and NOT by who knows the most Bible and who has the best arguments supporting the deity of Christ, that the world would know that we are Jesus' followers. Again, I ask, where's the love? A little bit of love will go much further than getting the proverbial Bible smacked over someone's head!
and I skim through these comments and I can't help but wonder....where's the love? All of this us vs. them, arguments over words and Bible interpretations and who's right and who's wrong, who's in and who's out...someone even seemed to suggest that Jehovah's Witnesses were "pathetic." Where's the love? Because I don't see it here. Just the usual Bible-thumping and argument presenting, where's the love? After all, Jesus did say that by our love, brothers and sisters,
or maybe not.....I'm not sure how tactful that was, I was trying to de-escalate a tense situation with some humor....anway....maybe she couldn't relate, I don't know....I was just introducing myself to this small community and making the church's presence known to serve them in action and prayer, and overall, it was very successful. I was not trying to "convert" I was not trying to "pew pack" and boost numbers, my only agenda was...the love agenda.
I used to live in the rural south and pastor for a very small country church, I was out door-knocking on a Saturday where I once lived and in all irony I door knocked on the door of a Jehovah's Witness [I say that b/c Jehovah's Witnesses are notorious for door knocking is all]. I introduced myself and who I was and she introduced herself and who she was and before she slammed the door in my face, I said "you can probably relate to what I'm doing."
Your passion about this is interesting. How do you reconcile Jesus' statement to his apostles about leaving others who are not against Jesus alone - regardless of correctness of their message. Luke 9
I was a JW for years. Yes, they are very wrong in many places - and though the typical JW is better versed in the bible than many other Christians, but they are only as knowledgeable as their publications allows them. Once you get past their talking points and key scriptures, you will see them resort to a little book to answer the questions asked of them.
@steveparadise1 in Psalms 8:22-24 it says " The LOrd POssessed me at the beginning of His work...Christ was not Created..bec before all things were created Christ is Already at the bossom of the Father JOhn 1:18...and in Psalms 1:7 He was born out of The bosom Of the Father...dont distort the truth of the Scriptures.
@jnh1225 are you sure about that...JWs are easy picking as far as i know...because they aRE no better that ROBOTS..all they have to say., to teach ,to do and to believe are all premeditated...they are programed to distort the truth of the scriptures...So Pathetic!
ima Jehovah witness- we believe in REV7:14 that say us living today will never day or make through the Judgment day, in JOhn10:36 JESUS said he is GOD'S SON, John10:3,4 say we only listen to his voice, all his apostles said he was God's son.Plus JESUS made JEHOVAH's name known in John5:43-12:28-17:6,26&matthew6:9 QUESTION?? how can everyone go to heaven, when 1000 yrs after the 2nd coming SATAN comes out the PIT&misleads people on the earth says REV20:7-9?????
@31devildestroyer try to understand the verse in revelation 7::9 therea a great multitude from all races and nations of the earth....NOT JUST THE MERE 144,000...standing before the God and His Lamb...such a shame....thats what the Bible teaches! try and open Your mInd..
This is classic. Could you imagine this guy trying that sort of message to a JW. They would eat him alive.
Like a JW has never seen Isaiah 9:6. Does he honestly think they don't know what the bible teaches? When he shows them this verse or that verse they are won over to Christ, seriously.
As far as hellfire goes, JWs put the hose on that 100 years ago
Jesus was not created. Read John 1:1-4. Then verse 14. I the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the Word was God. Verse 14 and the Word became and dwelt amongst us. Jesus is God and always been God.
haha, "soul-winning"... honestly, what is this? Stealing "souls" from JW by quoting a fictional book and taking it seriously, it's kind of like taking post-it-wars, or fruit-wars or whatever seriously.
@greenlawnmover Soulwinning is a bible word. It means winning souls for Jesus Christ. It's not stealing souls from the Jehovah Witnesses, its taking them back from the devil.
0:52 "the mighty god". Not the ALMIGHTY (all mighty) GOD? Thats too bad. Satan is also called god too. (2 Corinthians 4:4)
(1 Corinthians 8:5-6) For even though there are those who are called “gods,” whether in heaven or on earth, just as there are many “gods” and many “lords,” 6 there is actually to us one God the Father, out of whom all things are, and we for him; and there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things are, and we through him.
@shawso7 The only thing you won is a ticket to hell, turn your Bible to Rev. 22:12-13 "And behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning, and the end, the first and the last." who is coming quickly? Jesus, who is the Alpha and Omega? Jesus. Now turn to Rev. 1:8 "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which IS, and which was, and which is to come the Almighty." Jesus almighty
7:06 Jesus died? Jesus went to hell for 3days? Y O U R G O D D I E D & W E N T T O H E L L?! Well your god sucks! As a matter of fact your god Jesus worships my GOD...(John 20:17) . . .‘I am ascending to my Father and YOUR Father and to my God and YOUR God.’. .
That's right. The person you worship was created by my GOD and reflects who my GOD is... (Colossians 1:15) . . .He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
@shawso7 "your god sucks," you blasphemer, "every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment." Matt. 12:36. keep reading in Col. 1:16 "For by him were all things created.... all things were created by HIM, and for HIM." "For in him (Jesus) dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily." Col. 2:9
Matthew 10:35-37 For I came to cause division, with a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a young wife against her mother-in-law. Indeed, a man’s enemies will be persons of his own household. He that has greater affection for father or mother than for me is not worthy of me; and he that has greater affection for son or daughter than for me is not worthy of me. (See Also Luke 12:53)
