  • one of the only american sprinter i like..

  • @helloares Tyson gay is cool too, tyson is a very nice guy.

  • What a class act.

  • INSANE IN THE MEMBRANE! dude's eyes got big thinking "you listen to cypress hill? lol

  • True athlete right here.

Not complaining about the result, and still looking to do better.

  • The thing I like about this video is he is exactly like this away from the public eye. He works hard for everything he has and has respect for others in the game that prosper as well.

  • Wallace Spearmon is that dude!! Awesome guy, my all time fav 200m runner!!

  • I just watched the 4×100 where Bolt passed this guy for the win - laughing as he did so - and Spearman took it really well smiling back at him. He's a good guy in my book.

  • insane in the membrane LOL .... insane got no brain!!!

  • i once did exactly 9 seconds on 100m and i'm not makin this up, i just don't race in competitions that's why nobody's heard of me, and i'm 16 also

  • @NEGATIVEPLANET I used to be 6'6 and a talented basketball player, until I got an elevator in my head and became 5'10.

  • @snyggman lolz

  • @NEGATIVEPLANET I'm not tryin' to be mean, but if people see high school students run that fast, peoplel will hear about you, coaches will notices you, gym teachers etc... If you can run fast, great.. keep ate it, eat healthy, work hard. It helps you with chicks, and make sure you live a long healty life, and you feel great doing it. I'd have a like your gym teacher or more than one person time you to make sure your results are accurate and consistent. Gl.. have fun runnin'.

  • @NEGATIVEPLANET i ran 4 seconds flat!

  • Usain Bolt better then Wallace Spearmon

  • @MadRippersky no shit dumbass

  • Yeah OK, but when will you finally release that Detox album ?

  • Good interview, great guy!!!!

  • Wallace Spearmon = A True Class Act

  • What a classy guy.

  • I HATE ADS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Mitjitsu adblock+ yes, I'm your daddy.

  • He is humble, he knows where his shortcoming is, he is working on it, he seems willing to listen, finally, he will win one day. A great guy. I wish him all the best!

  • I like Wallace spearmon. I wonder if he thinks in his head....man how did Bolt get so fast? Same as Tyson Gay, being friends and training partners respectively. I don't buy the height thing either. If it's height, we should start training dwight howard or Lebron to sprint, but the reason shorter sprinters typically do better is the start and the natural power to weight ratio they have.

  • I heard about the big forehead diet. It requires you to eat spearmint leaves all day.

  • 3:18

thats the look of a man deciding that aiming for number 2 is ok

  • @zonjordan ha although this is true...but you know you gotta be realistic.....beating bolt on his world record form?? nah i dont think so even shawn crawford the cockiest american ever....says that if he can run 19 5x he'll be happy

  • Tyson Gay<Wallace Spearmon<Usain Bolt

  • Spearmon is so humble. Almost feel sorry for him, he either gets bronze or dq'd!

  • I love Spearmon. Dont want you to beat Bolt but still I think that you are a great athlete.

  • @lakesha171 Fuck bolt! Go Spearmon!

  • aww hes such a sweet guy.

  • I like this guy alot! Great personality, you can tell he is real and not very fake..I want to handle an interview like that someday(lulz at future track dream)

  • Yeah, I actually have personally met and hang out with wallace several times. Hung out with him last night too actually. I'm sure people won't believe me, but what ever. I could care less. I just want to say that Wallace is like this in person, and humble. I had no idea he was an olympic athlete for the first week I met him. It was others that told me actually. Respect Wallace Spearmon!

  • @jonofmac

    no one believes you

  • Wallace is a great guy. I like how he holds his composure in his interviews! Watching interviews like this is almost as good as watching the race itself!

  • "insane. insane in the membrane?" hahah what a goobenstein

  • Why did Wallace Spearmon cut his hair?...He looks a lot better with it.

  • @soulrebelggg .. Less weight, on the biggest stage atheletes will take every step to lose extra weight.

