  • its a shame to use that stock heatsink on such a good setup :P j/k

  • its not stock anymore.

its got the noctua NH-U12P SE2

  • ah now we're cool :D

  • That type of locking the heatsink to the board is just horrifying :O. I've installed that kind of cooler couple of times and always been afraid if i break the cooler's flimsy plastic feet or motherboard.

Aftermarket coolers are always better, but will of course cost extra money. But hey, quality products are bit expensive.

  • ya i know feel the same way.

i know that too, but that isn't my rig, its a consumer's. I have a wc system

  • are you planning to overclock? If so how much? I've seen the 920 overclocked to 3.8 on air which isn't that bad.

  • you can hit 4ghz on air with a Prolimatech Mega Shadow and 2 fans

shits loud as hell but can be done

  • oh and i used stock too

  • why didn't you use any extra thermal paste on the cpu i used arctic silver 5 with stock on my i7 950 and it idles at 40 to 55 C

  • hehe first comment why stock cooler?

  • idk...

In my PC I used stock cooler till I got my watercooling, but I build this PC (the HAF922) for someone else therefore I used what he told me to use, but, personally, i would invest in a after market cooler