The thing that scares me about the Jehovah's Witnesses are how they go about dividing families and causing strife and hatred. Though I do not agree with Mormons, they are not hate filled and spitting. I live in Brooklyn, NY, the center of this false faith, because they change the original text of the bible.....but duhhhhhhh don't try to speak to one of them about this. The World Translation. Really sad and venomous.
Jesus said he who perseveres to the end will be saved. Paul said he who thiks is standing watch not to fall. Jesus does not the day and the hour. John 5:18 Jesus can not do anything on his own initiative. John 10:30 The father is greater than I. John 17:3
Jesus refered to Jehovah as the only true God. YOU WANT MORE? IHAVE THOUSAND MORE QUOTES
Y do you people give small books that state on the cover in caps WHAT DOES THE BIBLE Really TEACH? I dont need anyones book that tell me how to read my bible, for I trust my savior(Jesus Christ), he will be my guide and my path. He alone is my salvation and my God.
If Jesus Christ was not God then Y sciptures say in Mark 1:2-3, Just as prophet Isaiah had written: " Look,I (God) am sending my messenger (John) ahead of you (Jesus),and he (John) will prepare your (Jesus) way.* He (John) is a voice shouting in the wilderness,Prepare the way for the Lord's coming! Clear the road for him!*" Now go to Isaiah 40:3 and READ IT In your bible! It has LORD with all caps in my bible.
Now how can there be two Gods if scriptures say there is only one? How can Jesus Be a god and a angel if scriptures say, John 10:30 Jesus said, "The Farther and I are one."
If Jesus Christ is a angel or Michael the archangel, then you must ask Y Michael need to ask the Lord to rebuke the devil and Y he did not have the power to rebuke the devil .(Jude 1:9). Jesus cant be Michael the archangel beacuse Jesus could rebuke satan with out calling unto the Lord (Matthew 4:1-11) (Matthew 17:18) (Matthew 12:22-37).
Who taught people/preachers to speak like this guy and many like him?
Jesus never spoke like this nor did Paul or any of thee apostles.
Slow down and teach the word.
You are bouncing all over the place. If I had heard your preaching)not knowing what I know)I would have been so confused as to what point you are trying to make.
Whoa whoa buddy...I am one of Jehovah's witnesses. I found this video interesting...but you messed up toward the end. JW don't believe Jesus was a sinful imperfect man. We believe he was a perfect man, free from sin while on earth. Take that lie out of your sermon
Jehovah God is the ROCK. Jesus is the ROCK"S Son. Jehovah is the ALMIGHTY. Genesis 17:1,.."I am God Almighty..." Exodus 6:3,"...as God Almighty..." Revelation 16:7,"..Yes, Jehovah God the Almighty..." Jesus is also a god, but spelled with a small "g". He is a MIGHTY God (one time spelled with a big "G"). Isaiah 9:6,..."Mighty God,...Prince of Peace." He's a prince, and his Father is the King forever. John 1:18, "No one has seen God at any time..." John 14:28, "...the Father is greater..
@eternityandforever WOW did you miss reading skills 101? Matthew 16: 16And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17And Jesus answered...flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
18..That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; ...
1 Cor10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
John 14:9
Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?
Jesus has a God and Father. John 20:17,"I am ascending ...to my God and your God." Read 1 Corinthians 11:3,"..the head of the Christ is God." Colossians 1:3,"..God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ..." John 14:28,"The Father is greater than I am." John 1:18,"No man has seen God at any time..." Read 1 John 4:12,"At no time has any one beheld God." Exodus 33:20," No man may see me and yet live." Jesus is firstborn of all creation. Colossians 1:15,"...firstborn of all creation." Prov.8:22
JESUS WAS NOT CREATED BY JEHOVAH. JESUS IS THE CREATOR AND IS JEHOVAH. MICHAEL IS A TITLE FOR CHRIST NOTHING MORE. MATTHEW HENRY A GREAT BAPTIST THEOLOGIAN EVEN STATES THAT MICHAEL IS ANOTHER NAME FOR CHRIST. JESUS WAS KNOWN AS "THE ANGEL OF THE LORD" THIS WAS THE ONLY ANGEL WHO EVER RECIEVED WORSHIP AND WAS EVEN CALLED GOD. WHAT DOES ANGEL MEAN? IT MEANS MESSENGER WHAT DOES IT SAY ABOUT THE 2ND COMING? FOR THE LORD HIMSELF SHALL DECEND FROM HEAVEN WITH A SHOUT WITH THE VOICE OF THE ARCHANGEL!
ARE YOU SERIOUS!!! this is what you go to church for to hear talks about other religions?? whens the last time i heard a talk about another religion at my Kingdom Hall hmmm...never.
@usenetposts What do you talk about? How right the teaching of the men of the Watchtower is right and every other teaching wrong. You trust men who have had to claim 'new light' because they were proved or decided that what they was wrong - yet they alone are the true faithfull slave. Psalm 146 v 3 Do not put your trust in men. No human being can save you.
@usenetposts We 'talk' about how to become more fluent in our ministry USING the bible as a guide (tuesdays), and we get a BIBLE-BASED talk on sunday's followed by a BIBLE-BASED study of The Watchtower
@ThirdNUnion You get "Bible-based" talks and studies, but you don't get the Bible. That's the problem with you guys
"...people cannot see the divine plan in studying the Bible by itself, if anyone lays the SCRIPTURE STUDIES aside, even after he has used them, after he has become familiar with them, after he has read them for ten years—if he then lays them aside and ignores them and goes to the Bible alone ... within two years he goes into darkness.” —The Watch Tower, September 15, 1910
@ThirdNUnion and another good quote showing JW support for Hitler in Nazi Germany:
"Instead of being against the principles advocated by the government of Germany, we stand squarely for such principles, and point out that Jehovah God and Christ Jesus will bring about the full realization of these principles..."
@usenetposts where is it in full context? Is that why so many brothers were thrown in concentration camps knowing they could have got out by simply signing a document, but instead remained loyal to Jehovah?
@ThirdNUnion I'm sure they behaved like absolute heroes, and what a tragedy it is that they did it for a lying organisation who doesn't teach them that Jesus is Jehovah, but brainwashes them, takes their money, and feeds it back up to 33 degree illuminati satanists, the Russell, Warburg and Rothschild bloodlines, Satan's archbishops in this suffering planet.
@usenetposts well seems as im on the defense, i have other stuff id rather use my kb's on. anyways where are you going with this, the reason why people dislike JW is because we adhere to the scripture, so lets begin there.