  • Wallace Spearman. This is an excellent attitude from a supreme athlete. I doubt if he will ever bear Usain Bolt but his attitude will allow him the best opportunity to come as close as he possibly can. That may be both ALL he can do and EVERYTHGING he can do and I wish him luck.

  • like wallace he ra a seasons best and he couldnt ask for any more but that just shows that bolt is an animal and i do think bolt will run under 19sc easily when he in his prime

  • Why did Wallace Spearmon cut his hair???...It looked alot better it he used to plait it.

  • @soulrebelggg He's an adult with endorsements. After a certain age, the braids just don't cut it.

  • right about now, most of the american sprinters are actually chilled, not arrogant as before

  • He has Thors Hammer tattooed on his shoulder, respect.

  • Great interview, very articulate. Good attitude. Good solid package.

  • Nice guy. A credit to his sport

  • lol...

Jounalist > "did he give your any advise?"...

Spearmon> "yea.. he told me not to step on the line"

    hahaha class!

  • Wallace is the man!!

  • My brother is a U.S. Paralympic Sprinter and he got to meet Spearon and said he was a really good guy.

You can see it in this interview.

  • omg i finally get the other interview where bolt says "hey spearmon, did you call me insane?" haha

  • mad props to Wallace Spearmon now...i have alot more respect for him now. Very humble and he's quite the good sport. btw with his closing speed is it just me or should this man be running the 400m dash as well?...im just saying.

  • vey humble guy...he knows he was outclassed by USAIN BOLT, but he acted with alot of humility..

  • @AlphaDraconis7 Agreed. Spearmon has a great attitude.

  • Mad respect, Spearman is a true professional. Damn reporters asking him all about Bolt, wtf.

  • hes gorgeousssss

  • Wallace Spearmon is a very humble youth. Nuff respect Wallace and I hope you can get to improve on the curve because hands down you are the best closer I have ever seen to run a 200m.

  • very good 200m runner, i think he need to improve is first 100m, the late run on sometimes get the better of him.one of the beter sprinters in the event.

  • I have to say..i gotta give respect to wallace...he was so humble in honoring bolts achievement... its way more than i can say for other american athletes who gets beaten.

  • spearmon is a class act. shame for him and others right now that usain has brought it to another level...but its been a long time coming. steroids ruined T&F for too long and gave the public unrealistic expectations. its taken nearly 30 years for the standard to catch up.

  • i think he'll break 19 and 9 seconds.

  • i hate how these reporters are talking to him as if he's a spectator/ametuar he is one of the fastest men on the planet "!Cot dammit!" he works hard

  • haha...who is this crazy person...people in Jamaica go to University by 16/17 if they get in high school at 11/12. So they are able to finish university by 22. Btw, i was done at 21.

  • 3:15 lol... yeahhh that guy's an animal.. lmao

  • @turnbacktime lmfao.. ikr funny shit... smh

  • Hes a good man

  • Yeah maybe not number 1 but hes seems nice enough and gracious in defeat, and he can still run quicker than most! Be interesting to see how quick he is when he nails that bend..

  • wallace spearmon is still one of the fastest on earth.

  • Srearmon seems like a cool guy & comes across as being sincere but if he runs a fast curve it will cancel out his strong finish ,so for him it's either moderate curve / strong finish or strong curve / moderate finish , he runs the 200 like a 400m specialist , he should give the 400m a serious try .... Re: Walter Dix he got two gifts in Beijing one from Asafa in the 100m & 1 from the officals in the 200m

  • yeah, because the officials enforcing rules shouldnt be done.

you sound like such an idiot. Spearmon stepped on the line, so he is not deserving

  • what are talking about ?? , are you an idiot ??

  • Comment removed

  • uh no, i just dont agree with your extreme comment that Dix didnt earn his gold and that it was stolen from spearmon

i never knew people were opposed to enforcing rules so that sprinters dont run in other runners' lanes like wallace spearmon did

he got DQ'd because he fucked up, its his fault, he doesnt deserve shit

  • This is a great interview, respect Wallace Spearmon.

  • @MrDavidp180 He is definitely NOT doping...I feel for Spearmon but respect him. I remember back in the days Spearmon used to beat Gay and Bolt, then a year or so later, BOOM, Bolt was abducted and started crushing records.

