  • Kowalski must die - I can't believe a mackem ruined one of the best shows on tele

  • Great song this is.

  • I LOVE THIS FILM

  • THIS IS DUE SOUTH!!!

  • is it just me or does the pic at the bottom left of 0:41 have a bit of Ewan McGregor going on ?

  • I love watching due south. All my friends hate it cuz it's a "old tv series that should never resurface" and I'm like whatever this is by far one of the best series ever-3

  • Takes me right back to my school days, thanks

  • What makes me wonder is why this was cancelled after 4 seasons, while garbage such as one tree hill and the big bang theory have been going on for 8+ seasons

  • What a great series. Love this tune. Thanks for putting it on.

  • THANKYOU MATE.. such a while since i heard this, its great..once again THANKS

  • Funny how this song conjures up so many memories of growing up in the 90s, good times.

  • Many years since I had the utter joy of listening to this track. As a youngster this was wonderful for me. Thank you .

  • Thank you kindly, for this excellent song.

  • Diefenbaker rules

  • watching this makes me feel like a kid again....good times

  • I still want a Mountie like him. Good times

  • Much obliged.

  • It was a great show!

  • i loved this show when i was a kid, the mounty was a good man

  • superb

  • i swear he was my first crush AHA.

  • zajebiste ok poland

  • zajebiste ok

  • Due South is the greatest show ever.

  • Wow, I have the top-rated comment, with (currently) 74 'thumbs-up'. I may as well figuratively say it...thank you kindly ;)

  • @MattSingh1 :D

  • Lovely song.

  • Thankyou Kindly!

  • LOVE this show. Im soooooooo glad my mother had the sense to tape all the episodes she could find when she found out they were cancelling the show on TNT. Even though i was a lil kid when the show was on the air, its weird seeing the '90s commercials again... EXCEPT NOW I GET TO FAST FWD THEM!!! XD

  • Ahh programmes have gone so downhill! :( Lovee this programme! :D Have every episode! x)

  • Awesome ! Nuff said !

  • He was some kind of super cop with sharpened senses right?

  • @rafaleek100 No man,that was The Sentinel.

  • @rafaleek100 Altough mounty had some kind of supersense

  • This always reminds me of Saturday evenings when I was wee, we'd just be in from playing footy and my mum would have the dinner on, Due South would be coming on the telly and all was right with the world, no girl troubles, no job hunting ... just the adventures of an ever polite mountie and his wolf, Benton Fraser and Ray (the original one) were one of the best double acts in TV history.

  • paul gross looks like Mark hoppus from blink 182

  • Strangely enough, it was my initial error, some years after watching Due South that got me into watching Brendan Frasier movies, as I thought he was the one starred in this. And then came the realisation when I found out that it was actually Paul Gross. Top bloke in his own right, and I don't think the show would have been as much of a hit if he weren't in it.

  • @Gallowell Perhaps your confusion stems from the fact that he played Benton Fraser, which sounds an awful lot like Brendan Fraser.

  • @MrLunitunz Perhaps that is it. It has been yonks since I first watched the series and thought that, but the important thing is I know they are two completely different actors now.

  • une série TV qui a marquer mon enfance

  • EPIC!!!!!!

  • <3 Paul Gross is fantastic!!!!!!

  • swietny serial,swietna muza...piekne czasy.........

  • THUMBS UP!

  • Just watched another episode from season 1 :) this show is just different , more funny , sometimes absurd ,sometimes more like comedy show , sometimes great complex detective stories , and the great interaction between veccio and frasier . I liked it when i was like 10 and i love it now when i am 25 :) And its make me want visit chicago and Canada :) Just great !!!!!

  • best show ever

  • AWESOME THEME IS VERY RELATED TO AN AWESOME SHOW......90'S FOREVER

  • I love this show!!!!

  • saddle up ma travelin shoes and melt away all these blues!!! YEEEEHAH!!