@ThirdNUnion But you do not adhere to scripture, you adhere to a magazine produced by high ranking freemasons, which twists the Bible as far as they can. They include some truths largely overlooked by Catholics, they include some total red herrings too, like stakes instead of crosses and denying blood transfusions, and then they have damnable error like saying that Jehovah Christ is only Michael.
Why don't you try and follow the money in your organisation and see where the trail leads?
@usenetposts i never said that. i do deny that " " "Jehovah Christ is only Michael." " " 1)Jehovah is not Jesus Christ in the Hebrew scriptures. 2) Jesus Christ was Michael before and after ascending to heaven.
@ThirdNUnion Jehovah is Jesus Christ in the Hebrew Scriptures "Search the scriptures, for in them ye think ye have salvation, and these are they that testify of me". The Old Testament testifies of Jesus Christ, therefore Jehovah is Jesus Christ.
@usenetposts Does God serve Himself? I thought it was His servants who serve Him.Jesus is called God's Son. Jesus as an angel (the archangel-top of the angels named Michael) helped Jehovah God create the universe, earth, and us.Jesus is a God, a 'god', not as Jehovah God the ALMIGHTY. But he gets all his power from Jehovah, his Father. Jesus owes everything he has to Jehovah, he is Jehovah's Servant-Acts 3:26-God, after raising his Servant, sent him forth.... 4:30-of your holy servant Jesus.
I use to be a Jehovah Witness and the reason that I'm no longer one is because I don't believe in some of there teachings. But for you to call them the Devil, that's wrong. They are good people who needs a better understand of Gods word. It sounds like you've committed a sin for judging them to hell by calling them the devil.
according to jws jesus is an angel, but i cannot understand why are we getting saved by an angel or how can we get salvation through an angel.Dont think that angel can create life,as he is himself a mere creation of god.
Only God can bring salvation to humankind, only he can resurrect and give temple in 3 days and he did as he said.life.Jesus said he will raise this
@shy52002 **17 APRIL 2011** A special day!! The Memorial is when Jehovah's Witnesses remember the death of Jesus Christ. It is their most important meeting and is held on the evening of the Jewish month of Nisan 14. This year the Memorial of Christ's death will be held on APRIL 17th 2011. You are warmly invited to attend this special memorial celebration. Contact your local KINGDOM HALL of Jehovah's Witnesses for details.
ummm....excuse me reverend. It's "Salavation is all faith and not works"???? Where did you get your preaching papers from? Haven't you read the bible? James 2:24 says"Do you see that a man is justified by means of works, and not by faith alone?"
@mjacobson73 That is not true. What you are referring to is James chapter 2. James is talking about stretching our gift of faith, not salvation. Two separate issues. Read Romans 10:9-13. Please be careful of any deception. Salvation is a free gift from the Lord. Read for yourself. God bless.
Sad how all of these people allow themselves to be fooled year after year. How many times does one have to be lied to before they realize the one who speaks to them is a liar?
“When a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not come about or come true, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him."
Charles Russel used the King James Bible when he started this organization. So if you are a JW, ask yourself, why did the watchtower change bibles and most importantly, change SCRIPTURES. The early JW's taught the Deity of Christ and Hell and other topics you know are against. Ooops, did the WT make another mistake like the false prophesies concerning the end of the world. 2 Jesuits helped in the translation of the first NWT bible. it is in the preface of the first 1950 edition.
As you don't knows Jw have the new world translation bible but it says the exact same thing as the kingjames bible. There is no difference in the bible. What they teach comes from the bible and what you don't so maybe you read both bibles.
Hi why are you so anti JW ? your faith is strong. Do they make you feel weak ? you sound afraid, you should be . Not many followers in that little room is there ? you are the worst preacher on here, you say I far to much, who do you think you are ,I WILL TELL YOU. YOUR A JOKE !
Subjectivity deals with patterns of authority, after all Christ was subject to his parents as well. The wife is subject to her husband but yet of equal nature with the man-meaning both are human. Now within the Godhead their is also a pattern of authority but not a difference in Nature just as the man and woman share the same nature but yet the woman is suject to her husband.
Good explanation as after my time in the service, seeing a sort of chain of command as related to the actions of the Trinity. For me, the neat thing is I think has a lot to do with how God wants us to act. Has anyone ever tried to show where Christ is in strife with his father? Seems quite often they are never in conflict and also purely exalting the other over themselves such as Phil 2 and Heb 2 are very dood passages to see this.I could be erring but never saw Jesus jealous of the Father.
(1 Corinthians 15:27-28) For [God] “subjected all things under his feet.” But when he says that ‘all things have been subjected,’ it is evident that it is with the exception of the one who subjected all things to him. 28 But when all things will have been subjected to him, then the Son himself will also subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him, that God may be all things to everyone.
We see in scripture that there is- the Spirit of God- the Spirit of Jesus and the Holy Spirit. We also see in scripture that ALL 3 Spirits are to dwell in us or we are to be filled with ALL 3. If we are to say that the 3 aren't 1 then there are 3 different Spirits. If we are to say that there are 3 different Spirits, then 1 of the Spirits is better than the other 2 to dwell in us. We can't have 3 diff. Spirits dwelling-only 1. Father,Son,Holy Spirit is ONE Spirit=Godhead. God Bless!
It is ironic that Christ was Not a Servant in his preexistence, thus he was not an Angel by logic. Phil 2:5-11, if Not a Servant the by logic who could he be? God alone. Angels are servants, in fact the whole created realm is a servant. Thus Christ could not logically be of the created realm. Why because he "Created (ALL) things. Thus he was Not a Servant but the Creator. Christ as a man died, but as GOD he Raised his (body) from the grave. Jn 2:19-21. The creator chose to live in a human body.
