Sad to have to report that Jimmy just passed away a few days ago. He was one of the last of the great singers. And this is my favorite song of his. He had many others including the theme song from the movie Buona Sera Mrs. Campbell.
@deelovesdis Hi there Ronnie here, I am Bill Miller's Nephew, If you do not know who Bill is, well, uncle billy played Piano for Sinatra SR for 47 yrs. This is the real story.... Sinatra's Mom Dolly, or Nat, like some use to call her, had a birthday coming, and because Roselli was born in Hoboken, and Dolly loved his Italian songs, and Frank Knew that, Jim was asked by Frank, through his people to preform at Dolly's birthday party, at Frank's request, as a surprise. I remember this song over 30 years ago..in a juke box...in a tavern..3 songs for 25 cents..and thats the genius of this song..you remember everything about the place and time of where you heard it.....Mike
Hey Kentucky Jet I can't disagree with you at all...having played in many of the lounges the both appeared in and having heard tem both many times in person...the "Rose" has to go to Jimmy...in my opinion he had it over Sinatra
Dying, he never pushed that fact. Other did, he did not care for Mr S for personal reasons. Two talents in tier own right. But Roselli has one of the best voices out there. A great Italian singer and of the standards. Very under-rated. But I saw him in person and that voice could have went right thru U.
He had a couple of nice ones, and this is great, but did he really have a right to push himself as "the other Frank Sinatra" just because he also came from Hoboken?
Difficult to compare Rosselli to Sinatra. Jimmy was blessed with a beautiful voice, definitely among the best of the era. Frank Sinatra was known for his impeccable and intelligent phrasing. Although he never had a great voice, Frank could deliver a lyric better than just about anyone else, and his musical sense was excellent. I would still rather listen to Jerry Vale or Jimmy Rosselli than Frank Sinatra - but that is a matter of personal taste.
@motley7885 frank was musically better when he had the sweet voice in his early years....each one of these guys has their own contribution to our great american music...don't forget bing!!!! I anm thankful for all of them!
To Larry 2463. My fathers Italian, my mother is not. She probably played more Italian music than my Dad. Sinatra, Dean Martin, Jerry Vale, Roselli, etc. Great memories. Thanks...
Being of Italian heritage, I remember my childhood home was always filled with this kind of beautiful music. The songs of Jimmy Roselli, Jerry Vale, Claudio Villa, and others, go hand in hand with some of my happiest memories of growing up. Thank you, thank you, so much for putting this music on YouTube.
You've put a smile in my heart and a tear in my eye from all the fond memories this brings back.

No question about the voice.Roselli had it. Sinatra had the contacts, end of story.
But in all fairness to Frank,he sure had a stage presence, compelling.

His daughter Ann is a fine singer too!!

Are you living in 1965 or something?
You "know many DJs who won't play him"??
They must be living in your imagination. Radio stations don't even play Sinatra, Martin and Damone anymore.