  • never forget this times

    thanks mountie fraser

  • 8 people are directionless !!!

  • this stll goes today in Norway

  • love love love love love etc ..... this song !!!!!

  • Due South was one of my favorite shows in the 90's. I also liked Quantum Leap. 90's shows are the best. I'm watching an episode on TV right now.

  • @meatisdeliciouse

    yeah,it's still on itv4?

  • Never understood why this series was never that popular in the states. I suppose it just is probably just a little too alternative for the folks at home who just wanna watch rules of engagement, 30 rock Becker etc. I suppose I should lump in everybody loves raymond and king of queens in there (despite the fact I actually quite like those two shows myself). But I do like the dynamic quirkiness between Fraser and Ray. Early nineties TV was the best. Twin Peaks deserves a lot of credit for that.

  • original ray was best

  • @cjprior88 Yes I also really liked Ray V :)

  • loved this show in the 90's and love it even more now the bbc are replaying them all

btw where can i petition canada to make this into a film ? PLEASE dont let hollywood anywhere near it..!!!

  • OMG i love this song so soothing to me !!! and the show is awesome !!!!!! I LOVE ITTTTT :D

  • What a great TV-Show,I like it very Much! And I like this Theme very!!Fantastic Song!Rules!!Stay cool and just buy this Serial-Monster on DVD!!Rocks!

  • Loving the repeats of Due South on BBC. Such a great show. Great characters and storylines. The sort of stuff you could watch over and over without it being tiresome. Cheers for uploading!

  • What a great TV-Serie!I love it so much! But I never understand why Ray have to be written out of the Plot!Damn! But,it 's the Best Serial until they release My Name is Earl!!Fantastic! And this Song is Hammer!!

  • I work out to this tune YEAH!!!!!!

  • My favourite theme tune EVER!!!

  • Thank you kindly!

  • I used to listen to this track in the car when we drove home from our cabin, 200 miles up north. Fall was approaching, school was about to start again, so I was "due south". It was a bittersweet feeling.

  • Great show!

  • wow x i spent along time looking for this song , x nice one x

  • that theme tune and defenbaker wow

  • siigh... i was so pissed that they cancelled after just four seasons. i wanted this show to go on for at least 10! but all of y'all who love paul gross, check him out in this other series called 'slings and arrows', its fantastic, and paul gross plays a character who is the polar opposite to benton fraser.

  • @ahenmaxtae Lets start a petition to get Due South back! That would be so amazing!!! :)

  • @shawnme08 Seasons 1-3 were shown on BBC2 this year/end of last. I have no idea why they stopped there (maybe they panicked as they only had space for a dozen shows about moving house or selling junk a day?) but the website reckons Season 4 is due to be broadcast (won't say when though!).

  • Due South is legendary, Fraiser as Mountie is funny and the Best Carakter in a Series ever^^

  • This series began well, but eventually became too much "drama" genre for my taste. I like the comedy/adventure formula, without any "drama".

  • @spurnthemuse I'm not sure what you mean. It's true that the first two seasons of Due South had many episodes that emphasized drama (with comedic and adventure touches as well), but the last seasons (after the series was out of production for a year) were really more "comedic adventure" farce than drama. Fraser's "superhero" powers were exaggerated, for example.

I personally like the first two, more dramatic seasons better, but you may like the other seasons better

  • Season 1 Episode 17: "call no man 'father'" -- Jesus Christ

  • hAUNTING.. LOVELY TUNE

  • Oh memories, love this show, always wanted to be Canadian Mountie after watching this show, even though its on now and still great, it was special growing up watching it.

  • @shaz191185 Yeah I wanted to be one too, but then I was like, " Wait, I'm not a Canadian Citizen. Well looks like i'm going to be living in Canada for along time. Better start brushing up on Canadian history."

  • @latter678 Also learn the Canadian language

  • Does anyone know where I can download this song from? like maybe from itunes or some website? cause I really love this intro and I need it on my ipod! anyone?