@jwsjuls If you read my posts I already answered that question in depth, this is why I post mostly indirectly because It shows who read my post or not. -you posed this question after I already answered it. God cannot die. Read my posts and you will see I answered the question. I will say the answer lies in Phil 2:5-11, Jn 2:19-21. God cannot die but he can choose to inhabit a created human body that can. 100 % God-100 % Man. Christ existed in 2 forms =Natures as I have already stated. LNC.
So we have 2 natures at work during the events at the cross, one as man and one as God. God cannot die, but he did prepare a body for himself to dwell in -in which he could do so. Christ the Servant died-hence his humanity-Son of Man, Christ as God raised his flesh(body) from the grave.-Son of God. Mortal and divine. Jesus said "Tear down this Temple(his body) and in 3 days I will raise it up. Something about his person survived death-his Deity. God cannot die, but Man can.
In simple terms Christ according to scripture in his preexistent Nature shared Glory alongside the Father before the Foundation of the World. Jn 17:3 and God never shares his Glory with another. Only God is not a Servant. So the very fact that Christ shared in the Father's Glory and the fact that he was NOT a servant by original Nature identifies him as God. For only God is Not a servant. God can take a Servants form and did for the suffering of death bcause he could not die inhis original form
God as we know solely Raised Jesus from death. This is what the account of Scripture speaks unto us through Paul in Phil 2:5-11. That Christ who being in the form of God thought it not robbery to be equal with but emptied himself and took the form of a servant and became obedient unto death. 2 forms are implied here, one of God and one of a servant. Son of Man and Son of God -denotes two natures, one nature can die and the other nature can live on to resurrect the other nature from death.
If you are going off the assumtion that Jesus is actually God, then how did God die on the cross and the world didn't end? You wonder how Jesus could just cease to exist for 3 days, which is a debate in it's self. Please explain why the world didn't end?
For someone to say Jesus isnt the Almighty isnt supported by scripture, for Christ is "The First and The Last" Rev 1:17. The First and Last is the Almighty GOD Isaiah 44:6. The First and The Last =The Alpha and Omega=The Almighty Rev 1:8. Rev 22:12, says behold I come quickly ...I am the Alpha and the Omega ...The First and The Last. Rev 22:20 behold I come quickly-even so come LORD JESUS. Gives a real identification on what it means to call Jesus LORD-Its calling him "JEHOVAH GOD"!
In fact the Alpha and Omega are the First and the Last letters of the Greek Alphabet, so the term "The First and The Last" is a synonymous term for the Alpha and Omega -who just so happens to be the Almighty. Rev 1:8. The First and the Last is the Almighty Is 44:6. Since Jesus is called The First and the Last then he is the Alpha and Omega-the Almighty. So playing with the terms Mighty and Almighty to make Christ and Extra deity is a Satanic attempt to get believers to break the 1st commandment.
Continued. Now since the Alpha and Omega is the Almighty and was pierced -this is then a clear reference to Jesus coming in the clouds back to the Earth. The 1st and last chapter Rev add to this significance. It say Rev 22:12 I am coming quickly once again... I am the Alpha and Omega=The Almighty, let see if John idenitfies this person. Rev 22:20- He "The Alpha and Omega says once again I am coming quickly -then John states in VS 20 Even so "COME LORD JESUS". Jesus =Alpha and Omega-The Almighty!
Who is the Almighty? The word tell us its Jesus Christ. Rev 1:7-8, Behold I am coming. Who is coming VS 7 tells us the one who is coming has been pierced. Who was pierced at the cross? Jesus of course, VS 8 Says the idenity of the one who is coming it is "The Alpha and Omega-The Almighty. So the one who is coming is pierced and is called the Alpha and Omega "the Almighty". So the beginning theme of Rev 1 is that a person is coming that has been pierced and then called the Alpha and Omega=Almghty
Scripture tells us that there are men who only have human wisdom and there are men who have spiritual wisdom. To acheive spiritual wisdom and thought, we must be born again 1st and then after our transformation of becoming the new creature that God/Jesus makes us, is when we receieve the Holy Spirit, and then and only then will all things be disclosed to us. Man and religions cannot give us anything for they have nothing to offer concerning wisdom of scripture, There is only 1 God that can.
continued........God has no beginning, and when He said, "We will make man in the likeness of us," He wasn't talking to someone that was standing next to Him that He created, He was talking to Himself because He knew that He would manifest in the flesh at a much later time. Jesus was in Him, not with Him. Kind of like when we talk to ourselves. We ask our own selves questions and our own selves talks back. We have a fleshly body and a spirit body. God has a Spirit body and took on a fleshly body
continued....Jesus aka Immanuel-God with us, came to earth to do for us what we couldn't do for ourselves and that was to destroy the works of the devil. Only God Himself could do this. The war with Satan is over with concerning mankind. Satan is no longer in control because of the blood of Jesus and His resurrection. Satans just buying his time now, thats all. God created angel who became the devil and only God can destoy his works and did so thru Jesus/Immanuel. continue............
continued........Jesus knew no sin, Adam didn't know what sin was. God didn't create man to fail, he did so on his own initiative. Jesus didn't know sin but took on sin, and never did anything on His own initiative, why would He, Jesus didn't have free will like man or angels because not only He did the will of His Father, He was the will of His Father. Adam or for that matter would have never passed the test in the wilderness, besides no man can go without food or water for 40 days...continue
continued.........Jesus aka "Immanuel" and Gods Spirit was in God in the OT and God and His Spirit aka "Immanuel" was in Jesus in the NT. The OT is the NT concealed and the NT is the OT revealed. God knowing all things knew that an angel would deceive Him before man was created and of course knew that man woulld fail Him as well. God already had a plan for mankinds salvation before well before the garden. God declared war on the devil, before sin became sin with Adam...continue

