  • the devil in me: it's fine to function from choice however decisions need to be made. To choose not to go with a client was still a decision. The choice to later take on the client was still a decision. The peoples choice to vote in our next Prime-Minister will be a decision, in 4 years time we will go through the process again and make another choice, another decision. Boards who don't make decisions cannot function. "choice can only last 10 seconds at a time"is confusing!

  • Luv the devil in you!! Main difference between choice&decision- decision means final, never revisited. Choice is-well-choice, that I can change if other things change. Nothing wrong with using the word decision, as long as you mean choice. Boards who make choices then continually revisit those choices to see if they're still working, make changes when they're not...ie accountability. Good boards do this through their strategic plan, continual environmental scanning.Thx for the devil part-Steve

  • This video demonstrates the importance in the role of choice over decision. The example where indecision / fence-sitting turned to a choice to not work with a client for a particular job, was a choice, and not a decision because it was not a fixed decision. Gratitude from the client in that choice later translated to another choice to take on the client a few months later when it was the gut-feeling / discretion that something in that client changed.