  • @feeloader emusic.

  • @feeloader It's on Amazon MP3 downloads. Just search in MP3 downloads, under Due South theme song. I think it's in the dollar range.

  • omg! i used to be so in love with Paul Grossman cuz of this show!

  • Wow, did I just discover an argument between two five year olds...? yes, I believe I did... I had better just check all my grammar and spelling, punctuation etc. Lest I get ripped to shreds for having a dot in the wrong place. Thank goodness for the replay button, reading all that crap made me forget to listen to a great soundtrack, thanks for posting it .

  • Please people...lets keep the memories pleasent, lets not have to read the negative comments when listening and remembering the times of Due South :)

  • @MattSingh1 thank you kindly

  • @lkirkup That comment put a genuine smile on my face, thank YOU kindly ;)

  • Wow, is that argument for real. If I were the video poster, I'd delete all your comments. :)

Anyway, love Due South, have not heard the theme for awhile.

  • @arieas well sadly wazzmastermax couldn't accept the fact that he lost a grammar debate, so I was simply responding. He REALLY doesn't like to lose and imagines other people are angry when they point it out. Perhaps he'll grow balls eventually.

  • wow! so nice

  • as much as i love this song and the show it's from it always makes me feel sad when i hear this. it's like i miss my friends Benny and Ray, you know?

  • well sed mate i wish i was still a teen

  • Over here in beautiful British Columbia, its on twice a day all weekdays and its on Country Music Channel at 3:00 PM and Encore Avenue at 5:00 PM

  • @buck1888 I wish this show was on due south (see what I did there) here in Washington. I used to love it as a kid. I mean, I have 5000 channels and not one of them has Due South on it.

  • love it!

  • How the hell can you dislike this?

  • Awh i used to love this! and the song-takes me back to being like 10! The 90's were the best for TV :D

  • I refuse to believe that the mounty is gay in real life. No way>

  • Am so happy the BBC is repeating this great serise. Takes me back to a very very happy childhood. The joy of watching it now [all these years later] as an adult is I pick up on things I missed as a kid. Things such as the comedy, the romance [just watched Part 1/2 of Victoria] and the great relationship/double act Frasher and Ray had. Add that togther with the legend [and star of the show when I was a kid] Diefenbaker and the best TV theme in history and what u get is...classic TV gold.

  • @TimelordTVRevolution to rlght it is a classic i want them all

  • good its back on bbc 2

  • i realy dont know why i like this but i love it! so glad they started playing it again! forgot all about it

  • There's something about this show that just makes me feel at home

  • I really love Due South!! I remember watching it when I was like 7 and then there would be Superman or something on afterwards! I'm actually watching the whole series now on Youtube lol !

  • An amazing Show as a Canadian I think the portrayal is accurate of some of us

  • Yes indeedy, we Brits really did - & still do!! - love 'Due South'! Go Benton!!

Thank goodness for the good old Beeb deciding to re-run this series! from last month.

LKF: Callum Keith Rennie (played Stanley Raymond Kowalski, the 2nd side-kick) is originally a Geordie [well, actually the term in Sunderland is a 'Mackem' rather than a 'Geordie', but that's another story!] - yep he was born & lived in the NorthEast of England b4 his Scottish parents emigrated to Canada when he was 4yrs old!

  • thanks for the info

  • does anyone know the name of the song itself.

  • @jaguarxjr2 The song is called 'Due South' by the Northern Pikes or it's sometimes just attributed to Jay Semko, the band's lead singer.

  • Paul Gross whether he's playing a clean cut RCMP, or the Yuppie developer on Red Green or he's a little devil (Eastwick) LOVE HIM LOVE LOVE LOVE him

  • loved this, first "serious" tv show i was into. I was 8

  • Yummy!! Got into Huskies because of this programme 1st time around and yes it REALLY IS back on British TV thank goodness!! Something worth watching for a change... A great way to brighten up a bad day... Paul Gross is still good eye candy!