Jesus was born of the Holy Spirit, Jesus had all of the Holy Spirit, therefore Jesus is God manifested in the flesh. In the OT, Gods Spirit filled all of His followers, without Jesus. In the NT, Jesus had all of Gods Spirit, because after Jesus, God had nothing else to say. continue.................
Matt.1:20..........".for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit." Nothing God created was of the Holy Spirit. The angel told Joseph that he should call Him Jesus, and then firther on it says that they/we shall His name "Immanuel," which means "God with us." Very powerful here! Take notice that between the birth and ascension of Jesus, Gods Spirit was not given (available) to or for anyone until after Jesus left this world. He and the Father were to send the...continue
" Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who , although He existed in the form of God, ""did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped.""Phill.2:5,6.- In our own limited minds that we have, we will never understand the mind of God. We will never fully understand His full nature, His thoughts, His word, for if we could then we would be equal to Him. In order for us to have some sort of understanding of God, the Holy Spirit has to dwell in us. Jn.3:16-Jn.3:1-8
The bible teaches Jesus is God. Jn 1:1, 2:19-21, 5:18-23,8:58. Jn 10, Jn 17:3, Rev 1:17 to Name a few. The Father is God Jn 17:3, The Holy Spirit is God Acts 5:3-4 and is called eternal. The church indeed struggled with this evidence in the context of monotheism -thus since all 3 are called GOD-Then somehow the 3 have to be this ONE GOD. Whether we understand it or not. Can you understand the mechanics behind God's eternal nature-there4 the Trinity isn't unresonable unless Gods nature is also.
If the Holy Spirit comforts, teaches, commands , forbids, searches the mind of God, and can be blasphemed it is logical to conclude his personality. for only a person can forbid, command, comfort, teach and only the person of God can be blasphemed -which is the unforgivable sin, so lets not blaspheme the Holy Spirit and deny his personhood. for the Holy Spirit is the person of God Acts 5:3-4, The Father sends, The Son dies, and the Holy Spirit comforts the church. Trinity in ACTION.
The Watchtower the leadership of Jehovah Witnesses always argues against Modalism while acting as though they are refuting Trinitariansim. The church condemned Modalism long ago. The Watchtower bold faced lied on the Journal of Biblical Literature by making it say that it agreed with the a god, godlike, divine rendering on p27 of their Should you Believe in the Trinity. The Journal instead boldly declared Jesus as God and as being equal in Nature to the Father. So I ask who is the Father of Lies
People misunderstand the term "The Son of God" it means sameness of Nature and Equality of Being. The term took on a different meaning and Nature from the hearers during the time of Christ. The term "The Son of God" is what got Christ crucified and murdered why? because it implied Deity. So Christ was not avoiding being stoned by accepting the term "The Son of God" it is exactly what got him crucified.
@jwsjuls First born of all creation -you are implying his is the first direct creation of Jehovah God, now is this what the Greek is actually saying not at all, firstborn as the context shows declares that "all" things were made by him and for him-since he is creator he is firstborn-,meaning preeminence. God is preeiminent over all his creation thus firstborn.
@jwsjuls God is not the Author of confusion, Creation logically was made SOLEY for God for christ to be an appointed God and according to Col1:15-17 ALL things were made by Jesus "ALL" means "ALL" and then it goes to say that "ALL things were made by him(Jesus) and were made for him(Jesus). This flies in the face of ALL logic to include him in the created order much less being an appointed created God to which Creation would belong to.This as well violates the 1st commandment of our Jealous God
@42cody1 In the Jewish literature that was not finally accepted as part of the Hebrew Bible, there are passages in which the title "son of God" is given to the anointed person or Mashiach. The title occurs regarding any one whose piety has placed him in a filial relation to God in the following (for some Christians deuterocanonical) books:
@jwsjuls The term Son of God with the article refers to someone very unique not to be confused with othersd thus Christ was the ONLY monogenses begotten Son. EW Bullinger made this clear when he defined the term in his book entitled figures of speech. No doubt others can be called Son of God just as adam was but when its in the context of uniqueness and creatorship the only logical meaning is that Deity is implied. We must take all verse into account about Christ to ensure correct interpretation
@42cody1 mashiach, or moshiach, ("anointed [one]") is a term used in the Hebrew Bible to describe priests and kings, who were traditionally anointed with holy anointing oil as described in Exodus 30:22-25. For example, Cyrus the Great, the king of Persia, though not a Hebrew, is referred to as "God's anointed" (Messiah) in the Bible.
read john10:30-36. the jews accused Jesus of claiming he was God. Jesus rebuked them and said he is theSon of God. If he was God then he just lied to avoid getting stoned. Just as the Jews, the trinitarians believe he claims to be God. Except they don't want to stone him, they want to worship him. Both would be rebuked by Jesus. The RCC claims Jesus as God, Jesus does not. I choose to listen to Jesus, not the church.
@jwsjuls Actually Jn 1:1-3 declares Jesus as God, Jn 2:19-21 declares Jesus as raisng his own body from death, Jn 5:18-23 declares Jesus as Equal in Rank , Nature, and Authority, and as receiving the same worshipful honor as the Father receives, Jn 8:58 he identifies himself as eternal, Jn 10 declares himself as the Shepard of Ps 23=God, Jn 20:28 accepted Thomas statement of worship as calling him his Lord and God. So the term Son of God means he has the same nature as the Father therefore God.
@42cody1 Jn 2: 19-21 God gave Jesus the authority to raise himself and others from the dead. Jesus states this in john 5:18-23. he can't do anything with out the father. his father entrusted him to judge. God appointed Deity to Christ, Mighty God but Christ never calls himself the Almighty God. You need to read on the law of agency. Jesus was and is an agent of God. He is the Son of God. We are to honor him as our savior and the son of God. But God will ALWAYS be the Almighty God.
@jwsjuls what is irionic about the term being used of others and how it differs from Jesus as being the ONLY begotten Son is that No other had the power to resurrect HIMSELF from death. So lets not place Christ is the same category as others because it is blasphemous/ Notice Scripture attest that ONLY GOD raised Christ from death and since Jesus did this act by HIS OWN ADMISSION then he Identified himself as the TRUE GOD, nothing no mere old testament or new testamnet saint could do. Logic
@jwsjuls The whole context of Jn 1:1 argues against your position "In the beginning the word was" the word was being in the imperfect tense declares that this person called the word was indeed Eternal, thus for Christ to be given anything in context with scripture is only that he came as a servant, but what was he before becoming a servant he was Eternal Almighty God as Phil 2 shows. you are confusing his humanity with his Deity as all JWS do. Jn 17:5 declares he had the same Glory.
@jwsjuls Only God can share the same Glory as God and Christ did this before the foundation of the world Jn 17:5 so in this context he had by divine right any GLORY that the Father as well possessed. christ was only given things as his role as a servant in looking on the affairs of man and taking upon himself a servants Natue and as a servant -a human being he had to be given but as God he possessed all of the Glory of God and you would do well to consider it.
@42cody1 plus Christ himself declared "all that the Father hast is MINE. All his praise . All his worship, All his Glory, All his power, All his APPOINTMENTS. Jehovah Witnessess seem to forget all these verses. Christ as a Man received appointment, but Christ as God OWNED everything that the Father had by Divine right! Thus being appointed in its proper context -he is solely speaking as a human being a servant but before coming as a servant he existed as God. Phil 2:5-11, Jn 17:5, Jn 1:1.
@jwsjuls Jn 17:5 Christ "Father glorify me with the Glory I had with thee before the World was. Christ possessed all the Glory of God and that both shared it. God never shares his Glory with anyone thus Christ has to be God as Jn 1:1 declares. Christ possessed the same Nature that was able to possess the same Glory-meaning he was ternal and uncreated "first" the eternal one, who came down by also taking a servants Nature and dying for us, as a man he was appointed but as God he appointed.
@jwsjuls That is honestly a very weak argument. All I would have to do is show where Jesus is Almighty. Anyways I hope you consider what I am saying I am always here for ya. if you ever need anything, I am here for ya. May God open oue hearts and minds and may the Great teacher The Holy Spirit reveal unto all our readers who Jesus Christ trully is. I have considered and studied with The Jws all my family are Jws. Anyways I am not against you personally just the teaching you are standing for.LNC.
