Plus he was in a serious car accident that completely messed up his hand/wrist/forearm (one or all of them, can't remember). Oddly enough I believe he needed 3 pins in him for the surgery and if you are a fan you know his obsession with the number 3. They only ever use 3 colours for their stage outfits/instruments. Only ever use 3 instruments at once in a song. All leads back to his belief in the holy trinity.