  • ITS BACK ON!!!!

  • Great tune, great show, much love to the time/circa of this show :) Happy times indeed

  • Haha takes me back. Used to watch this as a kid. Always loved the theme song.

    Re-runs on BBC2!!!

  • @BodaciousWickerman :-O what times? And are they putting them on the internet?

  • @WiccanHighPriest0 there on monday to friday at 1pm bbc 2 i think there on bbc i player as well

  • @michaelkeeble1 thanks. And just to be pedantic, it's 'they're' in that context :)

  • @WiccanHighPriest0 If you're going to be pedantic do it properly; I picked Michael up on there/they're, there/their, your/you're, nova scotia/Nova Scotia, iv/I've, due south/Due South, dident/didn't, wot/what, english/English, dont/don't, dollors/dollars, an newer/a newer, dont/doesn't.

    Now your turn. Sentences begin with a capital letter 'thanks' and don't start with 'And'. Before you pick someone up for a wrong, make sure you're right;

or just read the meaning, this is YouTube not School!

  • @wazzmastermax my sentence started with a face. And you can hardly tell me this is not school if you've picked someone up on more things than I have. Also, check the Oxford English Dictionary - type in 'grammar myths'; sentences can start with 'And'. Before you try to correct someone else, make sure you know what you're talking about :-)

  • @WiccanHighPriest0 Aaah, It seems you missed the point of my picking someone up. Let me s p e l l it out for you.

I picked someone up to illustrate that you could do so all day, but to do so is futile... get it now? If not, ask a grown up.

Starting a sentence with 'And' is acceptable but should be used carefully and efficiently, you're probably not familiar with those concepts. Oh and my mistake... The OED states that faces are an acceptable way to start a sentence!? haha fool.

  • @wazzmastermax You can probably. learn English from your local high school teacher. They may charge a fee though. At the very least, they should be able to show you a dictionary for free. There is nothing about any qualification (look up the different meanings of that word so you don't think I'm talking about (your lack of) a high school diploma) for using the word 'And' at the start of a sentence

  • @WiccanHighPriest0 How can I argue with someone that starts their justification:

"You can probably. learn English from your local high school teacher." ...?

A full stop randomly in the middle, no capital letter for the broken follow on sentence.

I hired a teacher like you suggested and they let me look at their dictionary for free (very kind). Nowhere could I find justification for a complete sentence reading "You can probably." I rest my case.

I didn't really hire, that was "sarcasm".

  • @wazzmastermax clearly an accidental full stop. An educated person would know that.

  • @WiccanHighPriest0 An 'educated person' would proof read their work before submitting, especially when to err would be to embarrass; as the topic we are 'discussing' is grammar.

This isn't going well for you is it?

  • @wazzmastermax: An educated person would know that 'proofread' is one word. Enough said.

  • Comment removed

  • @wazzmastermax A man who can't understand the dictionary when it provides only one way of writing a word.

As for my use of the word 'clearly' without a capital letter, at least I left it instead of deleting my obviously-accidental error.

    You poor thing.

  • @WiccanHighPriest0 That's the difference between you and I; I will correct my errors whereas you are happy for your substandard grammar to be released in open forum for scrutiny.

You can't criticize a positive I'm afraid, so I'll take your comment as a compliment! Thanks very much. Game, set and match I believe.

    Numpty haha.

  • @wazzmastermax Unfortunately for you, you are wrong - you just tried to use 'Game, set and match' in the same comment in which you committed two grammar errors. The first was that you committed the classic error of trying to use the word 'I' when it should have been 'me' in that context, and secondly you followed the very common grammar myth of failing to use a comma before the word 'and' when a comma would have been sensible to use.

    Checkmate.

    Who's the numpty now?

  • @WiccanHighPriest0 So we have moved from factual grammatical errors to the personal and somewhat subjective opinion of 'sensible to use'? We are scraping the barrel aren't we? By 'we', I mean 'you' haha.