  • @TheAngeltoDemon Bolt was a lot younger and still growing and getting stronger when he was losing to sprinters. I feel for the world of track. He said he was hoping for second.

  • @topdog90U I hear you. I am SO PISSED about worlds though. I don't blame Bolt too hard, because i think it's a bad rule, they should go back to charging the entire field then disqualifying the next guy. Damnit, he was going to blow out a 100, but with such a weak field, it was just a shame. This was the world championships that weren't to be for the fastest men in the world. Luckout by Blake, but hey, he won it fair and square.

  • can i ask when these ppl sprint do they like 'force' their arms back? I run with my elbwos almost at my sides but they look like the run with their elbows behind their back, like pushed back (if that makes sense)

  • lotta respect for how humble wallace is after a loss. alot of runners wouldnt have been that classy

  • usain is the best runner but wallace is the most beautiful . waw

  • agree wif u

  • great sportsmanship, he really surprise me for a USA competitor

  • Spearmon is not like the typical brash American athlete who tend to be cocky and conceited. He shows true sportsmanship and this is a true testament how Sporting Competition should be conducted. Hats off to you Wallace.

  • there is no typical brash American athlete

lets see the top US sprinters

    1. Tyson Gay

    2. Walter Dix

    3. Shaun Crawford

    4. Wallace

    all super humble dudes

  • @PowerSprinter Agree with all on your list except for Walter Dix. He's neither humble nor a gracious loser.

Gay is shy and humble, Wallace is funloving and energetic with a great personality, Crawford personifies graciousness and sportmanship. Dix with his over inflated ego and bad behavior doesn't belong with the rest of them.

  • you have not seen many interviews with walter dix then

he acts very confident before races

but after races he is very humble and unassuming

  • @PowerSprinter Have you seen the interviews he did in the year after the Olympics? He acts humble on the tracks, off the tracks he has a giant chip on his shoulders and a false sense of entitlement.

And don't even get me started on what happened between he and his agent, in addition to the Nike contract fiasco.

As I said, Gay, Crawford, and Spearmon are great on and off the tracks. Dix isn't.

  • i have never seen him act cocky at all. i hae seen his interview after winning the 200m dash at the olympic trials and he was extremely humble and actually hyped up tyson gay and crawford. and he was the same after winning the 100m dash his freshman or sophmore year

  • @PowerSprinter When Dix was asked about Bolt's WR in Beijing, his response was why should he talk about how well someone else ran, they should ask about his. He also broke off with his agent this year because he said she failed to make him a household name (how conceited is that). And even though he had the most lucrative shoe contract in track w/ Nike at the time (even though he only got bronze in Beijing), he thought he deserved more money. None of that spells humility. That's all ego.

  • i dont know man

First of all, this is what Dix actually said after the olympics

they asked him, "what was it like to wee Bolt run so fast"

and Walter dix said "I REALLY DIDNT THINK ABOUT BOLT, I WAS JUST FOCUSED ON MY RACE"

that doesnt sound like anything bad to me.

I am looking up other interviews and he is really nice and genuine in all of them too

  • @PowerSprinter That isn't the interview I was refering to. Keep looking, you'll find the one I mean. Besides, anyone who thinks 2 bronze medals (one of which was only by default) entitles you to be a household name has way too much ego. His Nike contract gave him more money than Bolt got from Puma and Gay got from adidas, and he still thought he deserved more. Please. His ego is bigger than his talent.

  • n way man. he just came out of college.

walter dix is an incredible athlete.

think about it, he ran 9.93 in college.

he has injury problems and once he gets over those, he will be a contender for the Gold

i think that the second fastest man in america deserves to be a household name,

walter dix is the future of american sprinting son.

ive been a huge dix fan (lol) since his days when he had epic battles with trindon holliday in the 100m dash and relays

  • @PowerSprinter Have to disagree with you there. The second fastest man in America does not get to be a household. Why should Dix be a household name and Tyson Gay (the fastest American and second fastest in the world) isn't.

