  • i know when i was stage 3 zzp and full bolt ons we did a dig and a roll race he the dig i beat my buddies mopar stage 1 srt4 by a front bumper and froma 40 roll i beat him by 4 cars. any car can be fast depends on how deep u pockets are

  • @srt4slow you have to many boost controlers msd wires dont do shit exept less chance of arcing k&n intake no better then a cheap aftermarket intake and why would you spend $200 on flashing your computer the gov doesnt kick in till i think 149... the only thing your getting is a diff fuel mix. why not spend it on a programer or ign coils... big waste

  • @srt4slow your 05 must be a piece of crap then. my car does make those numbers.Stage 1 comp, Greddy EBC,maxfabb dp no cat, BFMIC that wasnt on the car when dynoed,thats it .stock susp,stock clutch,all season tires. what are you talking about cant put down that much tq? I know of people making alot more tq than that on stage 1,just because yours doesnt dont hate on someones elses.

  • @FranksTube86bad- yes and no. The ss has a bigger stock turbo then the srt.And the srt has a lower "rated" hp.my 03 rated at 215 put down 265/304 @ the wheels with 2 bolt ons and stage 1.. Also at the end it looked like top of 4th gear the srt was edgin out the balt a little.

  • @mightymatt14 for one the cobalt ss is supercharge not turbo and its sad that the str4 lost its way lighter and has a better tune stock and as you can tell it does have mods the cobalt is stock

  • @ebach1996 If this was an actual 2009 Cobalt SS it would have been a turbo, GM stopped making the supercharged Cobalts in early early 2008....Get your facts straight before you talk shit ;)

  • @ebach1996 I can't honestly answer that, but I know ZZP took their twin-charge setup off the market because it wasn't dependable. I don't honestly think its an option, but of course you can always get a Eaton M62 and throw it on there, UNLESS they have totally reconfigured the block.

    I have seen some fast cobalts, but I have seen some fast SRT-4s so It's really all in what you like.

  • @Colby4trs Did you forget the ecotec motor is also smaller than the SRT-4's motor? It's not like all my friends dont drive SRT-4's or anything. I have seen them with 50 trims and meth to 44 delta kits and of course the mopar stage 3R.... But I guess I dont know what I'm talking about huh?

  • @mightymatt14 just swap the motor out with a grand national motor and youll eat most people on the road, i have a camaro and i even know that that motor is god, cost efficently wise you should buy it

  • I would just like to say 8Balt is pretty smart and knows what he is talking about. I just put the car on the dyno and put down 286whp and 312lbs of torque(3rd gear pull). I think thats pretty impressive for a 2.0L 4 cylinder FWD Cobalt

  • @mightymatt14 Your car cost what? 25k or so? What an intake and exhaust cost almost nothing the priciest intake i found was about 300 and exhaust was about 1000 thats still about 3500 short and those bolt ons would add around 35-50 HP. Sucky driver?

  • @zTeamBiohazardx why do people think intake and exhaust add so much hp, no, they dont, both those maybe net u like 15-20 hp, if that, just cause it says this is what it adds on the part discription, doesnt mean it actually does. lol thats in a best case situation, which almost never happens. U sound like a kid who dont know much about actual machanics of cars, just one of those what u hear and what uv read guys. no offence, but that aint knowlage. to many of those around, get to know for real.

  • When I had nothing other than stage 2, i mean stock right down to the air filter besides stage 2 I laid down 263 whp on the dyno. So the factory freaks do exist. Now I got just about every bolt on available. and some custom one off pieces I've made myself

  • You guys are talking about the new cobalt though which is not as nice looking IMO. If i had the option I'd take the supercharged one anyday. I have an SRT-4 because i couldn't find the SS-S on the west coast. Btw SRT-4 stock is about 240 HP and 255 Torque at the wheels too. Mine is at about 264 Hp and 275 Torque so far.

  • SRT-4 stock is 230-235 WHP and about 250 torque. I owned one and I know alot of guys who still do, I also worked at Dodge as a Tech for 3 years. The SS T/C is between 240-250 HP to the wheels (the average range i've seen) and about 260 torque. It also has no lift shift, identical weight and a more capable closed loop turbo. And btw, the SS T/C and the SS S/C are identical in every way except the Turbo has different wheels and is a bit lower and more powerful. S/C is better for the street IMO.

  • I thought the SRT-4 was like 223 hp to the WHEELS tho ranked 230-245hp at the crank, idk about the Cobalts tho

  • @PutzkiSniper srt-4 are underrated, im sure they do more then 223 to the wheels, cobalts tc usually do about 245 to the wheels. with a tune about 300 to 315 to the wheels. unless its the gms1 tune then its around 285ish to the wheels.

  • @tomjw7 Yeah in 03 they made about 225, then 04 and 05 had stage 1 injectors and i was told "05 had a pickier computer" so the 04 and 05 im sure made a little better. But me and the family were in my SRT just after eating another adult and 3 grown kids and we blow off a Turbo SS. So thats about 1000 pounds extra so 3800 pounds with s2 and bolt ons about 20 psi, S2 makes about 300 at the wheels and bolt ons and an extra 5 psi let us smoke a Turbo SS...

  • @zTeamBiohazardx he must have been in a stock cobalt and not known how to drive. but the s2 srt does not make 300whp, it makes about 280 crank hp, so unless u got dyno sheet to prove that, dont way over estimate, lol maybe with those 25 psi u were running u were over 300hp, which is why ud beat a stock tc cobalt, but also why ur gonna kill ur motor if u keep that up.

  • Isn't as nic looking? Are you fucking serious? That is the most retarded comment i've yet heard. They are identical in every way except two. Seats and Wheels. And you must have a rare SRT-4 because nobody and I mean nobody (I have well over twenty friends with SRT's) ever made more than 234 whp stock and 244 torque. FYI, the Cobalt weighs almost identical and puts down an average of 242-249 WHP and 275-278 Torque. It also eats stock SRT-4's and stock SS S/C's.

  • Sorry i meant the SS supercharged has way less power than the SRT-4. Not the new SS.

  • stock for stock the ss will pull on teh srt-4 a bit more than a stage 2 ss/sc does

  • im guessing you never raced a stage 2. i have intake and full exhaust and a weight reduction on my ss/sc, i have a friend with an nsrt-4 stage 1 and intake its the 04 model. when we race i pull a car in 2nd, he pulls ahead to my front bumper in 3rd and i stick to it until 130 mph, every time. i lose by that much to stage 2 ss/sc also...

  • actually yes i have ran an S2 SS/SC ...but i think i have a factory freak because my only mods at the time were exhaust and blow off lol :D

  • exhaust and blow off make a difference in the srt-4, as far as being a factory freak, its definetly possible. i've seen some stock 240 whp ss/sc factory freaks, its very rare tho