@42cody1 Got a question for you, can you tell me what makes the Pope have a right of his position? I want to know whaat you think of that because people in the Bible hold their positions in this way also.
@jwsjuls I do my best to stick solely to scriptures. No one ever said that the Church was perfect, but what Christ did say was that Upon this Rock I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. The church from its origin called upon Jesus as Lord, which is worship applied to Christ. Christ is the Rock which the Church was built upon and he will be the Rock that prevents the gates of hell from prevailing against it. Not the Pope. Love in Christ.
@jwsjuls Jesus wasn't avoing being stoned as you will notice from the context they treid to take him again, so he did not at all calm them down by his statement, They never said oh -you mean your The Son of God -whoops our mistake uh guys put those stones down, they instead stayed infuriated and went to take him again. Why the term The Son of God and his acceptance is what got him crucified, why? because it meant that he and the Father collectively shared in the same eternal uncreated nature.
@MrOribear I understand your feelings but likewise we have to take the whole council of scripture into account to get the full account. Jn 16:30 declares that Jesus knew all things. we have to take the whole council of scripture not just a verse or two. The bible shows Jesus as a man-go and tell my brethren I ascend to my God and your God, he ate, he slept, he died, but as God he RAISED himself from death. Jn 2:19-21 This proves that Jesus was both Man and God, possessing 2 natures.
@42cody1 You quoted Jn 16:30 to declare Jesus knows all things, however Mark13:32 states he doesnt know when the end will be,only God knows. So how is it, that he knows all but doesnt. I find ur statement that we have to take all the council of scripture into account to get the full account to be very patronizing. I am NOT a beginner!! Are you telling me our creator has a split personality?
@MrOribear No, I am not saying that at all. Dont feel patronized. I accept both accounts of scripture that you posted and the church has answered the call. I never ever threw away scripture that attest of Christ inferiority and subjectivity to his God =the Father. Both Christ's subjectivity and equality are taught in scripture, All i meant was that we just cant look at the verses that show his subjectivity and then ignore those dealing with his equality. Thats all that I mean . Love in Christ.
@MrOribear Thank you for your question, if you fully read my previous posts underneath, I believe you will find that answer, not wanting to repeat myself on work already laid -if you don't find what I did as an acceptable answer then please feel free to approach me on any issues that i may not have clarified enough.
It's about EX-JW's who were weak in faith and didn't like to go from House to House like the the first disciples of Jesus did that (Acts 5:42) are here in the Forums or place Videos or Comment them wanting to make disciples for themselves against better knowledge to motivate them to leave the truth but they have nothing to offer and no hope of satisfaction and happiness for them.
It is really sad - nothing to offer but to act like the Devil - is this not demonic - to go back to pagan doctrines?
Or to put it in the words of Joseph Henry Thayer, a scholar who worked on the American Standard Version: “The Logos [or, Word] was divine, not the divine Being himself.”
Does the identity of God have to be “a very profound mystery”? It did not seem so to Jesus. In his prayer to his Father, Jesus made a clear distinction between him and his Father when he said: “This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.”
@knowfather1 so are you saying that the definite article only pertains to the subject or is this article also applied to the-os if found in the predicate? I want to understand you totally, because in John 1:6, the definite article is not used when refering to God. Does this mean it should be translated "a god"?
@robkelly100 definitely not, the absence of the article in this passage has to agree with the whole context of scripture. Christ could never be an extra appointed created deity. John in the Greek Construction chose to place the Theos without the artcle at the begining to draw emphasis to and to guard against Christ being viewed as an "a god "if John placed Theos without the article at the end of the sentence the Jws would then have a gripe.Consult The Journal of Biblcal Lit Vol92 1973. Dr Harner
@knowfather1 actually Thayer as you know was not a Trinitarian but what is significant about him is that he was a very Honest and knowledgeable scholar. Thayer was simply showing the distinction between the the God and the Word just as John did in Jn 1:1, Thayer being an honest scholar clearly taught that Jesus was Equal in Nature, Rank, and Authroity p 307, That Jesus shared the same essence p 288, that Jesus was "The Eternal One" p 554, so in all honesty he agreed scholastically with the Deity
@knowfather1 The word being a divine being qualified Jesus as a distinct person from that of ho theos =the God but this is what the Church has declared since its origin, so Thayer is showing the disticntion of persons, not a distinction in Nature. Thayers Greek English Lexicon not only teaches Jesus as being totally equal in Nature, but also identifies Jesus as being "THE ETERNAL ONE, which is also in possesion of the ARTICLE. Meaning Jesus is God. his teaching disagree with Jehovah Witnesses.
the Word with God. To put it very simply, he does not say that Jesus was God.” Scholar Jason David BeDuhn likewise says: “In Greek, if you leave off the article from theos in a sentence like the one in John 1:1c, then your readers will assume you mean ‘a god.’ . . . Its absence makes theos quite different than the definite ho theos, as different as ‘a god’ is from ‘God’ in English.” BeDuhn adds: “In John 1:1, the Word is not the one-and-only God, but is a god, or divine being.”
@knowfather1 part of your quote at the beginning comes from William Barclay-which the WT took out of context,The rest of the quote before this is The word as to his nature is essential Deity. The WT along with Jason, Wrongly insert a "agod" meaning into to the verse the 2nd use of theos =God/god in this context -John placed it at the begining of the sentence in the Greek construction-which guards against what the WT and Jason B is saying. Meaning the word shared the same Nature as the God
@knowfather1 To put it very simply he does not say Jesus is God, he quoting William Barclay, I will finish the quote, The word as to his Nature is essential Deity, As Kenneth Quest shows, meaning what God was the word was....the NEB, to put it very simply , he does not say Jesus is God. So what is Barclay saying he is saying that Jesus' Nature is Deity and whatever The God is The Word is as well. So William Barclay and Kenneth Quest are saying that the word shares the SAME NATURE!
@42cody1 If the Word and the God share the same Nature then they both are eternal and uncreated. The Watchtower along with @knowfather1 just quoted William Barclay out of context to suit that William Barclay said that Jesus was not God in a way that suits themselves, when William Barclay is saying that whatever the STUFF the God is=The Father-the Word/Son is also of the same stuff, what God was the Word was-NEB. thus JESUS is God by way of being of the same STUFF. Angels aint of the same STUFF.
the Word with God. To put it very simply, he does not say that Jesus was God.” Scholar Jason David BeDuhn likewise says: “In Greek, if you leave off the article from theos in a sentence like the one in John 1:1c, then your readers will assume you mean ‘a god.’ . . . Its absence makes theos quite different than the definite ho theos, as different as ‘a god’ is from ‘God’ in English.” BeDuhn adds: “In John 1:1, the Word is not the one-and-only God, but is a god, or divine being.” Or to put it in
@knowfather1 The WT is famous for quoting out of context and doesn't share any wide support, asDr. Julius Mantey stated that 99% of all scholars that helped in Biblical translation declare that Jn 1:1 firmly declares Jesus as God, meaning the Greek demands it as John did by placing theos without the article at the beginning of the sentence in Jn 1:1 to protect the readers from thinking Jesus was a god in an hellenistic sense to say Jesus is "agod" John would have to use a different construction
articles but the predicates, “Spirit” and “love,” do not. So the subjects and predicates are not interchangeable. These verses cannot mean that “Spirit is God” or “love is God.”
Identity of “the Word”?
Many Greek scholars and Bible translators acknowledge that John 1:1 highlights, not the identity, but a quality of “the Word.” Says Bible translator William Barclay: “Because [the apostle John] has no definite article in front of theos it becomes a description . . . John is not here indentifying
@knowfather1 What Barclay was saying was that we see the same thing in English, if I say James is The Man then we are talking about a difinite person in mind, but if I say James is Man -we then would be identifying James as being Human, but both James and The James share the same Nature hence human, thus the word as to his Nature is essential Deity -meaning as James and The James share the same Nature then so does Christ and The Father. Man without the article becomes descriptive showing NATURE.
The love of God is with his people Jehovahs Witnesses.

