Actually these checkpoint are put under the ruse catching DUIs, when really they are checking to make sure your papers are in order. They catch most people on their vehicle papers and write citations and/or tow their vehicles to collect revenue. That's really what the checkpoints are for.

Wrong. Traveling is a long recognized right going back centuries in the Common Law. The US Supreme Court has found time and time again that a right may not be turned into a privilege. Driving for commercial purposes is regulated, but traveling from Point A to Point Z is not. One actually does not need a license to travel, only a license to "drive", which is defined under California law as a commercial activity, and hence subject to regulation (license and registration). But go on being a sheep.

1. The cop is right for DUI check points in order to maintain public safety among drivers and common law travelers.

2. Its the people fault for either implying consent or expressing to consent to these warrantless searches.

3. So either you the driver/common law traveler to exercise your rights not to be held liable and contract with these municipal corporations who are out to collect your money for profit.

5. Always answer in a form of a demur and never acquiesce!

Police checkpoints are popping up all over the country.

Excuses include checking people for cell phones, seatbelts, licence and insurance, sobriety, there's even motorcycle only checkpoints. Few Amercians seem to understand the historical significance of police checkpoints like those used in Nazi Germany and Communist dictatorships.

The use of police checkpoints can only expand with a population of ignorant zombies who are clueless about tyranny and world history.
