Faces of War Gameplay

This game looks superior to COH which i truly hate. Can someone tell me if the multiplay if there is one in this game, if it is similar to COH or company of heroes, because if it is, they do not get my purchase, also are you just controlling 1 unit, or an array of units, the entire battlefield basically. Ta.

@sambozauk Its not similar to CoH at all In the Men of War series, you can control any soldier under your control, split them into seperate squads, etc etc, but there are no base building elements to the game. It is also much more realistic. You cant compare, just buy Men of War Assault Squad (grandchild of Faces of War) and play it online, see it and feel it. You probably wont enjoy it though, its very difficult if you dont know what you're doing.

The Difference is that in Faces of War. You usually control a group of Men, while you fight along side large amounts of friendly AI.

In Men of War, you can do this too, but you can also control the whole unit in battle, not just a group.

Soldiers heroes of world war 2 is one of my all time favorite PC games.

Super game great fun and missions and sick attention to detail graphics wise and game play wise.

Faces of war: you control a small amount of troops, with majority being AI. Men of War: Less Allied support, more you. That's the differences in a nutshell.

@Jake902 Same company MoW is just the new game released (better graphics adding Japan playable along with new units) much like Company of heroes when they and their series(Adding new units and factions and they make new games) as far as gameplay FoW/MoW is more Tactical/Action gameplay while CoH is more Resource based.

As much as I love FoW/MoW/Soldiers, I wish they would've done the voice acting for the US better. I mean they sound plenty American, but screaming shit like "For Uncle Sam!" is something I'd expect to find in a game like Command and Conquer, not a (fairly) realistic and gritty game like Men of War. It really ruins the immersion every time I hear them shout something like that.

Thankfully that's like the only complaint I can muster for this wonderful game.

I hate how all the british soldiers sound really posh & poncy . There were alot more than posh english people fighting for the uk...lol...

Although, I actually find it quite funny hearing how lame the voices are compared to the greatness of the game :)

Company of Heroes is watered down and unrealistic. CoH is Call of Duty 4 to Faces of War/Men of War's Operation Flashpoint/ArmA. They're completely different games, the only simularities is that they're both pretty looking World War Two games.

there is a nice mod called "Normandy '44" who really pushes up CoH, in one MP match i was able to build a second westwall against the americans with 9 flak 88's and several more bunkers and medi+repairbunkers. Was really fun because they needed a real army to break through :D
