  • nick, i love your videos! by the way, is this saswati sen?

  • I would like to point out one thing which I have observed a lot in recent times. In Indian culture, it is considered a bit un-ladylike to display teeth. It takes away from the poise and grace of a beautiful woman, unless the ocassion call for it, such as a speaking pose or laughter etc. A half-open mouth for the heck of it is a sign of silly mindlessness, and should be avoided at all costs. It was a downer to see the kathak dancer open with that stupid expression writ large on her face.

  • I see Sri Birju Maharaj on Tabla, and it sounds like Sri Vempatti Chinna Satyam and Smt ML Vasanthakumari on vocals. Could this be true? or a dream?? Please post more videos (if available) of this concert!

  • This was part of a special "national integration" program held in 1985 in Hyderabad.

  • It is Sanjukta Panigrahi. Awesome juxtaposition of three classical styles: North Indian dance, Orissi dance and South Indian music.

  • thank you for the beautiful duet... :)
