most HAM , what they do is either contest, trying to talk to station in deserted island, and people are piling up on top of each other to get QSL card ?

CB are used for much more practical purpose, such as getting road traffic information, etc. only problem of CB is that it is AM and 27 MHz, and only 5 watts are allowed. if we move CB to 50-54 MHz 12.5kHz step, you get 320 CH. and 110 watts of power can talk 20-50 miles in simplex. 27 MHz is more suitable for HAM, skip cause to much QRM.