and NOT by who knows the most Bible and who has the best arguments supporting the deity of Christ, that the world would know that we are Jesus' followers.

Like a JW has never seen Isaiah 9:6. Does he honestly think they don't know what the bible teaches? When he shows them this verse or that verse they are won over to Christ, seriously.

Jesus was not created. Read John 1:1-4. Then verse 14. I the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the Word was God. Verse 14 and the Word became and dwelt amongst us. Jesus is God and always been God.

ThirdNUnion 7 months ago
@ThirdNUnion But you do not adhere to scripture, you adhere to a magazine produced by high ranking freemasons, which twists the Bible as far as they can. They include some truths largely overlooked by Catholics, they include some total red herrings too, like stakes instead of crosses and denying blood transfusions, and then they have damnable error like saying that Jehovah Christ is only Michael.
Why don't you try and follow the money in your organisation and see where the trail leads?

@mjacobson73 That is not true. What you are referring to is James chapter 2. James is talking about stretching our gift of faith, not salvation. Two separate issues. Read Romans 10:9-13. Please be careful of any deception. Salvation is a free gift from the Lord. Read for yourself. God bless.

@42cody1 I have a question for you. If Jesus is God then why didn't the world end when he died on the cross?
jwsjuls 1 year ago
@jwsjuls If you read my posts I already answered that question in depth, this is why I post mostly indirectly because It shows who read my post or not. -you posed this question after I already answered it. God cannot die. Read my posts and you will see I answered the question. I will say the answer lies in Phil 2:5-11, Jn 2:19-21. God cannot die but he can choose to inhabit a created human body that can. 100 % God-100 % Man. Christ existed in 2 forms =Natures as I have already stated. LNC.
42cody1 1 year ago 2
So we have 2 natures at work during the events at the cross, one as man and one as God. God cannot die, but he did prepare a body for himself to dwell in -in which he could do so. Christ the Servant died-hence his humanity-Son of Man, Christ as God raised his flesh(body) from the grave.-Son of God. Mortal and divine. Jesus said "Tear down this Temple(his body) and in 3 days I will raise it up. Something about his person survived death-his Deity. God cannot die, but Man can.
42cody1 1 year ago
Made a typo, Jn 17:5, not Jn 17:3, sorry.
42cody1 1 year ago
In simple terms Christ according to scripture in his preexistent Nature shared Glory alongside the Father before the Foundation of the World. Jn 17:3 and God never shares his Glory with another. Only God is not a Servant. So the very fact that Christ shared in the Father's Glory and the fact that he was NOT a servant by original Nature identifies him as God. For only God is Not a servant. God can take a Servants form and did for the suffering of death bcause he could not die inhis original form
42cody1 1 year ago
God as we know solely Raised Jesus from death. This is what the account of Scripture speaks unto us through Paul in Phil 2:5-11. That Christ who being in the form of God thought it not robbery to be equal with but emptied himself and took the form of a servant and became obedient unto death. 2 forms are implied here, one of God and one of a servant. Son of Man and Son of God -denotes two natures, one nature can die and the other nature can live on to resurrect the other nature from death.
42cody1 1 year ago
If you are going off the assumtion that Jesus is actually God, then how did God die on the cross and the world didn't end? You wonder how Jesus could just cease to exist for 3 days, which is a debate in it's self. Please explain why the world didn't end?
jwsjuls 1 year ago
42cody1 1 year ago
In fact the Alpha and Omega are the First and the Last letters of the Greek Alphabet, so the term "The First and The Last" is a synonymous term for the Alpha and Omega -who just so happens to be the Almighty. Rev 1:8. The First and the Last is the Almighty Is 44:6. Since Jesus is called The First and the Last then he is the Alpha and Omega-the Almighty. So playing with the terms Mighty and Almighty to make Christ and Extra deity is a Satanic attempt to get believers to break the 1st commandment.
42cody1 1 year ago
42cody1 1 year ago

42cody1 1 year ago

42cody1 1 year ago

The title occurs regarding any one whose piety has placed him in a filial relation to God in the following (for some Christians deuterocanonical) books:
jwsjuls 1 year ago