Asafa Powell was the second fastest man in the world until a few months ago, and held the WR multiple time, and very few outside track & field have ever heard of him. Bolt and Blake (and some others) have run 9.93 or better while in college, so Dix isn't that special.

  • i think that tyson gay is getting closer to being a household name, i saw him on sportscenter recently joking around

Bolt never went to college and i dont believe Blake did either

having the Collegiate world record is a big deal

  • bolt went to university stupid cunt :)

  • what university?

i highly doubt it since he would be in college right now considering hes only 22

  • name one cocky american athlete honestly theyre all humble... everyone wants to hate on american athletes for no reason

  • i LOVE tyson gay...but he can be pretty cocky sometimes lol

  • @jive87 gay isnt cocky! He's one of the more humble sprinters like spearmon, never outlandish and always a good sportsman, watch him pre-race and his interviews if you don't believe otherwise.

  • @speedyslime93 I agree with you. I never thought Gay was arrogannt. He seems like a private man who just loves running.

  • Lance Armstrong... Lol

  • spearman seems like a really nice guy

  • You, as a sensible person (I assume), must know that evolution, or at least the survival of the fittest part of it is not happening anymore. Even if it was happening, it takes millions of years. So this Impossible time just depends on a chance mutation to create someone who is perfect for running. This correlates somewhat to population.

0.6 seconds faster is roughly equal to to 7m distance ahead. I find this very unlikely.

  • I dont think a sub 9 is possible AT ALL.

  • I agree, unless the wind was +5.0 then perhaps.

  • no, it could be +10 and you wouldent run it.

Its impossible. Leg turnover can only get so fast.

  • bolt aleady smashed 9.69 who is better than legends he is already one

  • gullystunna123 asafa powell might of ran a 8.6 in the relay but when he got the batton he only had torun like 90 meters soee he didnt run 8.6 for a actual 100m

  • I like this vid, ya they are friends for sure. ( not that i ever suspected otherwise.)

  • just wait untill usain is about....say 25-26

usain is going to break the 9 second barrier for the 100 m and break the 19 second barrier for the 200 m......

  • Dude why bother saying that... Lol asafa already did that if u watched the Relay And timed Asafa wen he got the batton you wud see he hit 8.6

  • Asafa already had momentum going into that hundred. thats why he doesnt come close starting from the blocks.

  • we all kno that....but wat im saying is...if usain doesnt get injured...he is going to break the 9 secong barrier like how asafa broke the 10 second barrier

  • Asafa wasnt the first to break the 10 sec barrier, it was broken long before Asafa stepped on the scene. you trippin kid

  • wake up from your dream

  • I sooo want to eat him up!

  • WHAT?!?!?!

  • Great charisma Spearmon :)

  • Golden League Meeting' Bruxelles 4th September 2009 -

startlist: 200 M MEN 6 SPEARMON Wallace USA!!!

  • 12th IAAF World Championships in Athletics 3 f 19.85 Berlin 20/08/2009... I like it!

  • Spearmon, eat some chicken nuggets and you will be as fast as mr bolt

  • Quite frankly, I'm tired of Spearmon running 19.8s. He's better than that! It's time to step up his game. I'm sure he's tired of watching world records set from 8 meters back, at least make it 2 or 3 meters, dang, lol.....But seriously though. I think he actually could be a challenge to Bolt, if he worked on his base speed

  • cute eyes.. cute smile.. ahh .. I like him :)

  • very considerate athlete, i think he would have gotten the silver. he is a truth sportman

congratulation spearman on you medal and professionalism shown thru the sport

  • i really like this guy, he is super cool

  • Spearman, Jamaica loves you too but you have to remember, "WE ARE THE THIRD HAPPIEST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD" and when we are bad, we're bad. When we're good we're good.

We deh yah fi nyam America food ... without steroids!!! JAMAICA TO THE WORLD!!!

  • Spearman is cool congrats on the bronze

  • Comment removed

  • INSANE BOLT is a very nice definition...

  • Good interview, Spearmon. Good job on the track as well.
