  • @Blitzbok: I could be extreme if it was turned all the way up, but I have the collar on the lowest setting to just make him say "huh?". I have tried it on myself first. It's nice to keep Chewie observing his best manners even when I'm not physically beside him to make a correction. And I only use it when he is off lead.

  • And Daddy almost winds up on his ass on the floor because 60 lb Dobie wants to be loved. Such a cute vid.

  • Try doing that with a 13 stone rottie and keep standing.........though I do love your dog tehe

  • They are very smart but hard headed. I would go "old school" as far as training technique like by "William Koehler" (search Amazon). Also my saving grace is a remote shock collar to keep him behaving off lead, and early on to polish indoor behavior. Good luck! It is worth it!

  • @macjake72 Shock collar? A tad extreme, we've got ours well behaved outside without the use of physical correction!

  • I can't wait to get my own. How difficult are they to train?

  • AWESOME!

  • Haha, believe it or not I have actually watched this video several times before you suggested it. Good stuff!

  • LOL!! That was so sweet! Dogs are sooo special. I wish more ppl would try to understand their wants, needs and emotions. Your the best.

  • My doberman does the biting thing too. The name pincher is german for biter and the breed is renowned for its ability to suppress intruders etc by using scissor bites. They are way cool. If you are thinking of getting a dog and you have the space, you have to get one of these. mine is fantastic and super smart. great video btw.

  • what you do to the doberman? did you arrange a dog fit and fed him steroids?

  • Camera was a cheap HD Kodak "flip video" style cam

  • that was great.thanks for posting.

  • wad carnara did u use??the vid is so clear

  • wow

  • I've that referred to as a "scissor pinch" or "love nibbles". Usually it's reserved for people they really like. It really freaks people out but never has drawn blood. They are just such a physical breed. My boy is 4 and still does that and likes to poke his nose everywhere.

  • My doberman doesnt do that but what he does do is when he licks, he gets his teeth into there, but my mom freaks out because she doesnt want him to do that to random children my dobie is 10 months old, do you think he will grow out of that soon or is that a doberman thing?

  • Now that's dedication!

  • awww! so adorable! My fiance wants a Doberman King. My only thing is i'm a little allergic to them-but i still love them. I'm willing to take allergy shots just to have 1.

  • aww, what a good boy!

  • Life is not complete unless you have a doberman! I've had them in my life since 1989 & wouldn't have it any other way.

  • very cool, your dog os awesome!

  • Oh god mine does that and he is 4 months old. He's getting to heavy now and I hope I dont have to carry it on forever!

  • I don't know who has a bigger boner, you or the dog! haha totally kidding love the video!! ;)

  • That is so sweet. I love my dobies. My girl is 11 years young & still a (well-behaved) puppy!

  • thats so sweet

  • They are def. big baby, do want to be by your side all the time, but I love Dobies. I sit on the couch with my part Chihuahua on one side, my Dachsund on the other and then my Dobie on the rest of the couch. My Dobie crys if she can't be touching me in some way also. Hilarious, touching...but can be trying at times! But I wouldn't have it any other way!!!

  • LOL!! This is so cute!!!

  • AWESOME! i love dobbies and this is a cute video!

  • @2hatelibs1: actually I am married and the wife hates him. Haha. If you are in the house he wants to be by my side always! You really have to love them or you will go nuts!

  • @macjake72 Awww...how could anyone hate him? What a big baby!

  • @macjake72 How can your wife hate him. Is she jealous. I'm in a Doberman Rescue Group and we love our Dobes. I love your video but the remark about your wife is sad to read. I think my Dobe is the best thing in my life.

  • @macjake72 Gotta Love Dobbies used to have some myself, this breed been in my life all sicne I grew up. They are awesome. intelligent, loyal, protective they truely are something special in the dog world

  • Looking to get my first doberman soon, they are the best.

  • smart dog

  • that is AWESOME ! I want a dobe so bad ! just to do that haha :D

  • my boyfriend's got the same childish doberman who likes to jump in everybody's lap <3 they are so childish and cute :)))

  • This is too cute.

  • Started making him wait to stand up and put his paws on me for a hug only after the signal. He was so excited his back legs almost came off the ground anyway, so I started lifting him up when he jumped.

  • how did you do that.! my doberman only jumps when he chases his toys and they bounce

  • 2 people must own cats

  • my sister does that all the time but my doberman dosen't like it to much

  • 0:28 He's like "WTF MAN, I WANT TO HUG YOU MORREEEE!!!!"

  • You have to be careful doing this. Chewie has left me with some nasty scratches... Haha

  • Nice glad to see my dobie isn't the only one doing this I get standing hugs from mine but if I do a three count he's jumping up in my arms and no my dobie is almost 5 and getting more rambunctious keep waiting thell slow down one of these days

  • amazing, thanks for the post,my dobie, melody is ill at the moment and with the vet cant wait to see her,she is the most happy girl,my baby girl.

  • The last time my dob took the huff with me was when I collected him after being away on holiday. He ignored me for 3 full days. Sulky pup. lol

  • So awesome!!!

  • Thanks for your comments. Chewie will be 4 this November and he is still running 110%. Do they ever slow down?

  • @macjake72 My red dobe was 10 and she was still running around our 3 acre yard until a week before she was put down (had cancer). R.I.P Zoey

  • @macjake72 No they dont...not realy... Mine was almost 15 when he died and was grey where he was once brown in his face.

They stay young and playfull till the end.......mine did.

  • This is SOOO CUUTE! He was like hmm.. thinking about it.. can I have a hug? hmm OKAY!! AWE I can't wait for my pup to arrive!

  • that is so cute! i love hoe enthusiastic he was to jump... aww.

  • Yes, us dobie owners are a little nuts...... about our dogs. You have a beautiful dog, he is quick jumping into your arms. Ours is only 7 mo. old and is quite a handful he just loves to give kisses and "love nibbles" just about took my freaking ear off with a love nibble. He looked so confused when I yelled, didnt mean for it to hurt. Just wanted to show how much he loved me.

  • maybe doggie bit him at the end of video?

  • Lol that is the cutest! I got my dobie to do high five with both paws.

  • awww it was super cute and sweet

  • ke bellissimo dobermannn!!!

  • He hasn't made me too happy this summer as he has been sprayed by a skunk 3 times! Terrible experience!

  • @macjake72 lol...

  • @macjake72 OMG MINE TOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @macjake72

Immediate immersion in warm water and then handfuls of non diluted Dr Bonners Tea Tree oil soap and hand scrub the exposure area with the soap rinsing and reapplying undiluted Dr Bonner's until smell is NOT detected.. there will be a slight odor the next day but NOT of the skunk of the tea tree oil instead...my wife just happened to have it on shower shelf when the dobe and I visited(we live in separate cities for work)...

hope this helps... another dobe servant!

  • LOL That is so cute. Big ol' baby.

  • Awesome

  • LOL! That is fantastic! If my boy jumped in my arms, for sure I would fall! I just love it!! Too cute!