I prefer not to use what's known among the educated as the 'serial comma', the one that comes before the 'and'. Do try and keep up.

Now go and spend another few days researching another poor response, you're boring me now - numpty hehe.

  • @wazzmastermax It's O.K., lots of other people are bad losers too.

  • @WiccanHighPriest0 Don't be too hard on yourself, you put up an adequate but poorly researched fight that lacked conviction at the end. Take the 'experience' away for the future.

    ;-)

  • @wazzmastermax Why would I be hard on myself when I've won? Don't worry - like I said, lots of other people are bad losers too. But you could use the experience to improve in the future.

  • @WiccanHighPriest0 Haha, why didn't you just cut and paste my comment? Seeing as you couldn't think of anything original to say.

You really are a complete buffoon, hilarious haha.

  • @wazzmastermax my comment was very original. I realise the reason you find that difficult to see is probably that you're so angry at losing, which is why you are now resorting to insults.

Just use your experience for the future.

  • @WiccanHighPriest0 Quote from me: "Take the experience away for the future", followed by quote from you: "use the experience to improve in the future".

Original eh? Does the word Buffoon insult you? Wow, you must cry when it rains!!

    Next...

  • @wazzmastermax poor you

  • @WiccanHighPriest0 No response? A convincing victory on my part, was there ever any doubt?

    Cheers, take it easy!

  • @wazzmastermax I don't need a response. I won. You got blown out. Suck it up.

  • @WiccanHighPriest0 Yes what was I thinking, because you said it, it must be true... or, in the words of met12345100...

Short but to the point haha, take a hint... you're a c**t (no offence) hehe.

  • @wazzmastermax lol you REALLY are a bad loser

  • @WiccanHighPriest0 Haha, I have to lose first remember lol, keep trying.

  • @wazzmastermax poor you. Can't even accept when you've lost

  • @WiccanHighPriest0 You know, when you have to say that you've won... it's usually because you haven't.

Someone else even thought your last comment was spam! Does it need to be spelt out.

    Poor poor guy.

  • @wazzmastermax no they didn't Hey think you've won if it makes youself feel better, it won't change facts though.

  • @WiccanHighPriest0 Hey for once I agree with you, what I think won't change the facts...

... it just so happens that the facts and what I think, in this instance, are in line with each other. Take care little fella.

  • @wazzmastermax I laughed but I actually feel sorry for you. If you don't even have the balls to accept that you lots (and thus your thoughts and the facts are NOT in line with each other), what are you going to be like if someone attacks you? Maybe you should start taking some self confidence classes or something

  • @WiccanHighPriest0 Yeah right, I 'lots'... hmm. While we're back on the subject of classes, I refer you to the original topic of spelling and grammar.

Case well and truly laid to rest on that one. Now who laughs ;-)

P.S. I never get attacked because I'm such a likeable chap!

  • @wazzmastermax considering the fact anyone with working eyesight could see that I almost immediately posted a comment correcting my spelling, still me who laughs.

As for referring me back: you lost. Get over it. We're not on that topic because you LOST. Get a pair and deal with it instead of being such a crybaby

  • @WiccanHighPriest0 Ouch... did I hit a nerve? :-) Time heals all my little buddy.

  • @wazzmastermax not at all. You just clearly need some balls since you can't even graciously accept a loss.

  • @WiccanHighPriest0 Now now, you nearly hit me with that teddy bear you just threw out of your cot.

You're quite obsessed with balls aren't you? Would you like a hand opening the door to that closet?

Oh and... I still won ;-)

  • @wazzmastermax bless you

  • @WiccanHighPriest0 Cheers ;-)

  • @WiccanHighPriest0 who the fuck you think you talkin to bitch fuck off

  • @met12345100 aww poor you. Bless you

  • @wazzmastermax so you have no case

  • @BodaciousWickerman no way really ??? cool cheers for that !!