I choose to listen to Jesus, not the church.
jwsjuls 1 year ago
42cody1 1 year ago
@42cody1 Jn 2: 19-21 God gave Jesus the authority to raise himself and others from the dead. Jesus states this in john 5:18-23. he can't do anything with out the father. his father entrusted him to judge. God appointed Deity to Christ, Mighty God but Christ never calls himself the Almighty God. You need to read on the law of agency. Jesus was and is an agent of God. He is the Son of God. We are to honor him as our savior and the son of God. But God will ALWAYS be the Almighty God.
jwsjuls 1 year ago
@jwsjuls what is irionic about the term being used of others and how it differs from Jesus as being the ONLY begotten Son is that No other had the power to resurrect HIMSELF from death. So lets not place Christ is the same category as others because it is blasphemous/ Notice Scripture attest that ONLY GOD raised Christ from death and since Jesus did this act by HIS OWN ADMISSION then he Identified himself as the TRUE GOD, nothing no mere old testament or new testamnet saint could do. Logic
42cody1 1 year ago
@jwsjuls The whole context of Jn 1:1 argues against your position "In the beginning the word was" the word was being in the imperfect tense declares that this person called the word was indeed Eternal, thus for Christ to be given anything in context with scripture is only that he came as a servant, but what was he before becoming a servant he was Eternal Almighty God as Phil 2 shows. you are confusing his humanity with his Deity as all JWS do. Jn 17:5 declares he had the same Glory.
42cody1 1 year ago
@jwsjuls Only God can share the same Glory as God and Christ did this before the foundation of the world Jn 17:5 so in this context he had by divine right any GLORY that the Father as well possessed. christ was only given things as his role as a servant in looking on the affairs of man and taking upon himself a servants Natue and as a servant -a human being he had to be given but as God he possessed all of the Glory of God and you would do well to consider it.
42cody1 1 year ago
@42cody1 plus Christ himself declared "all that the Father hast is MINE. All his praise . All his worship, All his Glory, All his power, All his APPOINTMENTS. Jehovah Witnessess seem to forget all these verses. Christ as a Man received appointment, but Christ as God OWNED everything that the Father had by Divine right! Thus being appointed in its proper context -he is solely speaking as a human being a servant but before coming as a servant he existed as God. Phil 2:5-11, Jn 17:5, Jn 1:1.
42cody1 1 year ago

I want to know whaat you think of that because people in the Bible hold their positions in this way also.
jwsjuls 1 year ago

This blokes an idiot, his lack of knowledge of the JW's and the scriptures is shocking!! Now show them Mark13:32 and tell them ur wrong!!
MrOribear 1 year ago
@MrOribear I understand your feelings but likewise we have to take the whole council of scripture into account to get the full account. Jn 16:30 declares that Jesus knew all things. we have to take the whole council of scripture not just a verse or two. The bible shows Jesus as a man-go and tell my brethren I ascend to my God and your God, he ate, he slept, he died, but as God he RAISED himself from death. Jn 2:19-21 This proves that Jesus was both Man and God, possessing 2 natures.
42cody1 1 year ago
@42cody1 You quoted Jn 16:30 to declare Jesus knows all things, however Mark13:32 states he doesnt know when the end will be,only God knows. So how is it, that he knows all but doesnt. I find ur statement that we have to take all the council of scripture into account to get the full account to be very patronizing. I am NOT a beginner!! Are you telling me our creator has a split personality?
MrOribear 1 year ago
@MrOribear No, I am not saying that at all. Dont feel patronized. I accept both accounts of scripture that you posted and the church has answered the call. I never ever threw away scripture that attest of Christ inferiority and subjectivity to his God =the Father. Both Christ's subjectivity and equality are taught in scripture, All i meant was that we just cant look at the verses that show his subjectivity and then ignore those dealing with his equality. Thats all that I mean . Love in Christ.

@42cody1 Good point, I struggle with that.

@MrOribear Thank you for your question, if you fully read my previous posts underneath, I believe you will find that answer, not wanting to repeat myself on work already laid -if you don't find what I did as an acceptable answer then please feel free to approach me on any issues that i may not have clarified enough.

So you said Abraham, Issac and Jacob are in heaven. How about David???
Did you ever read
Actually David did not ascend to the heavens.(Acts 2:29, 34) So the good man David did not go to heaven. What about the righteous man Job?

Does this mean it should be translated "a god"?
robkelly100 1 year ago

42cody1 1 year ago

42cody1 1 year ago
@knowfather1 To put it very simply he does not say Jesus is God, he quoting William Barclay, I will finish the quote, The word as to his Nature is essential Deity, As Kenneth Quest shows, meaning what God was the word was....the NEB, to put it very simply , he does not say Jesus is God. So what is Barclay saying he is saying that Jesus' Nature is Deity and whatever The God is The Word is as well. So William Barclay and Kenneth Quest are saying that the word shares the SAME NATURE!
42cody1 1 year ago
@42cody1 If the Word and the God share the same Nature then they both are eternal and uncreated. The Watchtower along with @knowfather1 just quoted William Barclay out of context to suit that William Barclay said that Jesus was not God in a way that suits themselves, when William Barclay is saying that whatever the STUFF the God is=The Father-the Word/Son is also of the same stuff, what God was the Word was-NEB. thus JESUS is God by way of being of the same STUFF. Angels aint of the same STUFF.

42cody1 1 year ago
articles but the predicates, “Spirit” and “love,” do not. So the subjects and predicates are not interchangeable. These verses cannot mean that “Spirit is God” or “love is God.”
Identity of “the Word”?
Many Greek scholars and Bible translators acknowledge that John 1:1 highlights, not the identity, but a quality of “the Word.” Says Bible translator William Barclay: “Because [the apostle John] has no definite article in front of theos it becomes a description . . . John is not here indentifying
knowfather1 1 year ago
@knowfather1 What Barclay was saying was that we see the same thing in English, if I say James is The Man then we are talking about a difinite person in mind, but if I say James is Man -we then would be identifying James as being Human, but both James and The James share the same Nature hence human, thus the word as to his Nature is essential Deity -meaning as James and The James share the same Nature then so does Christ and The Father. Man without the article becomes descriptive showing NATURE.
