. Love him and this song and his Pet Sounds album. Thanks for posting this great song.
So many great different takes on the song. From the eccentric and shimmering production on Brian Wilson, to the more stripped down version on I Just Wasn't Made For These Times and now this loving performance. Such a versatile and beautiful song.
I saw him in concert at the Royal Festival Hall, London in 2002 when he performed the Smile album. I was in tears, dream come true seeing this genius perform that album 35 yrs after its creation. It felt so good seeing him in one piece.
never a beach boy fan...fine group, just not my thing....but it's a hard mean-spirited soul who remains untouched by this performance, Such genuine love for + from his audience. Who's to say deserves any less. Fair play Wilso.
Great song. Not so great a voice though. I heard Brian never sang live when he was touring with The Beach Boys. He has a great mind. Too bad that douchebag Mike got the voice...
If God exists, Brian Wilson is God, what a blessed inspiration, for someone considered as "insane" and mentally "damaged", by ignorant and cruel doctors, Brian Wilson is to music what Van Gogh is for painting and art...
Brian may be a great man and a genius but i think its wrong that he listens to his wife Melinda and goes and adopts 4 little children at there age.Brian should be concentrating on his blood children and grandchildren. His wife figures she married him at such a late age and could not have her own kids so go out and adopt 4 for finiancial security.Brian is not a wel man to play DaDA he has auditory halucinations till this day.I say the women he married is a common gold digger.
@1BlubeTube your right blood is thicker then water but Brians wife is trying to seperate the blood and build a new false family ,5 adopted kids means more trust fund money and less for poor carnie and wendy.the gold digging bitch try to keep his blood kids away from Brian.I wish Carnie and Wendy would grab Brians ear and clue him in.
The only problem with Brian Wilson live performances is that he really doesn't seem to enjoy himself very much! It was like when he played Glastonbury a couple of years ago, you almost felt that you were being entertained by your school teacher who happened to have been in a famous band in his youth. "OK - you at the back! Quiet! Heres another of my famous No.1's and then I'll give out your homework....."
@StanPomeray Yeah I see exactly what you mean. Well, seeing as how he had anxiety attacks later on in The Beach Boys career, (which is partially the reason they stopped touring) I'm extremely happy to see that he's giving it another go again, and that he's doing such a great thing for his fans
You know, some people have something aginst Brian for his mistakes in his life. But I'll tell you what. We are all human and we all make so many mistakes in our life. He is one of the GREATES songwriters and musicians of all time. My highest reguards goes to him.
he is a genius......he used a patern also used in "whiter shade of pale" and "Pachelbel's Canon in D"
why always reinventing the wheels.....this guy know how to compose hits!
