@JJRandom1 You support gay marriage, but here you are rashly insulting someone's religious beliefs?
Let me explain to you something: those who opposed gay marriage do not BELIEVE homosexuality is "real", "valid", or "right." YOU don't believe that God is real. It's your choice on what you believe, but you have NO right to insult someone else's beliefs or way of life. THAT is the bottom line.
To support gay marriage yet go around saying shit like this is hypocritical; it's the same intolerance.
Regardless of what Republican's think, morals are not the government's job. There's a reason the founding fathers made sure to separate church from state. Since the only "real" argument against gay marriage comes from religious doctrine it should not be considered when making laws. We don't actually put murderers in prison because they broke some religious rule. We put them there because they committed an act detrimental to society. As gay marriage would not harm society it shouldn't be illegal.
I wish that Keith Olbermann can speak to this huge catholic youthgroup that I go to almost every friday night. They think that the new gay marriage law will cause a huge horrific problem. They know who I am yet they still preach this in order to "teach" me.
Yet, their good ppl but they have no idea who they hurting :(
Nothing other than equality should be the law. I don't want gay marriage nor straight marriage, but marriage. The marriage of two people, period. All the responsibilities and benefits remaining the same, but the only thing that'd "change" would be gays legally being able to get married, too.
Let's hope that Americans can learn to treat other's how they would wish to be treated. There is no Gay marriage, There is only the right of Marriage, that gay people deserve.

Mendacious drivel--interracial marriages have occured in many civilizations, Latin America (Spanigh/Native), Islam, in face many colonial relationships. But never, in human history, has 'marriage' been recongnized between two of the same sex. Indeed, it has been regarded by the human race as perversion. So, Olbermann, your analogy is baseless and witless, as is your appalling excuse for a career.
Hey, Dumbass. With your comments you spread your ignorance. Do some research next time before posting on my pages. Two searches on wikipedia should educate you a bit; 'Marriage' and 'homosexual marriage.' Read them all the way through. To paraphrase you, CincinnatusUSA, you're "baseless and witless, as is your appalling excuse for a "brain." Try not to drool on yourself, okay?
I love this powerful commentary. What motivates peoples to be so mean spirited to forbid our marriages? We just want to live lives in peace, share joy and want to be respected.
We haven’t done any damage to anything and what we’re doing doesn't affect norhurt in anyway. Being gay is nor perverted or harmful. We’re human beings and deserve to be treated like them. We deserve equal rights all over the world!
This is one of the most impassioned speech (Rant) I have ever heard from anyone ... made chills run up and down my spine ... and caused me to tear up ... phew ...
Keith has taken the legacy of Phil Donahue to a totally different level ...
Hurray to Keith & Rachel ... the "only" breaths of fresh air ever seen on the tube since Phil left the scene ... and Paul Wellstone "died" under mysterious circumstances ...
Right on, Keith. I totally agree....if your religion forbids the marraige of two people of the same sex, then DON'T DO IT!!! But don't force your beliefs on others or the government!
a beautifully eloquent piece of prose (yes, prose) addressing one of the most beloved, hated, and controversial topics of humanity, love. Keith bares our emotion to the bone with this speech which addresses modern, pertinent politics as well as deep philosophical questions of our existance. bravo.
Keith...don't you know??? It's these hateful bigots JOB to make SURE that none of these mislead gay people go to hell!! They are trying to save their souls, because what they are doing is wrong in the eyes of their God. All they really need to do is pray away the gay, and then everything will be GREAT!! Just ask Ted Haggard... and most of these closeted repubs who authored and passed prop 8...they will tell you the same.
religion needs to be taken out of the equation, this is about civil marriage not religious marriage. A couple is not required to get married in a church so religion should not have any place in a civil marriage, shame on those who cannot recognize this.
I'd it spam or not it true we should not take the chance of love away from anyone. Were is it any of anyones bissness to tell me or any other gay person in this world how to love.
I liked the last statement, commenting the prisoner reading the Omar alKhayam poem. write my name in the book of love or delete it from the book above, erase my name, and in the book of love, write it if you will. in the book of love. Thats a power and a blow to the equalityracisim in the world.
He has a point what right is of anyone to tell me and all the other gay people out there how to marry it our live tell use live our own live it not like were telling you how to live your lives some gest get over it and quit being so damn pig headed
If this can't convince you that gay marriage should be allowed and that religion creates more problems than it promises to fix, then I have no hope for you.
This is by far his best special comment. He keeps hitting the nail right on the head and showing what idiocy all this is. I am a loyal viewer of countdown and while I disagree with him more than I'd like (only on stupid little things AKA Hillary's comments about Robert Kennedy, bills in the house about human animal hybrids(what could it hurt?)) He speaks such truths like this, and this is why I love his show. Except I'd love it if he brought a political enemy on and tore him a new one :)
I love this man. I watch him every night without fail and it is a rare moment when I disagree with one of his opinions on social matters. Thank you Keith. Keep up the awesome work.
I might not agree with Mr. Olbermann about a lot of things, but he has this one DEAD on! Words of wisdom, sir!
